I don't think you can MAKE them wait outdoors. It's all about the sun cycle. But unless they are autoflower, they shouldn't be flowering this early, we are less than one month from the longest day of the year.
yeah if u hang some lights outside and turn em on for a few hours after sunset, it keeps em in veg. just a few cfls will do the job.

ive got 3 UK cheese about 3ft tall, in 10gal smart pots. one platinum bubba kush and one sour D, both in 5gal buckets about a foot tall but lst'd.
theyve all been flowering for 1-3 weeks now

For me the Purple Trash and Platinum Bubba are pre flowering at the moment. Everything else is starting to really show sex. :)

Ab, it looks like my trash is doing the fast dense growth and may be starting to flower. Hard to know, all my clones came with, and still have white hairs

ya the bigger the better for me too, believe me.

i just dont want someone to be able to see them over the carport we have on the side yard.

i'm gonna have to put up some sort of barrier.

I had one plant starting to show preflowers but now it looks like its getting a bit confused, leaves are curling a litttle bit in circles (a sign that the plant is reverting to vegetative growth. found this info in Ed Rosenthals marijuan growing book), i think it wants to stay in veg but it knows it has to start flowering soon.

All the rest of my plants are vegging strong i'm loving it.

I've got this OG Kush girl growing on my deck in San Francisco, CA. I'm very inexperienced with growing, and I'm a little worried about the temps in the city. As Mark Twain said, "The coldest winter of my life was the summer I spent in San Francisco."

I'm a new resident here, and it seems that even in the summer it often doesn't get out of the 60' here (sometimes lower 60's). Also, it is in the 50's pretty much every night. On the other hand, we also have quite a few days that are sunny and in the upper 60's or mid 70's. But the other half of the time it is foggy and in the upper 50's.

What do you think? Will she give up the goods, or is this environment too harsh? I've got her in a place where she gets about 6 to 8 hours of sun per day (if the sun is out). I'm considering buying a grow box to flower her indoors with. I also may take some clones off her soon in case something goes bad. That way I can try again indoors if she doesn't flower well. I really like her genetics.

She has hairs (she's had since I bought her as a teen), but no actual buds yet.

thanks for any help you can provide.

jsn9333 i wouldnt worry but if u are really worried get a plastic painters tarp to protect it a little bit. also 6-8 hours isnt bad people do grows in the winter jan feb march etc in green houses and even make shift plastic green houses lol ... i wanna move to sf soon i wanna grow on a balcony lol i wouldnt be concerned..the fog might concern me idk tho

Thanks MediMaryUser. I'll just leave her out and see how it goes then. It may get less foggy as the summer wears on. September is typically the warmest and sunniest month here in the city (so I'm told).

She already had hairs/pistils when I got her (recently). So I've been feeding her with something with more P. Does that sound right?

Actually, right now I'm using shultz 10-15-10 b/c it is all my local hardware store had and I was in a rush. I feel like if I get my lazy butt down to the hydro store I may be able to get something with like ~30 P value that might give me bigger flowers. I'm just not sure whether it would increase the yield substantially more...

my sativas are flowering I just swapped them over to open seseame. though one of the guys at one of my local hydro shop said just to keep blasting them with nitrogen to keep the growth up. though I now figure fuck it .. I'll just have to take each one on a case by case basis.

Now that I think about MediMaryUser's comment... where would be a place to get good quality greenhouse plastic? Would that be somewhere like Lowe's, or a hydro shop, or maybe just one of those local nursery/gardening type places? I'm thinking it might be a good idea for me to get some chicken wire and make a very quick one plant greenhouse setup (just wrap the wire and cut some vent holes). Any suggestions (especially if you're familiar with the San Francisco bay area) would be appreciated.

Why dont you just start your own thread.

You'll probably find some answers there.

I'm new to CA (and the bay area), and I figured since this was a CA specific outdoors thread it was a good place to ask about experiences buying outdoor grow products in a CA area.

Good idea though; I should just make a new thread I suppose. Thx.

hey jsn9333, i think u should grow indoors next time. those low temps will really help out with cooling. and also u wont have to worry about that san fransisco fog during flowering(mold)

You know, I think that's great advice the more I think about it. I'm going to go buy a grow tent set up this weekend and just finish her off indoors after I take a few clones. The OG Kush will probably go late in the season outdoors, and it will only get cooler. I'd hate to sacrifice growth in those final critical two to three weeks. Just in the few weeks I've had her outside I can watch her growth slow considerably when a cold front comes through.

So I guess this is it for the outdoors CA grow thread. : ( Wish my temps were a little warmer here in SF. But happy buds and good luck to you all!!

??? Why would u suggest that?
I would suggest waiting to the first of August because your plants are still vegging and have about another full week to grow as much as they can before they start producing flowers.

Shoot.... you might get an extra ouce worth in growth in this last week. The plant will still grow in flowering but not as much. So to maximize your harvest I would wait. Shit...I mean if you waiting 7 months all together like me...what's another week..
