When I made the switch to hydro there wasn't a whole lot of Googling going on and my drip, DWC, and other setups were, shall we say, pfffff. As much as I gripe about all of the misinformation, newb as a pro advice, and just plain assholeish (if thats a word lol) responses, this and other forums have helped. Hopefully OP realizes that if he can't find a "grow school", he can and must read about growing to pull out the good from the bad. The grow journals were a big help for me but also keep in mind that all grows are different, even if subtly. Just one example was the time and research spent trying to figure out why I was having to add 3-4 times the PH down than most, then chasing it, my well water was the culprit and other than switching to RO (not possible) I had to look for an alternative that worked, only took about 4 years of trial and error and find others that had figured out solutions. Also don't get caught up in all of the GPW references when starting out or you'll get an inferiority complex, I did lol. And if a true beginner and wanting to do this as a "make money thing" then I would suggest finding a spot outdoors and planting the hell out of it lol. We made far more outside than in, but yes things have changed, that's why I'm retired :). Sorry for rambling ........ way to high lol.

Read up on keeping a tropical house plant. Get yourself an African violet.
After learning about tropical's and keeping them indoors.
pH, soil structure, relative humidity, temps and lighting/lighting times.....All covered by African violets....
If you can get that African Violet to bloom, you shouldn't have any problem with MJ.

Thank god you referenced fish, I was just about to drain the res and turn off the lights due to pending failure. I've killed every fish I've tried to raise :).
