But you you still need 400PPF. Not 250. Youd need 2 of them. But are still not as efficient as the HLG, Gavita, or Phillips. A 240w Gavita would be over 400PPF.

For absolute max yield maybe. For the average grower, one will get the job done.

All I have to go by is they say its 250PPF.

Going by lumens the Hortilux 400w HPS is 55,000 lumens the Kingbright 240w is only 12,000 lumens. Going by that youd need 4 of them to equal the lumen output of the 400w Hortilux HPS.

1000w Hortilux HPS is 145,000 lumens.

600w Hortilux is 88,000 lumens.

Al least I admitted my mistake. But its still not optimal for a 2 x 2. One needs 400PPF for a 2 x 2 for optimal results. Going by Gavita specs one would need 425PPF, and going by Phillips one would need 450PPF. Not 250PPF.

Im never averse to admitting when Im wrong. Only a fool argues when they are obviously wrong.

Yeah it should be fine, especially for autos. Run it at least 20 hours/day

They will work. Just not optimum. Many things can work. My response is only based on what Gavita, Phillips, HLG recommend as optimal for the space. I try not to give an opinion. I figure the factory has done the research, and I dont second guess the manufacturers.
They say minimum 1600PPF for a 4 x 4, and I use that as my guide.

yes, you can replace a 400w HPS with it, its one of the best lights in terms of quality for a price. Only specific western boards are slightly better but ofc more expensive...

Hello @jimihendrix1 , although Kingbrite is one of the more reputable manufacturers on Alibaba, some of their numbers should be taken with a grain of salt.

That being said, I believe you are confusing Photosynthetic photon flux (PPF) and photosynthetic photon flux density (PPFD)

PPF is a measurement of a given fixture's total light output.

PPFD is a measurement (or multiple measurements) of light intensity within a given space.

Id just go with a HLG for the $$ vs performance, and not guess.

Im going by whats stated on the site. If theres a mix up, its on them. Again. Guessing.

I myself like Gavita, Fluence, Phillips, HLG. No need to use anything else. They are reliable, and dont overrate their products.

What's up man, these boards are great! I currently have the QB288, qb120 and qb132 running. I would recommend not buying these boards from Alibaba. Who knows what bin diodes you are getting? Top bin only from horticulture lighting group(they also have kits) Growerslights.com also has good deals for the same boards. I have the 600H, 2 260 kits, 6 qb 132 (2 hlg 240h 1750a) flowering a 2 x 4 and 8 qb120 (2 2x4 tents) (2 hlg 240h 2100a drivers). They all work great.

Even if Kingbrite is not using top bin LM301B, I would wager that the linked light has a total output of 500 PPF or greater.

Still just guessing. I still wouldnt use anything but Samsung/Osram Diodes regardless.
