so i have got into a debate with another grower making how to videos on youtube that said no matter what roots on all plants will always grow down. obviously he is not a botanist and has never heard of root suckers or basal shoots. it took a whole two seconds to find a wealth of web stuff talking about. out of curiosity do any one know for sure whether it is possible with cannabis for this to happen either way? do you have a link to a web page that supports it. i was reading the page on the link above under the rooting section, it seems like it is possible if the nitrogen levels are high and the auxin is low. obviously this happens a lot with fruit trees and other plants, but i have never seen it in cannabis my self. is it possible on a rare occasion this could happen with cannabis under the right conditions?

I bought a book on growing sensimilla back in the late 1970's, considering that Columbian was the rage at that time and Mexican was the norm.
Interesting that they went into detail that you can graft Hop plant to the marijuana stem with no problem. The two would genetically accept one another. They did use a grafting solution (powder) and I would say is what we use today for cloning. They didn't claim you would get the hops to
develop THC though, just the fact that the genetics were there. It would be interesting to graft ruderalis with hops for it's fiber value, no THC in either genetics. The hops could still be used for malting (beer) and also as a health "hemp" type beverage and the vine would produce ten times the volumn of fiber. I think there is some merit to this idea as a agra product.
