faaark dude i feel like i have forever to wait still like 6-8 weeks or something like that and there is so much that can still go wrong. i would be crippled if everything went pear shaped towards the end. mould or rot or mites, or worse i ripped it all and fucked up the drying process faaark i dont know what i would do

dude i have exactly the same in me brain 24/7 i can barely sleep some nights i think it'll be the first grow that will fuck me mentally..
and smaller numbers are bad relying on just a few not several can be very fucking hard!! i started with 25 got down to like 10 very quick... now we made clones and things arent so scarce! Theyres babys everywhere now... so a loss isnt so heartfelt....

How much does a 400w light with a cool tube roughly weigh?
How big is a ballast and how much do they roughly weigh?
I'm planning on building a cylinder style dome that will sit over a large pot. The dome will be lined with diamond foil, be 1 metre tall and about 55 cm in diameter. Light weight so it can be moved from one pot to another (these pots are about the size of half a wine barrel). The bottom half of each pot has either gravel or sand to act as a water reservoir, which means only watering once a week (I am looking into an automated watering system). Each pot also has a worm tower, which spreads the compost and worm castings throughout the soil. Having 4 pots means I can have grow 4 plants a year and rest the pots for three grow cycles with a green manure such as wheat, barley, legumes etc etc.
So far I am thinking of cutting the diamond foil in the same design as the inside of a toilet roll (the cardboard bit). Make 2 octagonal or hexagonal shapes out of bamboo. 8 or 6 1 metre bamboo pieces and the cylinder is done. Get mum to stitch up the diamond foil with all fancy velcro and magnet latches with a little viewing hole too boot. Hang a 400w light, ballast and fan inside the cylinder so that all you need to do is light it up to get to the plant or move it to another pot. Watering can be done from outside of the cylinder and the only feeding necessary is topping up the worm tower with fresh organic matter (once a month) + resting for 9 months with 3 green manures (so not practical for the commercial grower...suckers).
Any ideas that would make this better? Even if you want to suggest something about the pots, I'm afraid they are already made, in use and working great...so just thoughts on the light and cylinder design.

how about a fan? one big enough to push the air through a carbon filter. Remember the cylinder is 1 metre tall and 55 cm in diameter.

this is being designed for a scrog...so the light will never move.
How far does a 400w HPS have to be away from the top of the buds? Will allow the light to move + or - 15 cm...

dude i stick by the olde experience when it comes to fans!... but!!!!! you have glandore and i seen that canfan max fan 150mm on special and the canfan filter light!! i spose they would do a package... i have an original canfan 150mm with carbon filter in 1.2x1.2 tent... cooling no worrys just need to make em quite! they are a lil loud i have em in plastic tubs with clothes as insulation pretty sketch looking but yeh stealth as!!!! good luck ome

anything you would want out of a 'grow dome'?
It should be like a cylinder that sits on top of a plant (even an outdoor plant). You just have to plug it in, it has the ballast, fan, light on the inside...how big would the carbon filter be? Does it have to be on the inside or outside? Sorry, don't know much about indoors, I prefer outdoors, but am pissed that my 'feminized' ssh could be male...and I can't really start another seed this late in the season...
