Aerogarden, Round 2

I don't have a Fox dealer near me. Can you buy their products from anyone on the net? I went to their website but it was no help for mail order. Would Miracle Grow be an acceptable substitute?

I'm trying AK47 Canadian in the AG.

Sprouts after four days.

I want to start some more seeds in the "spacer holes". Did you order more seed pods from aero garden? In what medium did you place the seeds? Which plant did you set the machine to grow? I'm using the herb setting now. Any advice much appreciated. I'm thinking of using natural sponge in the extra holes (the ones used for the spacers). When to you suggest going 12-12.

Thanks, Mike

Thanks Pat.

I appreciate your taking the trouble to send me that site.

I'm thinking of using a combo of Big Grow & Big Bloom--I guess 50/50. That, I THINK, is what Tek is usung in his aeroGarden & he seems to do really well.

I've been stalling a bit on placing my order as I'm still not sure what to use & can't seem to get a definitive answer forom anyone.

Still searching the threads. for nute info.

Thanks again,

Well my friend I can assure that those 2 works fantastic. I am a Senior student of Microbiology and I think I know wome things about chemistry,,, Cannabis plants needs three essential things Nitrogen (N), Phosphate (P2O5) and Soluble Potash (K2O), and several other Trace elements as, Magnesium (Mg), Boron (B), Copper (Cu) , Iron (Fe), Manganese (Mn), Molybdenum (Mo) and Zinc (Zn)...

For the Sprouting period, when the plants are seeds until they got 2 - 4 Real leaves (Not the cotiledon, that is the first round leaves) they need this chemicals in half of the common proportions, (Usually 2 TBLSpoon) so u use like 1 and a little less its better....18/6 light period

For the Vegetative Period, 18/6 best recommended, u use 2 Tblspoon of this nute in order to have a good growth, after 2 weeks under the 18/6 light period you must change to the Flowering stage, so you keep the plant short and light efficient

For the Flowering period you should defenitely use big bloom, because this is the only stage they dont need any abundance of Nitrogen, instead they need a greater amount of Potash and phosphate so they can flower those precious buds.... and that should take until u see the white hairs turn amber.

When u see this color change, cut off the nutes, by disposing the water and putting just pure water, notthing else.. this is going to be essential to have a pure Cannabis smoke... if you dont do this you will be smoking this chemicals and your throat will hurt...

I really recomend this fertilizer, it is like they made it for weed ! lolll

and usually its like 18 + shipping the 1 liter bottle, but it is like $13 in that page...

Hope that helps,

Pat,

Thanks for thaking the time to give that great explanation. I have my AG set on the Herb setting. ( I have not found any definitive info on the site as to which setting seems to be the best). I used the two starter nutes that came with the AG. Strain is AK47 from Joey weed. The seeds were started 040107. (Next time I will germinate first). They sprouted in about four days using 18/6. I have read some negative comments in this site about the AG nutes. I havent noticed any problems yet but the plants are only about 2 inches tall. When the machine tells me to add nutes I plan to just add water & stall until my fox farm nutes arrive. You said to use "this" nute during the vegative stage. I'm guessing by that you meant the "big grow" nute. Do you think I can get by with plain water until my FF nites arrive?
All I want is some decent bud for personal use and an OZ would last me a long time. I again really thank you for taking the time to post this information. I owe you, MIke

Mike,

The problem with AG nutes is that they dont have the concentration a cannabis plant need, and if you just dropped the tablets into the reservoir they wont dilute 100% making the pump work bad because of the sediments, you are not going to see any deficiency in the plants until the second pair of real leaves are shown... so my advise my friend, is try to get asap FF nutes, meanwhile when the nutes light goes on, pick one, only one tablet of AG nute, and smash it, make it a powder... then dilute it in water, that should hold your plants until your FF set arrives.

Dont never leave you plants with plain water, remember plants needs nutrients to grow, and plain water doesnt have them....

