Armed dispensary guards?

In my state they need to be working for a company that requires the guards to be armed. Then they need to take a class, pass a test, and then shoot at the range showing they are able to shoot safely. That will give them a state "professional weapons permit", the same as cops have. NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH A NON-PROFESSIONAL PERMIT which is given to citizens. That type of permit is null and void if working any security type job.
That said, the wages are minimum wage on up. I worked as an armored car carrier many years ago, and got a little over min. wage, and had to provide my own weapon and ammunition. Other places will issue you what you need.

wtf, minimum wage? I wouldn't drag my ass out of bed for the minimum wage let alone have to carry a gun at what I do.

So they don't get paid much huh? Do most dispensaries have armed guards or just nightclub bouncers with a fancy title?

Kushism in Denver has at least one, this is one big fucking guard too, he needs no gun. I'm betting he makes more than the minimum wage. P.S. they have some shitty hash.

The dude had so much shit on his belt I dunno wtf he had, he was ready for some shit though, fucking criminals are the problem . I feel kinda intimidated going into a place that has to have an armed guard. Here in Denver there were some armed robberies of dispensaries, somebody shot a fucking criminal I believe. Most of the shit probably happens in the hood and local gov seems to try to keep the dispensaries and grow ops in the hood where nobody cries about it. Fucking morons.

Armed private security gives me the fucking creeps. They're either moonlighting cops, which is fine, or they're dudes that for whatever their special reason is, aren't allowed to be cops, which is creepy.

"alwayspackin" bowls i hope.. if not bowls.. its the cowboys like you that are making the industry look bad...
Actually it's heat that I'm packin and I don't do it because I want to be a bad ass or something; I carry because it's my right and I worked hard to earn it an because there are real threats in this world. I bet you wouldn't like it if your neighbor placed a huge sign on his front lawn with an arrow pointing towards your home that says "my neighbor doesn't believe in gun rights and doesn't posses any guns and out of respect for his beliefs I will not use any of my guns to protect him or his family", would you? It's not people like me that make the "industry" look bad, it's the swarms of perfectly healthy looking people that are standing in line and laughing while waiting for a free eighth of a gram; people who are using the protection of mmj as a scapegoat! Don't tread on my rights pal!

Don't knock it, it's a living. When I was an armored car carrier, I looked at carrying as protecting my ass, not the money I was hauling as it wasn't mine. Someone wants it, I'll load it for them as long as they leave my wallet alone.
I have been carrying as a permitted citizen for twenty years, and never had an issue. You would never know, and I am not a gang banger look alike, and I wear everything from jeans to suits. No one would ever know if I am carrying or not unless I had a legal reason to pull it.
Not all of use gun people are bad people.

Agreed 100 percent, you would never know I was packing either because it's deeply concealed and I'm clean shaven and clean cut (basically I don't look like a banger or a felon or a cowboy) and I don't walk around acting like I'm some Billy bad ass or someone with a chip on their shoulder. I don't put myself in a position where I might face a threat like the ghetto or the bar/club scene and if for some rare reason someone decided to make me their taget I would do anything I could to resolve it and just get away!

How much do they get paid and what licenses, permits, or certification do they need?
I don't know. But I do know there is a company called treeline security that specializes in that sort of thing. They cover all of cali and will do armed/unarmed security, pay is anywhere from $12 and hour for basic rent a cops to $45 an hour for off duty or retired armed police officers. They do armored car transportation as well.
