Would you consider buying a VERO after reading through some of the posts?

Kinda a dumb question but what size of screws and tap are you guys using to mount vero 18s and what thermal paste?
Data sheet calls for 2.5 mm screws but you can use ASE 4-40 screws and tap. They are pretty much the same size and easier to find here in the states. I use PK3 for thermal compound Artic silver 5 is also a good one. PK3 is the better of the two though.

The datasheet says to use M2.5 screws, but I've been using M3 0.5 pitch for all mounting purposes including for vero 18.

You could also use 4-40 i think.

Try to get socket head screws rather than phillips if you can. It's so much nicer.

I use 3mmx0.5 pitch as well, but I use socket caps. They 'feel' more secure :P. I use these on vero 10's and vero 18's.

did you break the tap because you didn't use oil too? Or did you just hit the bottom of the hole?
I used oil. Drilled thru so wasn't a blind hole. Should have gotten shorter screws.. I got ancy and tried to do one without backing it out and cleaning tap and snapped it when i went to back it out. Obv peice of aluminum caught thread. My fault. Was just taking too long as had 30 holes to tap. Self tappers were so much faster. I even used drill with screwdriver bit. Went in a bit then back out just like tapping. Then cleaned holes and used new screws.

I also want to say again that I wish I had stuck with using thermal adhesive and will be using that from now on. It works and it is easy. Putting PK-3 on thick and pressing to spread did not work. It gave me air gaps and thin idk how well it worked cause these surfaces are not flat. I only got the vacuum feeling when it was thick and found that there were air gaps when I removed one.
So do as u want as these are just my experiences.

The beer in your avatar is delicious. Have you ever had anything else with galaxy? There are a bunch of breweries around here who use it but i have yet to encounter it for sale to the homebrewer.
Yeah I've had only one other but i saw more at this liquor store I usually do t go too I'm gonna pick up some ones I've tried yet and see how they are. That one in my avatar is my favorite beer right now, you live in Ak?

I broke my tap so went with the self tappers. just be sure to oil as I forgot to on one and snapped screw. My build was so full of fail it took way longer than planned. Room almost done finally but now have plants that are too tall cause light took so long to finish. Need to bend down before switch to flower.
Damn but they look really good dude the plants, and your light is sweet, I'm gonna pick up so, CXBs soon and make a flower panel. The verso will be for vegging, I'm curious about the new veros coming out soon.

Ya, the cobs clearly work. The plants are big. Too big.

It works im sure, read all the reviews for computers. Im sure it will be fine. I just dont like it for cobs but most people do. I found it too thick to work with so removed most and left a thin layer...good enough. For me the adhesive worked better and no need to drill and tap holes so a huge time saver. As far as thermal properties I have no idea if one is better than the other but again feel the adhesive is good enough. Would have taken 10-20 minutes to install with adhesive vs hours I spent sanding heatsink, drilling, tapping, screwing, applying PK3, then I didnt like how it went on so redid it all...just was a PITA.

There is possibly a 100w generic or an inventronics that
plays nice with that string but dont know one off the top of my head.

What would be the best dimmable source to drive 5 Vero 18s between 0.35 and 0.7 mA?
