Well, I am starting a new round in the fridge. DIY hand sewn smart pot, almost 2 gallons.
Cut down the last round very early @ Day 43 and I am off and running since I had a girl in veg for about 6 weeks now? [I don't know have to check the notes.]

Turned it back up to 13.5 on/9.5 off. Maybe first 10 days or so....
50/50 perilite/organic soil mix
50w's Led Light Bulbs 2700k Cree 10w [x4]
3000k Phillips 10w [x1]

Put her in this afternoon, definitely not looking loved and she was perked later on this evening, so good things, positive push :peace:

Mites either broad or cyclamen had really gotten at the under canopy and I just kind of said fuck it. I will make some --chronic.back.spasms go-away.oil-- with it, no worries.

I got a decent haul and I had just gone down to 11.5 on/12.5 off and they were fattening up a bit...ehhh.

As for post whoring, I won't clutter it up too bad. Having 2 cabs just means I need separate threads, thoughts, .saftety meetings and excuses etc. Hopefully it won't turn it when keeping it real, goes wrong.:joint:

Day 10

I think its day 10 or so, tied down a little bit to even out the canopy and have been wavering between 6-8" of distance.

Took covers off my Cree bulbs to get a little more PAR, found a new way without the OVEN!

Yep, just shy of two weeks.

  • Do have to say that soaking lavendar pieces in H20 for 24-48 hours and then adding with Dr B's peppermint soap and little bit of coconut water, has been masking any existence of bugs. Gotta love it :peace: Positive pUsh
  • I have just about damn near killed my other cab, but this is the one thing I have gotten right in my quest for indo.
  • AACT of Stinging Nettle/Horsetail -next feeding! Then more coco water and some aloe [if I can find it]



Anyhoo....distance at around 6" and 55watts [5 added lol and I have another 9.5watt to add, just can't find my adaptor...]

So as you can see, there are 4 of the Cree's w/ the globes off.

Two of them were the older style Warm White 2700K, but one is a 6w and one is a 9.5w.
This style was a biatch, both times a shattered the bulbs on these guys and in the oven too. The other two were the newer style SW 2700k 9.5w's.
These were the non oven type. I got them warm in my fixtures after a few hours and then cut the bead of glue where the globe is seated just like the Warm White bulbs. But this glue is different I sliced it with a little penknife and then started probing the edge of the globe and the glue was quite strong enough to hold and I peeled it off.



The warm whites seem to have different type of glue, although the globe on my 6w WW just came off, needed nothing. Some will. The newer Soft White's don't seem to work in the oven [don't budge at all] but a longer heating period might be the secret.
I did try and pry one of the Warm Whites this way and shattered it! So the older ones, should be watched out for.....

Here is the difference, you can tell in heatsinks, if you don't have a package handy...

Nice, and for the record, I wrote highly not because I doubted you, but because I was, and still am as baked as a cake.

I was thinking about it, and I'd be willing to bet, granted this is only a haunch, that with patience and a way to keep the bulb rotating you could probably get them off with a heat gun as well.

Anywho I'm sub'd for the ride, wanna see the outcome.:bigjoint:

No worries dude, never even crossed my mind!

A heat gun is a rad idea, you could still grab hold of the base or the globe and rotate while you heat. I have always been worried about cooking that ceramic material around the metal base when cooking it in the oven, so this would be a easier solution than the oven, that's for sure.

Gonna have to try it out, I have one retired from a Vrip bowl extension. :peace: ...........................

Same shitty cabinet - minifridge, which works good for so many reasons: insulation, reflectance, size, etc.

using even less wattage than previous should be only 55 watts :) Still about 36w's per sq. ft [13"x 17"]

Nutes / Soil

Pretty easy soil run this time.

I try and stay organic and usually do by necessity. Outdoor has received the same treatment. Looks ok to me :peace:

I am in flower by the way......about a week maybe less.....

Last run or two for these bulbs, tried to switch to a Cree Cxa3070 light that I build myself, but haven't quite gotten there, hopefully around Christmas

Sweet man I just got some cree 2700 and 5000 in my little box and I was just wondering how yours went. im still only in veg.. I got 4 2700k and 4 5000k plus one 6500k cfl for three small plants that were clones of a plant I found in the woods lol it had flowers on it so its taken a while for them to revert back to veg. one of the clones isn't doing so hot but the two others have roots.

do you have pics of your new cree light your doing? I was thinking about trying to do that but I just didn't have the money to put all of one together

Reveg can take forever sometimes. I have a couple that are being thrown into my bigger cab....soon. I also just ran them @18 hrs just to see if they would re-veg.

[PS: The 5000k bulbs are actually 4200k, which is nice........I like the 5000k in veg with a little red and then a little 5000k in flower, with a shitload of red [deep red].Basically I like a full spectrum that white's provide from blue to violet, green, yellow, red and heat. Little heavier on the blue in veg[5k]. Then in flower, less blue, [but still about 20% of light input] and lots of red [630,660,670nm] in flower. The Cree 2700k's rock for the deeper reds. For what they are, the Cree bulbs rock!

I can't find tags420's post again, but the bulbs [9.5 watt versions] put out almost 3x the light intensity as a 26w cfl and use almost a 1/3 less power @ 9.5 watts. Fairly amazing.......


Last real run I did indoors, was with my bigger cab. I have a 27x19" floor and I grew 2 nice plants in 2 gallon pots. Used 50w's of Cree's and 60w's of the Phillips 3000k 10.5w bulbs. So 110w total.

Most I have ever had in the fridge was 70-75 watts with more splitters, but I figured I would just try to squeeze out a good from low wattage to have fun.

Thinking about gutting some cheap Ebay LED fixtures and mounting this:

Z2 Cree CXA 3070 3000k
Meanwell LPC 60-1400 Driver
Arctic Alpine 11 + CPU Cooler

My height will be 32" and then the 27x19 floors, running [4x] of the Cree Cobs. Running them soft and they will put out about 100w's of output.....Could easily do 200watts + with stronger drivers. And still less than a lot of the "higher end" led fixtures.....
Kinda thinking about just doing a 3k, 4k and 5k light all out of Cree Cobs.......tinker tinker :joint:
