Amsterdam stopping selling MJ to tourist in coffee shops ? Is this true ?

Hi to all my baked friends out there ! This weekend I read in the newspaper that Amsterdam coffee shops are going to be stopping us tourist from entering and smoking their finest booda, it is supposedly a movement from the government and not the actual "coffee-shop" owners as the proprietors are not happy with this and trying to get things back to normal. I have been going to Amsterdam every year since I was 21 and now im 27, all I want to know is, is this true or not because if it is me and the lads will be gutted.

Apparently Coffeeshop owners in the South Provences have already said it'll be business as usual...

Its not official it is being pushed through right now but the coffee shop owners and most business owners are fighting it as it will kioll amsterdamn economy. The issue is border shops cuz people smuggle the weed and seeds and hash to neighboring countries.

They never legalized weed over their they just have a gentleman's agreement not to enforce the law under certain conditions. I'd bet some districts will enforce the new law some wont.

Edit: I also think this is more targeted at tourists from surrounding countries like Germany that smuggle it back. It will be enforced near the border but I don't see them interfering with the more centrally located shops.

It cannot be passed in A'dam yet. The weed pass has been brought in in Zealand and 2 or 3 other areas but it can't be tabled in Amsterdam until 2013 and they are talking about a minimum 5 yr phase out/in period but the mayor himself has been quoted there as saying they will never allow it to pass in Amsterdam itself. As others have stated, it will probably not be enforced very well in most other areas, the dutch tend to do what they want, not what they're told.

Yep, my sentiments exactly. Our Dutch buddies do as they like and I can't blame them. Once the Brit tourists go to the dam and can't have a number, they'll get more pissed therefore more alcohol will be consumed and the Dutch wll have the same anti-social, drink fuelled problems that we have in the UK. Go down any high street in the UK on a saturday night and it won't be long before you witness a punch-up. Go to Amsterdam and get stoned..........the last thing anyone wants when ripped is to have a fight.......yet have 10 pints of stella, then think you're sugar ray leonard

really ppl fight on the streets that often in the uk, i thought us americans were the only barbarians...im jp honestly that really doesnt happen here i can go to the bars every night for a month straight and probably see one fight..and it will be inside lol....btw if im the only american here let me just say we almost all dislike our govt that is being run by corporations and elitist jews(not racist its the truth) and making us look like morons..so please dont hate us lol

I make generalisations about yanks the same way you do about jews lol actually I'm pretty good/bad at stereotyping, doesn't mean there aren't some of all you funny foreign fuckers I like and agree with
Yeah the RLD in A'dam is prob one of the seediest places in the west after dark but I've never seen a fight. Still plenty of people hustled, robbed and stabbed in the shadows but very little alcohol fueled violence

lol im not sure you eased my mind at all there....no i totally agree stereotypes exist for a reason but theirs always an exception, you find good and bad people everywhere, its up to us decent humans to challenge those stereotypes and enjoy life together in spite of!

Plus Mrs Miyagi is a canuck and loves the food and sights in the US, so I have to make friends with some of you so I can address my medicinal needs when we visit haha you're alright

no problem buying weed in Holland at the moment. When they stop selling to tourist I dont think it will be difficult to score just ask a guy at the coffeshop to buy it for you. I am sure there will be no problem.

I was in Amsterdam a few months back and I really don't see much of anything coming of this. The shops don't want it to happen whatsoever. It's all about the tourist there..which brings in a lot of money. If you think about it..it's not even legal over there...they just turn a cheek to it but of course its all about money. If they are already that corrupt over there now,you think they are gonna cut there money supply line from keeping tourist out of the shops.. I just don't see it happening. I wouldn't be surprised to see the mushrooms not being sold to tourist tho..Ive heard some stories haha.

ive heard its not all its cracked up to be anyway and you can get better herb here in the us...ill spend the 2-3000 on a vacation somewhere nicer or buy a lb of kill here instead....anyone who has gone think its a must do experience?

I'd say it's a must do at least once in your life. In general I've found every country has good and bad weed. Netherlands isn't special or magical, they grow it the same as the rest of us but still there is some good shit there and a lot of atmosphere and choices. I found only half a dozen strains that keep up with what I grow, out of over a hundred I tried last time I was over there but still I had a BLAST!

I wouldn't make the big trip from the U.S. just to hit up amsterdam.. I traveled across Europe for 16 days and hit up a handful of places,I stayed in each place for 3 days. Amsterdam was am awesome experience and worth going..Its fun to walk around and just pop into the coffee shops all over town and dick around. After 3 days I saw all I needed to see. I would say Go,just don't make it the only stop in Europe. It does suck however after you leave and then say you jump on the train for a 4 hr ride to paris and you are thinking the whole time...Damn it,I wish I could go to a coffee shop right now haha.

lol is it hard to bring weed with you if your backpacking acroos the country?? maybe a couple brownies? or is border security tight?

I left amsterdam on a train to paris..I think I could have taken shit to paris with me but as soon as we got to paris and the doors opened they had cops walking along side the train with dogs..I dont think the cops sit there all day but timing would matter. I took a space cake on the train ride and ate it on the way to paris so..treats I think you would be ok.

well it would probably just be risky...i mean dogs can supposedly smell a single bean sealed in a baggie...i guess id be better off making contacts in the countries i was gonna visit and buying locally...i know ppl in germany, one down many to go lmao

however i bring weed on planes with me alllllllll the time...anytime i go (domestically ofcourse) anywhere i bring like a quad and never worry one bit about getting caught.....heres my method if anyone cares...i take small nuglets and more pairs of socks than i will need to wear, i drop about three little nugs into each pair of socks..the way i roll em up it forms like a small pocket then pack normally with the socks near the bottom so they dont move or anything and the top layer of socks i leave empty....when you unpack the pot you have to ver carefully open the sock "pouch" so as not to get a bunch of snags and lose half your weed as crumbs....works like a charm i walk up to the airport guy OUTSIDE the airport check my bag and never see it again until i am where i should be..they dont have the resources or time to stop a plane and come get you off or keep your bag and ship it later even if they did find the shit but ive never even had my bag opened and if they ever do im sure they wont look INSIDE the socks!!!
