Anyone know the outcome of that last Attitue credit card compromise scare?

A couple years back I made an order thru the 'tude w/ my bank visa debit card. Well I got a call about 7am on a Sunday morning. it's the "visa security team" and they wanted to know if I'd try to make a purchase at around 2 am online at the itunes store? I said no, and they told me someone had attempted to use my card at that time to make a .99cent purchase of a song. They said that's usually what happens. The thief's try and make a small purchase to make sure the info they have about the card is correct :address, name, pin, etc., and then go on to make bigger purchases!
Now I do have to say this, at about the same time my wife and I had tried to purchase one of those music cd's off of tv, one of the ones w/ a bunch of diff songs, Rock ballads or something, and we were never sure if it was thru that transaction or the 'tude purchase that our info got stole and someone tried to use it, but my bank "investigated it" and did ask me about the attitude gift shop. I told 'em I had made a purchase thru them on the internet but that I thought it may have been the music cd order that was the scam. (CD never did come) Long story short: The bank refunded the .99 cent purchase, canceled the debit card and gave me another one. But I was a lil worried about them asking me about the 'tude purchase. But when you google attitude gift shop, you get the result of an actual gift shop , in England, w/ that name, so I felt confident they wouldn't think much of that. And now I've made 3 or 4 more orders since w/o a problem!
Bottom line is this: Go ahead and use your own card, if something goes down, it's all explainable (there's an actual attitude gift shop that sells t-shirts and such in England) and the bank will refund any money that's taken w/o permission.
Too long? sorry lol

Glad it all worked out for you ! I just worry about our govt getting involved. I remember the days of green merchant and am paranoid to boot.

Yea that sting they did thru the head/grow shops back in the early nineties right? I was a kid then but remember reading about it in high times. seems like forever ago, but prob. is something to take into consideration. I just think being to paranoid is bad for the soul! And also, I keep my orders small so it's not such a "big deal" ya know?

It seems like the war on drugs comes in cycles and I don't trust the govt. I remember they were trying to get names any way they could from shops and trying to get them from HT. I try not to be too paranoid, but I will never use a CC for anything non legit.

I like your sig. It seems weird to see it as I never see it in the Club, lol.
