I also live in socal and started the plant in May. Nine weeks later it's about 2ft long. Yesterday it started to show pistils, today has a bit more. I'm not to sure on the strain of the plant, it was a bag seed.

Fuck yeah.

I've been ripped off too many times, any bud is definetly better than no bud.

I'm assuming you are growing outdoors.(You'd be surprised at some of the things I've seen over many years. Straight question.)

You're a few hundred miles South of me. Your plants should finish a few days later, in SoCal.

I'd really like to see current pix, because heavy budding this early is unheard of, unless your plants are autoflowering.

How big are those that are flowering?
I in SD CA and I have plants in full bloom too Indies and natives also have some.that are not of each ??????

is that an autoflower? if not, it sure did start flowering early.
Yeah well like I said it was a free seed with no other info and none that I can find. Can't find another bubba red dwarf bean to buy but I do have a clone (which is in flower?) No idea why it started so early but it's chock full of bud at the moment (6 large colas) I'm hoping the clone survives. We'll see what she produces here soon.
I'll post a couple pics if I can figure the journal stuff out. Kinda dense re: that stuff but I'll give it a whack. Extremely differnt plant from the others.

OK, so pre flowering just barely starting...Plant is 21/2 feet. Should I wait? What do I do to stop the process and put back into veg state?

Outdoor you cant stop it. When mother nature says its time then its time.

You can probly slow it down by pumping it full of nitrogen, like blood meal or bat guano, but i would definetly not recommend doing this you'll probably just end up confusing the shit out of it.

If its starting to bud then give it flowering nutrients and your buds will be as big as they can be.

I don't think nitrogen has anything to do with flowering or slowing it down. The light cycle determines flowering, all nutes do is feed the plant what it needs. Obviously nutes designed for flowering will nourish the plant and help it along, but they'll flower whether you feed them nitrogen, bloom nutes or just water

Too much Nitrogen will cause the buds to stretch, leaving them looser than if fed bloom nutes.

I use ratios of 2-1-1 for veg, and 1-4-3 for buds.

Must have some sativas then.

My really indica dominant clones have started to flower pretty nicely, but the ones from seed still havent starting growing flowers.
Just a few hairs here and there.
