Beginning to Flower??

I started to germinate this seed back on May 12 and it is now a week away from August, do I see the beginning stages of flowering or am I wrong??

yup, what you're seeing are the very first signs of preflowers, you can kind of make out the two small pistils coming out of the calyx there..

i take it they're outdoors?
what you're seeing is more a sign of sexual maturity and not really a sign that they're flowering.. if they're outdoors, not much you can do buy roll with nature..
as we start to get further along into august, the days will start to get shorter and the dark hours longer, forcing the flowering hormones to build to a point that forces the plant to start to grow buds. it shouldn't be very long now, even though i'm not really an outdoor person, common sense tells me that summer solstice was june 20th i think this year, which is the longest day of the year, and every day there after we start to lose day light slowly each day.. once the days get short enough, your plants will flower.

Well, it's complicated. I keep them outdoors during the day (9am-5pm roughly) during the brightest parts of the day and then take them inside after to my grow light set up (not a good one, at that). So I guess they're outdoors, but have some indoor help.

9to5 of direct sunlight should be enough ....why not leave em out til dark then bring em in to a dark room save on electricity. Just curious

Right around 14-14.5 hours dark most hybrids start to flower. The more sativa the closer to 12/12 before they flower.

Of course the purer the indica the early and faster it will flower, the purer the sativa the later and longer it will flower.

I've got some that have already started flowering. Some not.

If you force them into flowering now by reducing light hours adequately the plant will become large and rather cumbersome to move in/out but if your lights aren't up to the task you really could use the sunlight. The other choice is to slowly match the light hours to the current daylight hours for your region then leave them outdoors full time. Unless you are rolling this plant around I think I'd go with that option.

The only reason I'd see to bring them in if he's able to get 9to5 direct sun would be security issues ....

I would also dig a hole, plant in the ground and mulch it. It will help with heat and cold spells.
