soil is more forgiving than hydro... if you have everything dialed in, yes, hydro can grow plants faster than in soil.

taste?...not really a huge difference either way.
i totally disagree lime. i know taste is all a preference thing , but water growing can not compete with soil when it comes to taste.
a lot of folks have grown up on water an so they think that "earthy" taste is kinda dirty or just different. but most older folks like myself grew up on outdoor buds an can never get the taste there lookin for in hydro.

So it is all a preference thing but there is a BIG difference in taste from dirt to water. (even with um both bein dialed in)

i also believe in cases where the grower is more advanced that water is more forgiving then soil. (because you just change the rez and everything is fixed) but that only counts if you only slightly fucked things up , if you fuck up bigtime then the soil will help you more.

just trying to dial it in ...on time it's not enough.... next time too much! haha
that plant is fuckin beautiful lime , do not "cut back" on anything! the bigger , the greener , the more foliage , the more quality pot an better yield. PERIOD.

your lime colored pot looks great too , but you could have got a lil more out of it by it being green until the end. all this shit about draining the N towards the end is a dumb old "taste myth". a myth with only opinions , no science behind it at all.

my guess is back in the day when "the best growers" had probs keeping up on N they needed a good excuse to leave it that way.

nice...well if a hydro pump goes down you will only have but a few hrs to fix or plants will start to wilt ,and fast if not fixed. where soil is more forgiving in that regard.

you can tell what is grown hydro vs soil?

i agree with you lime. there is a lot to maintenance in hydro , so your pretty much right on the forgiving part. the only time i think water is more forgiving is if your with your babies all the time.

if the pot is really good then yes i can always tell what it was grown in. if the pot is just decent then sometimes it suprizes me.

its interesting how day by day, you can't notice much change in budding. but... if you take a picture every 3 days or so you can really notice the effects.

or I could just ask it here too. I aim for a pH of 5.8 for my watering every 3 days. Today I think my pH was 5.5-5.6 (I had just woken up and only added 1 ml pH up /gallon instead of 2). This isn't a big deal... right?

ah... you linked it before I asked it. Thanks lime. Well there you go... two ways to see my question.

Hey lime, I have a question for you. If you don't mind. I only thought of this because I am sitting here and the light is shining through my window pretty bright and feels a bit warm. Do you think putting my plant in the light coming through the window for say an hour or two, maybe even three would have an effect on the plant? It's just a thought, and I am rather curious.
