6 plants sounds (emphasize 'sounds') better don't you reckon jimmy
Will yield the same but just take more time to fill in the same space
:bong
Could you explain to me.
16 plants under four 600w lights will grow to the same size 6 will.
It's only when you start to have more then four under one light that they start growing smaller as they don't receive as much light as they would if it was four or less plants.
Effectively I believe if he had put 16 plants there instead of six it would have yieled 2.66 times as much as what it will with six.
But I am assuming he didn't want to possibly have another badyield compared too his fist one and wanted to test himself I guess.
Either way it looks great and I like the way the lights are setup.

yeah a 600w with a good reflector can house quite a few decent sized plants from what ive seen, but either way he should receive a massive yield. just make sure u train them a little to help increase your yield since u might have the extra space with only 1 plant under each light.

I've grown 40 under 1 light(sog) it's about the light/canopy and taking advantage of every bit in the most efficient way, whole bunch of little plants with zero vegging or 1 vegged long enough to take up the same space eg. scrog
Then theres vertical height to take into account, you don't want them too tall because the light can't penetrate and you end up with a shitload of tedious pop corn to trim. Light doesn't do much good after about a foot down.

Ozfarmers working big pots too, more smaller pots means more plumbing and work. Not to mention I'd rather have 6 then 16 if the poo hits the fan, much better.

Also Jim the general rule of pot size/root mass which is basically an ounce per 4 liters so that's 16 4 liter pots or 1 60 liter pot to achieve a pound, rough guide.

Hope that makes sense, the only thing that's costing is the extra veg but with a dedicated veg space that's no big deal, but that is now 12 plants right,

What you reckon Jimmy,
Good vibes bro.

Edit: there's also the gram/watt ratio, pulling down 2lbs per 1k is where one strives to be at.
You can measure yourself from this point of view but some people insist taking into account veg time so that 2 per light per 8week cycle, it's not as hard to achieve with plenty if veg

Yeah good vibes bro :)
I think you are making a common mistake between SOG and SCROG. The only difference between them is SCROG has a screen. It doesn't matter how many plants and how many are spread across the canopy. SOG is just a bunch of plants. SCROG was originally a bunch of plants under a screen not less plants to take up the screen.

You can veg a bunch of little plants as well it wont hurt in fact it just helps to make a shit load of bigger plants and then you just prune all the useless fan leaves to allow the light to penetrate through to the plants.

Also I don't use pots I prefer hydro so I haven't heard of that rule of thumb about 1 ounce per 4 litres. I don't know how effective that is as I have seen people do grows with like 5 or 10l buckets that have harvested 8 or more ounces.

Cheers for your input man :)

Hope I dont make any mistakes Jim because I've grown SOG and SCROG and continue to do so hahaha And I use pots in hydro too hehe
Cheers bro.
In SOG the only thing were looking to trim is the bottom lollipop it up nice, the plant stays at the perfect hirght for light peno.
That is the point of a sog, Zero veg more plants over the same area with no veg sea of green.
Cheers jimmy.

Yeh that's a minimum for sure, like 'she's in a 10 gallon pot so I'm expecting 10 bags at least' Just a guideline round the boards.
Did you check that link? 8 grows a fucking jungle, that tent is 1x1 meter, 24 bags

A plant will yield more the bigger the root mass, for anyone reading that font mean you can put a rooted clone in a big pot and wam bam, you need the root mass. From zero veg rooted clone in a 30cm pot I average 1+Oz 30cm is about 4 liters. That's the ideal size for zero veg rootmass, I learnt this originally from Al b fuct but nothing beats experience, end up answering your own questions.
