Ants All Over My 2 Week Old Clones In dirt aphids 2 ithnk

few days ago there was a shit load of ants in three off my clones they in ocean forest in solo cups and there was a few ants in the other cups i had cleared them today iwas goin to transplant nd i seen sum red bugs on my root ball nd some white or greyish ones to all my 9 plants had dem ididnt know what to do i cleaned up all my area spray it with ant cleaner then wipped down everything with clorox and i took all my plants nd washed off all da dirt nd washed the root ball then transplanted in new cups with fresh dirt,, but idk ithink some must have not gotten washed off idk what to do i dont have much money im growing with cfl nd solo small pots,, whats good for root aphids or watever they are im guessing the ants brought them

probably aphids.... the ants eat some shit they excreat or something like that either way just keep em off maybe some insecticidal soap or look up an organic remedy for aphids on google. I think you can just use dish soap in water but you may want to google it first

i aready got rid off all the ants and cleaned up everything, as for the aphids i washed off all the dirt and the roots and replanted in fresh dirt i will apply some to kill aphids when they bounce back from shock, but il lok up what i can use,,

and sorry no pics i did everything as fast as i could i hate ants and seeing those bug on my root ball was irritating

Ants will farm & protect the aphids. Its a mutualistic relationship.

aphids are phloem feeders, sucking up mainly sugar. Because they constantly feed from the pressure of the phloem they excrete honeydew while they eat. its their waste but its pretty much 99.99999% sugar.

The ants eat it and protect the aphids from predators.

you either are going for a microbe friendly or synthetic method to deal with the root aphids.
I have heard great things about azamax, but was super expensive when i saw it and haven't had issues, so I haven't had to buy any.
But I was also reading people use peppermint/rosemary type oil mixes and spray down the roots when they take the plant out, but these oils can harm microbial life so you gotta be very careful re-washing and balancing the microbes again.
