Ordering Mephisto from anywhere but their site is like a crime. Never know what you're getting and how it's been handled or stored. Anyways, glad to see you got something that broke the plain.

Hey Matty... You too some of your autos yeah? To you just punch off the new top before it gets too big, or do you actually snip off a good chunk of the stem?

If i top its usually right at day 21 and the 5th node is usually growing so small its still straight up. I cut above the 4th and right where the new srms start. I like a little stem so the plants wont split where topped if to big. I also always remove 1st node since never grows much leaving 2, 3 and nodes 4 to grow.

Well , I'll actually be honest. I didnt want to mention in the fugue state post, but I had already had a sour crack not germ on me months ago, and not only that while I was waiting on the fugue state coming I tried popping another sour crack , from a different seed bank. Nothing.
So I'm 3 and 0 with mephisto when I'm usually 100% . 2 different seed banks with excellent reputations and no issues with germ rates before. Each pick and mix seed came factory sealed in a mephisto foil pouch.
So I've lost money now because of sub par beans, and I'm not blaming herbies as they are a soild company I've used for years.
Did a little googling and there are similar stories of poor germ rates one thread in particular at autoflower.net I recall a mephisto rep posting something along the lines of " when you enter the site read the t and c. We don't guarantee our seeds"
To me that's the words of a company who know full well their seeds are weak.
Good potential yes but not guaranteed in any way. In fact a few of the fugue state journals I seen the plant looked terrible .like plants growing with 1 to 3 blades leaves all over. Grower error, to much n not enough light.? I was hoping. Weak genetics ,quite possibly. I don't even know if I'll try them again. Which is a shame when it seems people are getting good results.

What seedbank did you go through? I ordered 3 northern cheese haze seeds through Seedsman. I popped 5 royal queen seeds autos seeds 3 different strains... And 2 Seedsman autos along with 1 of the Northern Cheese haze seeds. The Northern Cheese haze was the last to pop. I had to peel the seed husk from the sprout because it was definitely not coming off on its own. And it ended up being the runt of everything I popped and it was full of immature seeds. I am scared to try popping the other 2 northern cheese haze seeds but that wasn't enough to stop me from placing a $260 order directly with Mephisto...

I always have used herbies headship.
I am hesitant to order direct from mephisto as I'm unsure how good their stealth is. ..but now I'm also sceptical that I'll even get viable seed. Not worth the hassle

Exactly..I'm not in the US.

Doesn't matter anyway. Doing this freebie now. Hopefully it turns out well
All i can say is there is WAY more good than bad you'll find on AFN about Mephisto, not google. And as for shipping, they have a US store, Canada store and a EU store. Each store only ships to that region. EU store is in Spain. Every breeder has bad seeds but you won't find nearly that much bad if you actually look at all the people that grow at AFN.

Oh cool I can order from eu site then .thanks for that info.
I'll certainly give them another chance. Do you recommend any strain in particular?

I have done Ripley's OG my 1st auto last summer and it was insane. Did 2, topped and got 10 oz. It smelled like lemon pine sol cleaner, so strong but so damn pleasant too. Buds were so fat the branches were breaking from falling over. Worth a grow for sure. I have Chemdogging going at the moment and they look like im going to love them. Double Grape gets MAD good reviews as well as Strawberry Nuggets. Walter White is super frosty as all heck. You will find that every strain is really loved by someone. For a big plant try Ripley's OG, SODK, Walter White or Hubbabubbasmelloscope. Medium look for Chemdogging, Double Grape or Fourm Stomper. Small, look at Sour Crack(always gets steller reviews on the finished smoke), Strawberry Nuggets or 24 Carrot.

awesome , i really liked the look of chemdogging too. Every report i found on it said it was a creeper but reallly strong.
youve made my mind up , they look like really great plants there
I like how they are growing for sure. I usually top most plants but just left these 2. The sides are all close to the main with zero training. Also like how the nodes are not super tight either letting light get in. I believe i have 10 or 15 and gonna do atleast 1 more round of them cause i got a good feeling. The Thc was tested at 22% and is quoted as powerful but balanced high.

Hows it growing? I have been working with sweet gelato auto from sweet seeds. I am growing some crosses now from two different sweet gelato females. Id like to see how yours looks now; mine are around the same age, maybe a little older but I had to transplant them kinda roughly. :spew:

How tall did your sweet Gelato plants get? I think I'd like to work one of those into the grow if they don't get too big
