Anyone Else Fell Like Cali?

That only speaks of medical marijuana, it says nothing about pot for recreational use.

I wonder...... even though the fed considers weed illegal for recreational use, if CA does pass their legalization law, will the fed turn away the tax dollars generated? They can't have it boths ways, they're going to have to pick a side and the projected US deficit for the next 10 years is not a pretty number.

I hope CA passes it, then the winds can blow the law eastward.
if california legalizes it with AB390, it's going to REQUIRE federal government response. due to the taxation of a prohibited substance, the feds have to lift the ban on the substance otherwise it cannot be taxed.

so in order for AB390 to fully work, the feds have to change their laws. so if AB390 passes, the FEDS are most likely going to change their laws even more. most likely for the better.

MMJ is being taxed out in cali already. The taxes are paid by the sellers and sent both to the fed gov and state. The state takes most of the taxes but THE FEDS DO TAKE TAXES FROM SELLING MARIJUANA

Exactly, they won't be able to get away with busting and taxing both. They've have to pick a side and their current side isn't a money maker. Our side is not only a money maker it's a money saver for them.

They dont half to pick a side. The federal government is already receiving tax money from these marijuana ops in California. California takes most of it but the feds take a little chunk.

No I think the fed takes most, on that Marijuana documentary that guy at the dispensary said he pays $900K per year in taxes, $600K to federal and $300K to state.

You know, every medical grow op that got busted should sue for taxation without representation. They shouldn't be collecting tax dollars from somthing they consider "illegal", if they take the tax dollars, aren't they a party to the "crime"

OK, I promised myself I would stay away from government topics today. I must chillax.

Why won't they be able to tax the "legal"MM grows and sales, and keep on busting the "illegal" grows and users at the same time???:eyesmoke:

I just like my weed, nothing stonger. I think if someone showed me heroin I'd run away screaming. I don't even drink anymore, I can't take the hangover, it's not worth the trouble.

It was actually really easy for me to stop drinking. I'm not a person who can just have a drink or 2. I'm either all the way in or all the way out.

Too many nights of all in ( I like shots, never could drink beer....blah) and the hangovers started lasting for 2 days. Fuck that. I stopped and never looked back.

Tobacco is another story, I've quit a good 10 times, but here I am smoking anyway. I wish I could get sick from it like alcohol for a couple of days, might be easier to put down forever.

Every time I quit and weed drought happens and I start back up again. I suck at quitting.

Less crowded prisons also means less jobs. Private prisons are a multibillion industry that is really thriving right now. They are building prisons everywhere and hiring guards. These are welcome industries in most areas now with the economy in such bad shape and so many people unemployed.Just another aspect to think about.
What about the people LOSING their jobs by being thrown in prison???

What about people who have a stupid little pipe possession charge on their record, say good bye to any job that pays anything, they won't hire you with that on your record.

I hope the government is ready to shell out a lot of food stamps. I know too many people who can't get a decent job because of a little bullshit charge on their record like that.

Government stops them from getting good jobs, government can pay, in cash for the stupidity of the laws.
