Anyone doing over 3lb / 4x4 using LED's?

In fact, we're expecting just that - 3lb - from 800w of LED above. But our space is just a little more than 4x4 (two 3x3 stations), and we grow in coco run-to-waste.

I can't take full credit for it. I designed and helped a friend set it up. You could say I told him what to do and he did it, lol! He's a commercial grower - I grow on a much smaller scale. But after he saw my results with LED, I built a couple of Samsung strip frames for his veg cabinets and later the QB324 panels in his flower room. He lets me try stuff out in his big room as I have limited space at my place.

I also did his clone selection for him. It's Wappa from Paradise Seeds and it really is a whopper in terms of 7-8 week yields! Smells like a sweet, dead skunk and has a nice, uplifting high.

80 would fit. The point of a sog grow is many single cola plants. It would be a pain to water but would fit.

Nothing wrong with t5. Though they are better now than they used to be. I used to hit 10-12 zips in a 2x4 with a 4ft 8 bulb light. 2 plant scrog.

Will you have it for the auto comp?
I got a 4x4 for a veg tent and plan on using it in the comp and I need to upgrade my lighting.
Not sure what I'm going to do yet.
Will the next comp be in 2019?

We've seen almost 2 grams per watt under LED, so it's feasible to hit 3+ lbs from less than 800w. Difficult, I'm sure, but feasible. Again, the space is the limiting factor, not the type of light.

The question posed by this thread is the wrong question. It's not whether 3 lbs can be pulled by LED in a 4x4, it's whether 3 lb can be pulled in a 4x4. Of course the answer is "yes", because it's been done, but we all know it's a tough target to hit. And it raises another question - unless you have a hard limit on your space, why would you opt for a 4x4 under that much light? You'll surely see greater yield with the same power used in a 5x5. Hanging a DE Gavita or 750-800 watts of LED in a 4x4 wastes some light, due to wall losses, so to truly optimize, a larger footprint is warranted.

I feel way behind here. I am hoping for 2 units (but probably will only get 1 - 1.5) out of my 5x5 with around 800-900 watts of home made strips. This grow I have been battling mites for the first time. I hate these bugs!!!! These really have hurt my plants and I'm sure my yield. Stupidly, I put a little lime tree from Home Depot in my tent and it contaminated the area and all the plants.

Probably not. I will be testing a new led that will be run in the 2x4 cab.

The 4x4 or 5x5, I haven't decided, will likely be over 700 watts as I will be adding some t5 back in for uv.

230 par watts (400w - 8 CLU058-1825s at 50w each) in a 28x52" tent yielded 24 ounces in hydro from a 2 plant scrog. 73 g/sqft. Works out to 2.6 lb. if done in a 4x4 with same emitters/drive current at 650w output.

This was with Headband, mid yield, 900 ppm Maxigro/bloom solution topped off daily with full strength, no CO2, no chiller.

3 lb from a 4x4 is very possible. Probably not something a beginner will pull off but also not a crazy proposition.
