Short Rider top cola all trimmed up.....looks like a sativa to me

Smells strait like Grapefruit
My big devil and fast bud both grew like that, I thought it was because of a lack of light or shitty conditions their first couple weeks. It looks nice and all, but once you break it all up there isnt much there, but I bet its good shit none the less. Mine was.

I agree, and can see that it wont break up to be as much as a dense nug for sure. Jus hoping for potency now I guess.

I dont know that this was lack of light, I mean it was under the sun. I think its maybe some of that ruderalis background coming out.

My first Short Rider had class A nugs, nice n thick and hairy. These seem to lack all hair pretty much and are made up of all calyxs.

Has a wonderful fruity smell though.

Mine smelled sweet and fruity too. I have been using this merrils compost tea, something I decided to pick up and give a go. Everything I have fed it with has a similar sweet smell, with fruit or funk behind it. With 3 different strains having a similar sweetness, along with their own odor in there, I think what Im feeding them is making them smell super sweet. My flower power is growing more like a normal plant does bud wise. I also think it has to do with what traits are coming out stronger plant to plant.

The only trait I have found to be the same on the Fem Short Riders is that they show sex around 30 days from seed.

Seem to wanna hermie a little, and all have grown different so far.

Heres my auto aks week 5, 35 days from sprout. So halfway mark I guess. Think they just about finished theyre stretch, so maybe theyll make 18". Good enough I suppose, hoping for an oz each. They are 12-14" tall and up to 16" wide. Getting some pollen off a male, and I'll hit em with it next week. Actually the one on the left is Automaria, and the smallest. Still havent put on much buds, but I was cool with that cus I wanted them to get on some size first. Not much resin or smell either. Almost no crystals on the male.

ok guys, i am finally starting to get some real helpful info from some people on here! i need so info from some people thta i know have experience growing autos. i plan on using a blend of fox farm light warrior and big & chunky perlite. I figure on waiting about 5 days to a week after the seed pokes out of the soil and then i am going to feed with grow big every other watering. when it starts to bloom i plan on using big bloom and maybe some kind of sweetiner... how often should i water my autos and how much water should i give them? any other advice on the nutes is welcome too!

Basically feed them like you would a regular plant, thats what I have done so far. Veg food until I see calyxes and then its bloom food. Easy with the food at first and build the strength like you would anything else. I have had no issues like this. I used fox farm nutes for diesel ryder, they worked great, grow big, big bloom, and tiger bloom. I was feeding them the same thing as the regular plants in the room. I used and am still using merrils compost tea for my outdoor autos. Works pretty good in my opinion. I can make the tea as strong as I want with no chance of burning my roots.

I started my auto ak-47's in pots about that size and found them to be too small after about two weeks.

Happy first day of summer

My Auto Northern Lights and Auto Blue Mystic are looking nice so far, Both about 2 inches or so tall.

The Auto NL has some pretty fat little Indica leaves on her. Cant wait to see her get some size going.

I think I like 5 gallon buckets the best so far for my autos, it ='s less watering over the grow and allows plenty of root growth.

And happy summer to you too :-D

My auto ak-47's are still going and growing strong. The tall one with less bushiness is now 17 inches tall on day 29. The other two more bushy ones are 15 and 14 inches tall, and about 16 inches across. Little bit concerned that the bushiest plant has slightly yellowier leaves than the others and has a slight purple tinge to some of the stems. Im guessing its a magnesium deficiency, probably caused by a lockout due to water with too many ppm - gave her some epsom salts in a slightly higher ph water on Saturday, still waiting/hoping for an improvement. Il post some new pics up later today after they've had their bedtime.

Here are the pictures

If anyone has any thoughts as to what might be causing these purple stems id be glad to hear it. Could it just be the strain (auto ak-47)? Or is it something problematic?

how much does a short rider average if grown in good conditions and how fast do they start to flower i just started to germinate 5 of those puppies today
I got just under 2 ounces in an aerogarden.

When should I adding nutes to my short riders? Theyre 11 days old and starting to show sex at about 1.5-2in tall. What kind of nutes should I use they are in FFOF soil 3 gal pots under a 400w hps.
In FFOF you should wait about a month. Short Riders are sensitive to nutes so be careful. I would wait until they look hungry and then start em at about 25% of what the nute recommend.

After curing for a couple months mine have a lemony taste. Not that potent though, I have been smoking northern light and it is very potent.

I have an Easyryder going now and will post pics when done. Nice to see this thread so active lately.

They're under a 400w sunmaster dual spectrum hid, and have been since day 2. Im growing in 'canna terra pro' soil which has nutrients already in it, so I relied on them for the first two weeks. Now they've started flowering ive started using 'Biobizz Bio-Bloom'.

And thanks for the kind words. It's my first grow and I keep swaying from highly proud and happy to insecure and paranoid lol. Just trying to let them get on with it for the most part, but would like to get to the bottom of the purple stem issue. Ive read that ak-47's always seem to have purple stems, but ive also read of people ignoring purple stems and suddenly finding their plants dying :-s

well i have been researching for quite a while now on autos... i am waiting for my seeds to arrive. your plants look about as big and bushy as any autos i have seen! I would be quite pleased if my first grow turn out as nice as yours. i was planning on growing 4 under my light but seeing how full and bushy yours are, i am second guessing and thinking maybe 2 or 3 plants would be better. if mine turn out as nice as yours i won't have enough room for 4 in my grow cabinet! thanks for the info!

Seems like the size of the plants is fairly dependent on the size of the pots you put them in - big pots = big plants small pots = small plants. Also the ak-47's are known as being one of the larger auto flowering strains.

Which seeds have you ordered? What size is your grow area? What light you gonna be using? :-)

well for now i started small. i ordered purple ryders and they are supposed to average 10 to 12 inches. i am growing in a cabinet i am going to buile about 30" wide, 24" deep, and 36 to 40" tall. i ordered a sun blaze 2ft long 8 bulb wide T5 high output grow light. i have 8in pots right now... what size pots did you use? After my first grow i think i am going to order AK47 X Auto Blueberrys, and maybe some Auto Blue Himalayn and diesel ryders.... I may try to grow some of these outside if the weather stays nice.

Are your seeds fem? I would do like atleast 6 fem autos in there. Or 12 regular. Probably more since you have a little strain.