Now, when u get you FF set, you must change the water, just open the tray and wash the reservoir with hot water and try to clean as much sediment as you can, there is a way to open the water pump, if you can clean it to... the pump is not sealed, with a sharp knife dismantle the front part, and then the "fan" cover, its easy, but you have to be carefull... then put plain cold water, and put 1 tablespoon of FF big grow... then after two weeks, if you see some yelloish, pour 1,5 - 2 tablespoons of big grow....

that should do it

Hope it helps!

Pat,

Again, thanks for your tie & expertise. I got the "add nutrients & water" lights for the first time today. I only added one tablet. I just did that a few minutes ago. I'll go out to my shop & retrieve the tablet & crush it before putting it back in the reservoir.
I ordered the FF a xcouple of days ago. Hopefully they will get there this week. I'll follow your recommendations.

Thanks again, Mike

Pat,

I thought I'd give you an idea where I was so far. These are pics of the plants at 8 & fourteen days. I took them with my cell so forgive the quality. I'll use a digital camera on my follow up.

Peace, Mike
Mike,

They are looking great in my opinion, do you see the bright green in the new pair of leaves ? if thay keep getting brighter if because of the lack of nitrogen and/or nutes. The delivery took for me 5 days... but thats because im in Pocatello Idaho right now... for you it should be the same, UPS takes 3 /5 days......

remember to change the water and clean the container before you put FF...

Way to go bro !
keep me informed... I would love to show you my plants, but aint got a digital cam..... yet....

now mike, why did you put the sponge in that position ? I just putted them in the bottom of the plastic "holder"... and poked them in the bottom...

Pat,

I used some natural sponge from Trader Joe's to get some secondary seeds started. I only had the three seed holders that originally came with the AG unit. I figured a larger piece of sponge would work better than the small diameter tubes that stick out of the spacer plugs and I could get some additional plants going. I'm using the AK47 in the primary (3) pods. The other stuff is God knows what. I'll transplant them into soil pots when they start to sprout. Haven't figured out exactly what I'm going to do with them yet.

I need to order som more seed pods from AG.

Its a small world. I'm about 50 miles from you but in such a small town I won't even mention it.

Peace, Mike

I just went & checked on my unit. The machine had turned off lights and timer for its 8 hours of darkness. I had it set to tomatoes and the pump was not operating. I switches it to lettuce & the pump began operating. I noted the pump would also start with the unit set to strawberries. The pump remained off on all other settings. I guess I will leave it on the lettuce setting.

Well ppl finally I can take pictures of my babies....

They look yellowish, but thats my camera's fault, because they aren't.

I have prone some leaves as you can see, because they were really yellow because I used AG nutes in the beginning as you can remember Tek, the good thing they look healthy now, and they are females!!!

I would really much appreciate your comments!!

Pat,

Wow females for sure--you lucky dog. That is the best picture I have seen yet of those "little white hairs" that everyone prays for. How long have you been flowering?
I'll also be curious to see what Tek has to say.
I'll post some pics later today.
Females!! praise God.

Thirty five days now. What do you think
I seem to be adding quite a bit of mixed liquid to the AG, perhaps as much as two cups a day. Anyone else adding this much? Temp in the grow room averaging about 70 degrees.

Thanks, Mike (o2)

Pat and Tango, very very nice looking plants...

Tango, I'm afraid to tell you that your going to experience some massive crowding with 3 in there....Don't let it discourage you though, just let nature take its course...What I mean is the bottoms of a plant don't typicaly get any light even when outside...So the top of the plants is where your biggest yield is going to come from, just keep the top canopy with light...just let the bottom leaves die on their own, don't cut too much...

Glad to have you aboard Percussive, looking forward to your results...

Peace,
-Tek

Hey what's up. I got a k2 plant in mine that just spouted. It's about a inch to a inch and a half. My problem is i don't have any growing experience at all. I'm using the ag nutrients. i want to know what nutrients i really need and how much it will run me. Also can someone tell me what ph means cause i know i should be checking it, but don't know what the hell it is. I have 9 other k2 seeds, and i'm not expecting much of a yield at all since this is my first time. Please wisen me up.:joint:
