Okay. So Instead of a thread for each strain, I am going to make a journalish thing. Here Goes!

Current Setup:

240w Blackstar LED
Fox Farms Ocean Forest Soil
Fox Farms Tri-Pack Nutrients

Strains:
Auto Blue Mystic
Afghan Kush Ryder (Growing off-site)

Auto Blue Mystic: After germinating in a rock wool cube, the seed has sprouted. There are well formed cotyledons. I partially buried the rock wool cube in the soil and left a plastic dome over the seedling to retain humidity. It is under the 240w blackstar, but the light is about two feet up. Is this ok? I figure as long as the seedling doesn't get too hot or dry, it will start photosynthesizing and growing. Will be watering the soil around the moist cube with charcoal filtered tapwater that has been allowed to sit for about 4 hours. Is this all good? I will post pictures when I get my camera working. Hit me up with advice!

Afghan Kush Ryder:
Seed is germinating in a moist rockwool cube that is in a dark drawer. While the seedling has not emerged, it is visible and definitely pushing its way to the surface.

You should think about tossing the dome. Fresh air is your seedlings best friend right now. If your RH/Temps are good then the dome only interferes. And you should get the BS240 somewhere between 16 and 20 inches which is a good height for seedlings/vegging IMHO, but some like it even closer. 2 feet is ok for now but you'll get some stretching if you don't get it closer soon. Happy Growing!

Well after a few hours with the star, I made a radical decision that will make my life SUPER AWESOME!!!! It was WAAAY too hot in there. I'm talkin 85 degrees and climbing. SO! I figured a way to keep light out with the door open and then went on Amazon and ordered a 5'x4'x2' Mylar tent. Now I will have ample space for both my autos, and I will be able to install a carbon filter and exhaust vents! HOORAYWIN! I will be moving the light a little closer when I feel the seedling is a little stronger. I killed my last seedling off at exactly this phase by cooking it with a light. I am so stoked! Once I get the tent and a little more cash, I will probably make the jump to hydroponic. Maybe next grow I do will be in bubble buckets?!

P.S. The dome is gone.

So I just got micro-shears for pruning and I snipped off some of the old, burned leaves from the BMA. It looks rather small now that I cut off any yellowed, weaker leaves, but I left all the bud sites intact and there's much more light reaching the new growth that was hidden under the leaves. I hope that I'll start to see some new growth take off now that there is more light and the plant doesn't have to support a few half-dead leaves. There is officially NO MORE YELLOW on the BMA!!! WINSAUCE.
I haven't touched the AKR as it looks absolutely beautiful and healthy. Tons of white hairs are popping out at all the nodes. I will take some pics on sunday probably. Gonna give a regular watering today.

I was wondering. If molasses only serves as a food source for microbes in the rhizosphere, wouldn't sugar water do the same thing? I am going to start with a new watering schedule where every other watering has nutes and the other watering has ZHO and molasses. Is this a good idea? Do i need to keep giving my plant ZHO or should it be sufficiently inoculated by now?

I may have lost most of my journal, but I will still be posting. So stay tuned!!!!! Stupid Hackers.......

Great news for the BMA. Still sucks about the journal though.

I use molasses to feed my herd with. I start early with about a teaspoon per gallon every other feeding, then increase that to 1 tablespoon by late flower. I like it because you're basically feeding your beasties Cal/Mag with a touch of iron and sugar plus carbs. Sugar water is different and I wouldn't go near it. And while I've never used Zho (yet), I would think your soil is infected by now, except for one thing bothering me. You do know the FF Tri-Pack isn't organic? I think 2 of them are, but I'm almost positive at least one isn't. You may want to check that out before you wipe out the population of your soil .

Tiger bloom isn't, but I'm already using pH up which is just chemicals i guess. I have been using ZHO to try and maintain a live soil culture.

Trying to restore popular interest.... MUCHOS FOTOS!!!

These are the AKR. Bud sites everywhere! There are a lot more than visible here, but they're hard to photograph. I guess some people use macro lenses to get those really close up, sexy trich pics during their grows. Been feeding Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom and ZHO every other watering with regular pH water in between.

Here's the BMA. A little stunted from her troubled past, but still flowering nonetheless. Like I said. After first real pruning, no more yellow leaves. Same feeding schedule as AKR. Dunno if you can see the hairs in pics 2 and 3.

just got home from work and I'm super beat, so I will be brief. Took two pics on the cell phone. Will be posting more pictures with my camera tomorrow during the day.

Blue Mystic Auto:
Despite being marketed as an "Odor Neutral" strain, this plant reeks like skunk. Bud sites are smaller than AKR but definitely growing rapidly. You can see two fan leaves that look yellowed again. I am POSITIVE that this is NOT pH related, and NOT Nute burn. I am going to up the amount of N that the girls are getting with my next feeding. Hopefully she appreciates it.
IMAG0161.jpg

Afghan Kush Ryder: Is actually much darker in person. HUGE THICK CANOPY. As soon as you move some of the leaves, you see that every node is pouring out hairs. The internodes are less than an inch long for the most part. Has a nice hashy smell at the moment. TONS of bud sites. Was considering thinning out the foliage, but decided against it.
IMAG0162.jpg

Will be feeding them tomorrow using different amounts of Grow Big, Big Bloom, and Tiger Bloom. Probably going to get some unsulphered blackstrap molasses as well and add that to the mix.

Later kids. Feel free to post your thoughts! I'll be in touch.

So there were two leaves on the bma that looked a little rough and I snipped them. I doubt this will become a problem for the plant, but this is what they looked like just in case anyone can diagnose?
IMAG0166.jpg

Notice the dark veins, light leaves, and brown tips.

Just planted White Widow and White Rhino by Greenhouse Seeds.

IMAG0167.jpg

Planted them in 1 quart pots in mostly FF Light Warrior with a little of my FFOF and Perlite mix. Soaked them for a few hours and planted them pointy side up. Here's hoping they pop! I don't plan on touching them till they do. I planted them about .5" deep. WHEEE WHITE STRAINS!

I like that Light Warrior for seedlings too but what do they do, put gold in it? Costs a ton where I live so I end up using Happy Frog + perlite. Good Luck with the Whites. And no peeking! LOL

NO PEEKING! I learned my lesson and have developed some patience. Maybe it's the two beautiful ladies I get to tend to every day. Either way, I ordered another 240w Blackstar which should arrive by the time my new girls pop. I'm planning on vegging them for 6 weeks, and 4 weeks in pop another two seeds which i will run 12/12 from seedlings. Will probably be using the Pineapple Chunk and the Northern Light x Skunk for those. :)
