Also my water temps are getting kinda hot how should i get the temps down? someone said white plastic bag? I been putting ice cubes to keep it cooler good or bad idea?

any luck bazza? paper towel , bog roll , napkins - cotton wool is all the same( cotton wool can get a bit stuck to it tho so make sure its cracked shit when root gets tangled) , what i do is stick em in, fold, spray till damp and then stick inside a dvd case ( prefferably empty) couple hours under my laptop while in use or even just stuck into the space with the rest , the warmth does help but its not always needed coz i left the case just out in the room with no heating etc and some more beans cracked , even if u think they could be duds leave thema another few days , you may be as suprised as me!
hope it gets sorted matey

there should be a botton on the AG that says select keep pressing that till the one is highlighted
i dont know about ice cubes cuase i think that could when start to melt in there could change the ph and u dont want that
what kinda temps are u geting in there it shouldnt be that high its shaded from the light and everything
and with the aerogarden what are u talking about dirt?

Hey Baz. How did your last grow turn out ? I use a damp paper towel in a cd case . Set it on top of my dvd player and my seeds pop every time.

ive seen both methods done and work but i myself use method #1.

#1 put the seed inbetween wet soaking wet papertowel or toilet paper on a plate then put it in a dark room till it sprouts.
#2 i dunno wut my friend was doin but this is wut he did, he took a 2litre pop bottle cut off the top put a piece of plastic wrap over the top then put wet paper towel all over the top and the seeds wraped up inside. He then put the bottle under the grow light to germinate the seeds. it worked. hope this is helpful. A quick tip to a new grower (i myself am in the middle of my first grow) make sure you dont overwater your plants water them like once every 1-2 days and keep them under 24/7 lighting.

germinating seeds is easy... I always get mine to germ generally within 24 hours... key is to be moist, dark and warm...
here's what I do... take two papter towels and fold them up till you get the size of about a dollar bill... wet it really good and genly squeeze it as to not have it pouring out water... place your seeds in the middle and close it in half.. then take a baggie and slide the paper towel inside the baggie (do not seal the top) then take a bowl that will cover the baggie and papertowl place your baggie on a plate with the bowl overtop then a towel to cover your bowl (light tight) then place it somewhere (by a heater, hot water tank, somewhere that stays warm ....

Went good bud, got just under 2 oz from the christmas tree, and got 1 more to chop in the next week or so, ive got a purpose built 8x8 sealed room with a air cooled 600 watt hps hood, ak47x8 seeds poped of 10 so far! :bigjoint:

Success!!!!

10 out of 10 seeds poped!

Got them all planted and set up in my grow room, they are under a air cooled 600 watt hps bulb about 20 inch away, the temp in the room is a steady 72

Will they be ok if they pop up and the hps is on them strait away?

ya they should be as long as they arnt too close
u did the hand test right?
if so then ur fine but if u want to be safe use a couple cfl's for a week or less then jump back into the hps
and do the test with everything runing the fans and shit this way u know the enviorment it will be in when ur doing the test

Thanks, yes i did the hand test

Ive got two intake fans one with ducting to the bulb and a main extraction unit taking the heat away from the bulb, ive got all the fans on timers firing up half an hour before the hps comes on, because the 2 intake fans are drawing cold air from the outside, this is why i have the fans on timers as i dont want the room freezing when the bulbs out, thinking of getting a heater timed to come on when the bulb goes out

as long as it dont get too hot ur fine
somee people say in the 85's is a little hot but i seen this video about growing and they said anywhere from 75 to 85 is good
and thats what im going buy with lights off u should have um around 70 upper 60's 70's better.but if the think outside in nature at night time temps drop a few degrees so it would be good to let them drop but not too much u know what i mean
and u could get a heating pad for under the pot to keep roots and stuff warm too

Cool the heated pad sounds good, i think the lights off temps today were about 60 but the ventilation system was on, planning on buying one of those delongi oil heater to kick in 5 mins before ligts out

just keep the temps good and ur fine
hey if u dont have it all the time in the 60 degree weather ur ok
just try to get that up some closer to 70

Yea, well it would only be at 60 6 hours a day, but its a attic grow and its cold in the uk at moment, its only gonna get warmer from now so i reckon by the time of flowering the temps prob will in the mid 60's and prob arround 70 mid flowering

Just felt real cold when i went in today and the bulb was off and the ventilation on

Also it is cold enough to freeze my windscreen up on a morning & with the 2 fans pulling that cold air in from outside is prob why

ya then thats cold
have it so in the morning the fans aint blowing anything in
right now in my box i had for almost 3 days or so i didnt have my fan going at all just the exuast fan sucking things out
cusae over here is winter time and in my room the house heat dont work in my room so its cold in here and u could have a heating lamp heating the room some i have a 250w one and work but i dont use it now cuase i dont want my closset to get too hot
and in the box temps stay ok

My new room is right next to the house chimney which has been tapped into, i have broken through it and fitted a powerfull kitchen extractor fan, then arround the front of that fan i have built a sealed box made out of 50mil silver foam (kingspan)

this box is situated in the corner of my new room, all i had to do was cut a hole in this "master extraction box" with a kitchen knife and fit ducting then channel it to one side of the bulb

Then in the opposite corner of the room lower down i have 1 standard kitchen extractor fan pulling the outside air then above that another one pulling air in through ducting to the other side of the bulb

The room can not let any heat source out at all due to duct tape and the boards are norm used for insulating houses, so the only heat is coming out of the house chimmney :weed:

I can't wait to get some batterys n get some pics

ya i would like some pics
u could get some table top heaters too
to keep room warm and get a thermometer to know where ur atin there.
and what u have sounds nice
prolly works great and having it so it vent out the cheminy thats even better cuase the smell u wont have to mask it going out that way :0)
