Would you consider buying a VERO after reading through some of the posts?

Which numbers are you going by? The 5000K Vero 2.0 did not receive a significant output upgrade unfortunately. Based on typical figures for Vero 18 V2.0, Tj 50C, 5000K, 160lm/W @ 350mA (9.5W)

You seems right, is an error, I later figure this... I was looking at Tj 25, and at this temp it should be 175 lumens per watt or similar,,,my bad sorry:(...anyway great performnce..
thank you SupraSPL for correct that

You betcha'! ;)

I have a small ~180 watt panel (4 Vero18, 1 Vero29) that needs to be consolidated down to one driver. The older versions of the chips, I think I have seen them called "1.2".

Soon to be added 2 'wings' of sorts that will hopefully add about ~280 watts using 4 Vero29 '2.0' :hump:

The build isn't quite show room quality yet but I have 6 plants, in a 3x3, that are a little over 3 weeks into flower under the 180 watt panel that are looking very nice :weed: My goal there is to get at least 4 ounces.

I think I will end up with 50 watts/sqf which will probably be over-kill with these COB's, but I want to utilize the tent as best I can, especially with the relatively small amount of heat these panels create.

Looking forward to having a successful grow to share with everyone!
Depending on your growing skills, the 180W over x6 plants should totally bring you around four ounces, if not more! If you get the "wings" assembled and placed before the end of week five, you should end up with closer to a pound (my inexperienced guess).

I look forward to reading more about how the grow turns out in the coming weeks; keep us posted!

Hello, it's been 40+ since I last grew, and was interested in a DYI light with
Viro 29's. I was wondering if anybody had ordered 29's from the 40 thieves
site, KingBrite, they have 29 V2 for $27, I don't know if this is a rip or not, they
are the only ones I have found that had them listed. The add says sold in lots
of 10, but, they will sell singles. It's a pain in the butt to get get stuff shipped
from the states and get zapped with high import taxes, not so with CP or HK
Post.
Here's the feedback that I got back from them so far, they didn't give any
answers as to which model's I asked about.
Is it live, or is it Memorex I would like to know?

Thanks for your enquiry!

I am Jerry from KingBrite, nice to support you.

We are glad to support you for samples testing.

Unit price is $27.5usd for Vero29 V2, shipping cost is about $10usd by China post, and $45usd by DHL.

Pls advise!

Best regards
Jerry

That price range does not seem horrible... Digikey is suppose to have the Vero 29s on may 2nd for $28.21, when I checked a few weeks ago.

I would personally just wait the 4 days for Digikey to get them in stock and order them from there, shipping is super cheep and fast inside the US and you are sure to get what you are looking for.

Whelp digikey finally got vero 29 stock. Someone bought all 50 of the 5000k emitters they got and it looks like 4000k is going to be a non-stock item.... The sadness :(

However digikey currently has 50, 2700k, 43 3000k, and 50 3500k, emitters in stock. All 80 CRI.

Thanks guys for the help, I do have a Dgi account and the will send by USPS here, I'm only 5 hours
from HK, I'm not out of the West Coast anymore. You really get forked with taxes and duty when you
use FedX and the like for shipping.
Back to reshurching DYI nutes in the mean time, the only ready made here is for toms and lettuce,
there is NO hydro supply store, but have been weighing and mixing my own for 10 years now, just
need a good recipe.

I would be psyched if I could pull a pound out of my 3x3. This is what I would call my first legitimate grow. Have had several before with little knowledge, and inadequate lighting. But we all have to start somewhere!

Very excited. Should be harvesting around mid June

I just cut 2 SLH, 1 SSH and 2 Sourd in a 40x46 inch area with 9 vero 29's. Looks to be around 10 zips dry. No leaf etc. weighed. I toss the leaf. First cob grow.

Thanks as always supra.... But if the vero29 runs at 36.8V, and the drivers have a max of 36...wouldent thay cause a problem.
Very good question. The data sheet says up to 36V in the constant current region but when you go above that it switches to constant voltage and can go up to 40V. So I tested an HLN-80H-36A and it puts out 2.55A with Vero29 and some CXA3070s. I have a particularly high Vf CXA3070 and the driver puts out 2.15A.
