Hi, I have a tech question... I've experienced some trouble during last weeks of flowering in one of my 6 autos, 3 easy rider and 3 ak47 x critical mass. in one of the aks, top buds and leaves turned brownish, like dried out, thrichs were milky as hell, so it was not finished at all, nor was nute burned as I always used same nutes on all of them... 3 weeks to go for her, from what the breeder says, I cut down the sick buds (a whole 15g. dried) and left the rest on the plant, then I started the flushing.
now, those buds... covered in snow bud with a horrible smell and taste, tried to smoke some and had to throw away the joint in disgust, with no buzz anyway.
I know it was too early but now I fear that I will never be able to remove that chemical smell from the buds, even if I flushed properly and then watered with mollasses. now I'm asking if really could I have this problem, having shitty buds at the end of over three months of cures is not my goal, can I do something else, a part from flushing again?

looks like nute burn.. try plain water for awhile
if you are feeding have you started on a lower (1/4 or 1/2) strength?

Never do anything smaller than a 3 gallon when using dirt. I use 2 gallon pots for my coco drip system but that's a different story

some auto seeds do not auto flower, and need to be put in 12/12. this could happen in any batch of auto seeds , this seems to happen a lot from nirvana autos .

hey i use 2 gallon pots and i use soil , ive also seen massive plants in 1 gallon pots , but 2-3 gallon is more than plenty big enough here are a few recent pics all in 2 gallon pots! 45 + gr on each of the first three and 32 off the last pic , when i checked the roots there was plenty of room !!!

we started 9 fem'd autos: 3 BHD, 5 Onyx and one II Diavolo. they all germ'd nicely and grew fast and looked great until last monday which was day 18. at that point they started to show their sex...and three of the the Onyx plants grew big o'l balls...males. So they got chopped immediately. Was wondering if the genetics on Onyx are still being sorted out of if its common for fem'ed auto to switch like that. This is our first auto grow...just wanted to see what they are all about. The only thing that we can think of is that one day (around day 10) the heat climbed to 91 degree's F. However that was only for about two hours because before that is was 83 degrees and somehow the temp creeped up to 91.
Hasn't happened since. any thoughts from experienced auto-flower growers?? thx, shannon

Hi AF group 
My next grow will be all AF's. Got 4 seeds, 2 x Big Buddha 'critical mass automatic', and 2 x Green House ' big bang automatic'.
Whilst my last non - AF's are in 12/12, I've been plotting, planning and preparing for the start of these exciting new beauties. But I'm going around in circles a bit, trying to decide 'whats best' for a successful grow.
LIGHT
I read elsewhere that an 18/6 cycle is ideal for AF's. But I've also seen 24/0, and 20/4 and even 12/12 start to finish advised as the best light cycle. So any AF gurus, please advise

Grew my non AF's in organic peat free compost, thinking I was giving them the best. But I had a mass invasion of midgies or 'fungus gnat' which whilst not harming the grow has put me right off using again.
So I bought clay pellets and also a bag of canna terra profesional. However the cana professional contains peat, and I read peat can turn plants male :O . The guy in the shop said just use the clay pellets, but I'm not a hydroponics guru and just want to use plant pots and watering by hand as Ive always done. How best to water in a clay pellet medium I've no idea.

i usually run 20/4 or 18/6 depending on breeder
if you don't want soil look into coco... or get better quality soil

well i have had my box get that hot in summer never had a problem .91degrees is tolerable .

95% of the autos I grow do exactly what they are supposed to do but every once in a while there is a bad apple in the bunch....it happens

Barneys farm auto little cheese grow, 2 plants at 3 weeks old, 3 at 2 weeks old one of which is lst'd,
under 2x 150w hps, & a 45w cfl 6400k
one of the plants is significantly smaller than all the others idk why think it might be deformed or something,
using miracle grow until signs of flowering then switching to advanced nutrients bloom fertilizer,
two photo-period plants in same grow room northern soul & power africa don't know which is which didnt label pots when planted,
could do with some advice as this is my first auto grow thanks.
I don't know what strains those are but I'm sure there is room for improving yield and size of plants. There always is...
$1 more in soil will increase your root space 50%. More roots equals bigger plants. Bigger plants equals
higher yields. 2 gallon is a little small unless you are running coco coir or just don't want the them to get to
optimum height

easy ryder top and la diva...la diva resonded much better too 12-12(had to switch) than the easy ryders...prolly only gonna get an oz of cured bud from the 2 main easy ryders...the la diva still has white pistils everywhere, nother few weeks..easy ryder another 1 maybe 2...
