I think roots organic soil blows unless you amend it. Seems to me it is coco based and contains little nutrients. I prefer fox farm soils with a little added guano and worm castings. Then I can use plain water for at least a month. Just be ready to start feeding at the first sight of deficiency.

I use it. Grobo is right, is doesn't have a lot of nutes in it, but that's why I like it. I can control what nutes the plants needs better, IMO. I give it some guano tea once in a while, that and molasses with RO water is all it needs.

I can also get it locally for cheap, always a consideration...

Or just use danky nutes on the less hot material. Thats what I do, and I get respectable results. I generally would mix my own using vermiblend compost, coir, and perlite in a 2:5:3 ratio but i have been using root organics, nuted it to start.

i love the roots organic lines of soil. and i also think that having it come with no nutrients is a bonus. roots organic and my line or botanic care nutes work beautifully.

I think Roots Organic is cheap. I dislike there soil about as much as MG. But I will say they have 2 products I like very much, that is Trinity and Extreme Serene. Other than those two I don't care for it.
There soil is best for flowering not veging.

i used bhudda bloom on an old grow of mine and I also use roots 707 blend of soil. I used bhudda bloom on a plant that wasn't going to bud much (200W blue cfl (first grow) ) after I rescued it from the rain, moved it inside and started giving it nutes it exploded with popcorn sized nugs. and the taste was phenomenal. i was happy using bhudda bloom hope it works the same for you :weed:

been using the full line of RO nutes and i must say that i dont have any problems. are you sure you guys didnt get the soilless medium. it has more coco and perlite in it. been using FFOF for 3 seasons now and think ill be switching to RO soil next season. dont like the new mix of FFOF, seem to HAVE TO water 3 times a week now. oregonism bacteria , fukin awsome, need i say more. trinity and extream serene, just as good. ancient amber, not so convinced but lumic acid (sp?) is an essencial building block of plants. the grow and the bloom, could do a whole season with just the 2 of these (would need cal/mag still). the hpk and hp2......... hell who doesnt like more phos bat poop. havent done a side by side compairison of some with he hpk and hp2 vs. just more bloom but i will tell ya the 3rd (nearly) problemless season and things couldnt be looking more beautyful. the only prob ive had was with (what i had figured) my ph meter had became a little off from my storage placement for one night, and had given me higher reading than i shoulda had, locking out cal and mag. i had stored my meter accidently in a glass masonjar with r/o water overnight.

ro is pretty good and keps my soil at a 6.0 runoff funny thing is it does seem to be running some sort of n,k or mag deff. i did 12/12 from seed used no veg ferts and started using botanica line pro bloom and calc mag and its doing swell other then for the yellow of the bottom shoot leaves and base leaves which trn yellow, and have a little black spot the crubles eventually.yeah what the hell is that i think im deff not feeding enough! and recommendations, i have bat guano, ppureblend grow and bloom cal mag+ "sweet" unsulphed molasses.im brewing a guano tea as we speak on its third day ready to deliver what she needs!!!!

dude absolutely no way. have you used roots before? if you did then you must of took a dump in it! Roots organic is absolute fucking gold, here's a list of everything in it that is great :) coco fiber, peat moss, pumice, perlite, compost, mulch, bat guano, worm castings, kelp meal, fish bone meal, soybean meal, prilled rock phosphate, feather meal, greensand, leonardite, alfalfa meal, oyster shell flour and glacial rock dust! what other amendments would you use? You wouldn't add shit because it doesn't need it! Roots will sustain your plants with plenty of food for at least a month no nutes are needed, I've done so and have had tremendous results! Yeah I'm a big fan of this soil haha. Fox farm is okay too though I've definitely used it in the past, and actually still do with seedlings haha. but mr. "unless you amend it" is completely wrong. Give a try! :D :) :weed:

AT my local hydro shop they do a side by side between RO and FF, no nutes just plants water and soil. The RO looks much better.
None the less I love FF and always had great results, but now I am going organic and figure I will try there soil.
I did by some Budda bloom and something else, yuch. Thats good stuff. Full of all kinds of good organics.

Hate to burs everyones bubble but FOx Farm is not an organic company. The make one kind of nutrient that is certafied organic, but everything else including soil is chemmy. Rock the pro mix(75%pete moss w vermiculite and perlite) with wormcastings. Best organic mix yet

my plants love RO, i use there nutes an there soil. theres a few diff kinds of soil they make so maybe those of you that dont like it dident buy the correct one for your goals. theres a mix that has a much higher N content to start with then there other one that you can fill in around with when you uppot before flower. to the guy that said its nearly as bad as MG, if thats the case im switching to MG asap cuz MG is hella cheap. (kidding)
