...I was guilty so I just thought I'll plead guilty. My Mum found out because it was in the local newspaper. Christ, kids do stupid ass stuff. Speak to a lawyer ASAP. When I got busted with a grow I was on a lawyer straight away. Guy got me off all charges except possession and that was only down to my previous charge. A lawyer will give you more piece of mind than any of us here will. Good luck.

Therapy is ongoing, but he has the f-it's. His mom died, and his dad was none existent, so he was on his own for a bit (emotionally). Then it took longer for him to believe I was there for him. He now believes that, if something good came of the cops being there interviewing him - it's that he hasn't seen me being anything other than polite before, and I wasn't with the police, as they were not either.

I was told that I could be charged with obstruction. Every question that was asked, I told him not to answer. Cop got angry and told me that I might want to know how often he smokes, I was polite, but not especially nice. First time kiddo has seen me like that. Especially when I asked to be arrested for obstruction, and it would throw the whole case out.

So something positive came from it, as kid saw that I am totally there for him.

In the UK you are an adult when 16. In Scotland it's even worse. If convicted of something like murder when under age, you are inside until you are 16 then you serve a full adult sentence. Under 16 no names are allowed to be mentioned. We can get marred and have kids at 16 as well....just can't have a drink at the wedding lol.

I'll try to keep this brief, as I can. My son and friends went to an after school activity, and when they walked in, weed was smelled on them by staff. They were all pulled out and then lied to, and told there would be no police involvement if they owned up. My son owned up, went to the car (not his car, but it was parked on school property) and handed over a bag with about an ounce in it. The school then told him to write a written statement which he did.
This is all without my presence, or knowledge.

Then the school calls the cops. One kid panicked and said it was all my son, to which the other kids reacted and said it was all of them.

I was then called to the school, so he could be interviewed by the police. Other than confirming his identity, I didn't allow him to speak. I signed a form stating that we were refusing to give a statement to the police, and I put a line through the space for a statement, after writing in, 'no statement being provided' and signing next to that.

Another concern is that I didn't get anything from the police officer at all about the amount that it was - nor did I see that written anywhere. My mind was going in 10,000 directions and I did think about it, but then forgot with all that was happening. I regret that. I'm not saying that the police will add to it, but I'd just be more comfortable if I had something stating the amount. Or if I'd taken a photo or something.

This was 3 weeks ago now, and we still don't have any charges from the police. There's nothing to investigate, as they have the written note that he did for the school - but I'd have to think that's inadmissible, as I was not present.
I don't understand the reason for the delay, and I am nervous that they are waiting for him to turn 18 before pressing charges.

It would be a real hardship to get a lawyer over a public defender. And for such a small amount of weed, I don't think I need to be looking to sell my car to make that happen. I can and will, if I have to.

Any advise you have to offer, would be very much appreciated.I'm in PA.
