Anyone know the outcome of that last Attitue credit card compromise scare?

I read on here about a recent order from the 'tude resulting in someone's credit card being compromised.

Forum admin(s) mentioned they'd follow-up on it. I'm not seeing the outsome (maybe just not finding it)...
Can someone post a status update? I was about to order but held off due to that.

Reading more it sounded like they'd been hacked a few times?? Then their "coming in 2012" video even
mentions beefing up security so perhaps there's a history there? They have major problems with getting hacked often?

I never had this problem. I was told by the person I get my seeds from that he uses a prepaid credit card and has never had this problem. Never give anyone access to all your money by using a credit card that is attached to a bank. Only prepaid cards are the way to go. That's what I would do if I ever ordered that way.

I completely agree with the Philosopher. I know people with a main account, then a security account that they pop a few bucks into off their main to make an online purchase for the amount the buy it for. Also, with seed sites, you can't easily go to the Better Business Bureau complaining about not getting your product. Unless your seeds are worth your liberty.

It's easy enough to use your reg CC number, get your order and then just tell your bank you lost your CC somewhere shopping. The bank will cancel it and send you a brand new shiny one usually for free. Done and done. ; )

The last post on the thread in question was by an admin of this site and he said that attitude was using a secure 3rd party for processing their orders so the problem was not because of attitude. I think the thread was then closed.

I would use a money order for your security anyway. Most prepaid cards are not for international use and the ones that are usually want some kind of info on you....

Gotcha. I'll look for the pre-paid international cards. I bet they'd be readily found at an airport perhaps??

As for the CC fraud stuff... yeah.. just went through it... had my card compromised 99% sure and caught
myself giving them too much info on an automated phone call (phishing sceme). So I just went through
the whole cancel/re-issue ordeal... and it's a pain in the ass when you live off your card. So skip that one!

So Money Orders will work... hmmm... suppose that's just as good as any other option. Of course that means
a longer turn around time since you have to mail in your order rather than submit online... they're not
shipping product without payment in hand I would hope! ;-)

From the past threads on this, members had posted Attitude's response as saying they would take care of it. Did anybody hear feedback on that?
I feel like they've been pretty good with past customer service and wouldn't let this type of thing slide. I like using money orders for this type of reason.
It was very surprising to read about the phishing comment, any sort of solicitation that involves asking too many questions should raise a red flag. Seems like a pretty crazy development and I hope they fix all the mess. You can't sell anything if you lose customer trust!

My CC# was stolen last month and the ONLY transaction on it was beans from Attitude. So..caveat emptor.

All the threads pertaining to this, and there were many, have been deleted. Lots of Attitude ads on RIU. Doubt that's a coincidence, but neither is it a solution to the problem.

Yes it does add about 4 more days, but that's not a whole lot. IMO it is worth it in the long run. No worrying about theivery and there is no trail. Also you can use any name you want. And no they will not ship it before the MO arrives....

Yeah. Their credibility with CC's seems at best "in question" at the moment IMO... from what I'm hearing.

And if this thread disappears... well... we know what's up!

If I don't find the international CC I'll just look into the MO... or maybe... just maybe... use a CC that isn't
associated to my bank (i.e. debit card)... that way I'd just have to challenge/contest and get a new card/number...

I looked into the prepaid cards and they require you to register them with a phone and address. Also they charge you a monthly fee to maintain them besides charging you when you add money to them. It is cheaper and just as easy to make an order selecting the MO option then drive to walmart and pay the 60 cent fee and be done with it. Once you get going the few extra days won't seem bad. Attitude is pretting quick in getting them out. Good luck !

So - how would you "lock in" a deal with the 'tude like their offer this weekend - when using a MO since they wouldn't get
the transaction/order until after the deal.

I call total bullshit on that. There certainly has never been "many" threads about this and we do not delete threads without very good cause. I doubt your honesty, considering it's your very FIRST post. How's your seed business doing? Maybe you should consider selling them through Attitude.

Good call out. I didn't really pay attention to who the posting was from. I've placed an order. Time will tell. I went with the CC# that wasn't a bank/debit card.

One small beef... and not unique to the 'tude... They don't take Discover... which was the preferred card to use... but luckily I had one other option which was a Visa...

When you go to check out it puts the freebees on there too and when the MO arrives you get them also. They give you time to send it in and if you are prompt I don't see them changing any prices on you. You still get an order # and you can still check the status online. Call me paranoid, but I don't trust my security over the internet to do this type of transaction. Good luck.

I tried and my CC got declined and my CC temporarily disabled (by my bank). I had to call them and confirm my attempt at the purchase to get it reactivated. Instead I sent cash in an envelope, 14 days later seeds are here. Will never try a CC again, although it isn't their fault but some banks apparantly know that Attitude isn't just a t-shirt company in the UK.

Looking back I'm glad I used cash because there is no paper trail. Just conceal your cash well in an envelope, dont include your return address, and only include your order number in the letter, no information that identifies you personally.

Amen to no paper trail ! I am afraid cash would have a higher chance of getting ripped than a MO. Glad you got your beans.
