Autoflower Thread & Resource Guide

I have two quick questions.
First for KolorBlind, those Diesel Ryders that you produced all of the seeds on. Isn't the Diesel Ryder an F1 Hybrid? If it is, then they often will not breed back true. It will often breed back to one of the originals. At least that is the way it is for most plants and animals for that matter too. Just a thought.

Second question>
Does anyone have any experience with autoflowering strains called Little Devil and Little Angel. I just go five feminized seeds of each from goldenseed. I plan on doing an outdoor flower pot grow starting now. I'm in the Southeast so I still have 90 days. These advertize that you can get a 100 gram yield outdoors. Of course, this would be under optimum conditions. They also sent me 8 free Cheese Wreck seeds, a cross between big chees and trainwreck, just for being a new customer.

Well here's the thing. I actually did a little reading on this and here's what I came up with. Originally the DRs from Joint Dr. were F1. I think now they claim they are F2, or people are misinformed who knows. The seeds I received were the product of a female & male diesel ryder my friend grew from the original seeds he bought. The original seeds Im sure were probably F1. He gave me 16 seeds, as well as 2 female & 1 male DR plant that were already 30 days old grown from the same round of seeds he gave me. Every one that I planted showed sex from 12 to 15 days from seed, and flowered under 20/4 light regiment.

I know there is a possibility of getting a "true" non af seed out of the bunch, but I think most of them should stay AF since the mom & the dad were both AF Diesel Ryders. It worked for my friend quite well, so I am just hoping it works the same for me. Also, I am very confused as to what F1, F2, etc. even means. I tried looking it up with no success, is it pretty much referring to the generation of successful cross breeding or something along those lines? From what I've read, the original Diesel strain (not sure if NYCD is the original or not) is a clone only strain, so some people say its impossible to have very many of its traits converted to AF. Maybe this is why it is so simple to breed them?

I would love to hear your feedback on the issue, and Ill keep everyone posted on my progress, I have 4 seeds from the original batch I received, and 20 from my pollinated babies that should all be going into party cups today or tomorrow. We'll see how many keep their AF traits.

Peace

I really don't know, it was just a thought. I'm not really sure how it works with pot plants. I know that you see some of the hybrids in general referred to as F1 and some as "stabilized".

With animals the first cross is referred to as an F1 hybrid. If you breed a pair of the F1's they do not breed back true. You don't get the same traits as the original cross.

I think in this case though, as long as both of the originals were auto flowering, you seeds should be too.

This is an interesting thread. I just joined this site, and I have learned a lot.

I do hope someone can give me some feedback on the little angles and little devils. I think they originated from Low Ryders also.

i'm no pro on this subject either, been reading for a while...i've got some diesel ryder's goin as well as a couple that i've pollenated, i'm hoping to get a couple hundred seeds...from the research i've done, when you cross a fully auto female with a fully auto male, you get close to 100% fully auto offspring...you start gettin weird stuff when you cross an auto with a regular strain...some of those offspring would be auto, but to stabilize it's a bitch, you gotta cross like 4 times...so basically making your own auto strain is tough as hell, but just wanting to do a seed run, it's prett easy...i just picked my strongest male, put him outside till he was shedding pollen, then brought my selected lady outside and dusted her down...then i left her outside for a few hours, shook her down, sprayed her with a bit of water, then back to the growroom she went...already i can see the hairs turning brown and dying, which means it "took"....hope this helps some...
and everyone is welcome over at my friendly journal, the link's in my sig..
happy growing and stay safe.....

guys I need some help. My lowlife auto (unknown strain) has been looking very good up until recently. I started giving it fox farm nutes at 1/4 strength and only gave it 3-4 feedings with it. I started noticed dark spots forming on my leaves. I decided to let it go since I'm not smoking the leaves anyways, but it has gotten much worse just look at my pictures.

When I got home from work today I flushed about 6 or so gallons of water through it, basically until the water was clear coming out and then some.

I kind of need some help quick because judging by my last picture the 'blackness' is spreading and it looks like it will fuck my harvest up if I don't do anything.

i'm not sure what that is my brotha...i'd check some cannabis deficiency charts and just search for plant problems, there should be tons of pics...good luck...

for the guy saying DR's are f1 and unstable on the joint docters website says they are stabilized hope its true thats the reason i got them just thought i would put that out there......http://www.seedsman.com/en/cannabis-seeds/joint-doctor/regular-lowryder-seeds/diesel-ryder-seeds

Yeah they are totally stabilized. I did more reading and if you use a 100% DR male and breed it with a 100% DR female then 100% of the seeds should give you DR plants. This is actually exactly how the plants I started with were made. I pollinated one of them so technically my seeds are considered F3 and should be very stable.

I ordered $130 worth of beans today but not the ones I really wanted. I found some really interesting ones tho and I know they will be a lot of fun to grow. I got Mini Thunderfuck, LowBerry and Orange Candy Floss from DutchBreed.com

some say 20/4, others 18/6....i use my metal halide bulb till they show sex on 20/4, then switch to hps and 18/6, they seem to really love that! i've gotten 2 oz monsters from diesel ryder, which is one of my fav strains on earth, it's that awesome and i'm sooo excited i finally sacked up and made some seeds which will be done in less than a month, hopefully a couple hundred...i use big pots for em too, 3 gal and this run i'm trying a easy ryder in a 5 gal pot...if you give em lots of room, large containers and plenty of light, it's really a sight to watch them explode with growth! that was quite a stoned rant there, haha, i just love auto's...back to topic, either way is just fine, an auto expert round here, TONYEJO, sumpin like that, he grows ALOT of auto's and he swears by 18/6....:peace:

If you look at the grow journal in my sig, you'll see I got 304g dry (with stems) with 1 Lowryder2 & 2 Auto AK47's, amazing yeild! and I used 20/4 through-out the grow with a 400w HPS (200w CFL Envirolite for the first 2 weeks). The seed website; Doctor Chronic, also recommends 20/4.
Start your seed in it's final pot (I use 8ltr) and watch them explode.
