whats wrong with the paper towel method its flawless...i wet a paper towel ring it out so its just moist...add a few seeds on it and fold the paper towel over 3 times and put it in a zip lock back and put it up in my closet for 3 days...I just germinated 20 seeds in 2 different bags..10 in one bag 10 in the other...and all 20 germinated fine? lol

here we go again.the paper towel method is for amateur growers who through lack of experience and knowledge think paper towels are the way to go. Getting de ja vu here. There are no paper towels in nature for seeds to fall onto germ. So why do it with weed. Take1 jiffy pellet add water place in a propogator and hey presto a seedling! It aint hard. It cuts out any risk of damaging the delicate taproot. Had100 percent germ success using this method so far.

Just got 10 seeds out of some really good bud a buddy of mine had. I have tried the paper towel, dinner plate and bowl way. i wanna know the best way to germinate these nice bagseeds.
Hey I've never had a seed not germinate this way not even my vegetables. Just get some Jiffy Peat Pellets and the Humidity dome and put some water in there let them swell up sow your seeds about a 1/4 way down and set it in a windowsill. I've never not had a seed pop up.

it is not flawless, not by a long shot. Any method which involves risking damage to the root can not possibly be flawless. Straight into soil or jiffy plugs, no risk of damage at all.

well always worked for me...never had a seed not germinate
yeah it does work, i am not saying it doesnt, but a paper towel is putting the taproot at risk. There are tiny hairs on the taproot, that when you lift your seed off the paper towel. Will damage the hairs. I want to give my plants the best start in life. Have used both methods, but would never go back to paper towels now.

well first of all not everyone has money to go out and by jiffy pellets and so the next best thing is to use the papper towl method. Its cost just about nothing and you can check on your seeds when ever you want. And if you space them far enough apart you aint going to damage you roots. This method works really well if you want to make sure your seeds will crack and as far as just putting the seeds in the ground you most likely have to plant alot of seeds to get any success from that, but both methods work so find the way you like to use best and go with it.

got money for soil to grow in???? fill beer cup with holes in bottom half way ,wet, plant seed, cover with plastic wrap... works every time

if no money for pellets than no money for soil = dead plant its a few bucks go to the store if you cant afford pellets you cant afford soil and you shouldnt be growing

Ok some ppl use cloths, paper towels, jiffy pellets, water or whatever way you use. guess what your all doing the same shit germinating seeds, some people just prefer different methods that they like. Every one isn't going to agree on the same thing, because people want to try dirrerent things than others, creating new ways. On the other hand there are reasons to different methods

I am a firm believer in the keg cup greenhouse mehod. Drill holes in a solo cup fill it with dirt and soak it thoroughly (I use promix bx with extra perlite). Leave a little room in the top of the cup for the sprout to emerge. Soak the seeds in distilled water until they sink when submerged, or 24 hours at most and plant them 2-3x the width of the seed deep. Cover them with plastic wrap and rubberband the top. Use a heat mat with the thermostat in a blank cup at about 75 F. Remove the plastic wrap when the sprout emerges usually withing 4 days. all of my POG's sprouted in less than 24 hours. I just recently started 21 seeds this way (six different strains) and 20 of them sprouted and are doing great so far. Also it's easy to upcan because you can just cut the cup away and transplant with minimal root damage. Not saying its the best method, but its worked great for me. -Jah be with you all

I have 100% germ rate doing the following method.

Paper towel soak it all the way on running water.
Squeeze soaked paper towel SLIGHTLY so only a bit of water drips when you hold it.
Put seeds between the paper towel and fold it twice or 3 times depending on size of your ziplock bag.
Put it in the ziplock bag and close it and put it somewhere dark. I put it in my socks drawl. Check every 12 hrs. You should have little white roots sticking out within 24hrs~48hrs depending on strain. Worked 100% for me so far.

hey down on wax i have some jiffy tablets i just wondered if your throwing them strait into the tabs or letting them crack in water first. just looking for some advice

get a shot glass, fill it with water, put a half capful of 3% hydrogen peroxide in shot glass, put seeds in glass and in dark area, that shit will germ in 6 to 12 hours... hydrogen peroxide will kill any fungi, and oxygenates the seed... best way by far, u control what grows, not nature... thats the whole point in indoor growing isnt it?

Why waste money on jiffy pellets and germ kits??

Why put a seed directly in soil and hope that it sprouts??

Damp paper towel, ziplock plastic bag, warm surface, and 2-3 days later you can plant the viable seeds and toss the bad ones. This grow I'm 6 for 6 with the under-estimated, so called obselete paper towel method.
