Advanced Platinum LED?

I was considering the purchase of an LED and wanted to know if anyone uses the Advanced Platinum LEDS? This is the one I was considering, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NTBZKDE?psc=1
Advanced Platinum Series P450 450w 12-band LED Grow Light - DUAL VEG/FLOWER FULL SPECTRUM
Are they any good? I have a new 4x4 tent for flowering and will only have 3 plants at a time in there usually. 4 plants if the urge hits me, but doubtful. I usually stick to 3 at a time as they generally make enough to carry me until the next harvest. So, with the new tent I am torn where or not to use LED or just stick to the 600w HPS... I would like things to run cooler but prefer not to sacrifice quality, thoughts?

run............those aren't even the real Advanced LED

and both them and advanced are afraid of green light for some reason.....:???: obviously they didn't read thru SDS post's!

It's advertised as a 450 Watt LED, but the specifications say max draw at 255 Watts. It also uses 3 Watt Leds. I would not even consider that as a replacement for your existing setup. I also made a similar mistake and am so happy I didn't. Spend some time in the DIY area. You can build a far better light!

Thanks to Abiqua and Maine_Coast!! Will look into the DIY and read more through the threads here and look into some of the sponsors. This time around I might just add the 600w hps to the new tent... got the tent because I have 3 plants that need to be moved into flower and my other is already full and dont want to overcrowd. Just hadnt added the light yet since I was toying with the LED idea but I see it may take more than a few days to figure all of this one out.

Stop being haters and giving people bad info .

This is my platinum Led lamp HID 600W on a 4x4 tent , I grow 5 plants at a time and the yield is off the charts , this is my 3rd grow .

It's cheaper on the light bill and Waaay more effective, and there is green spectrum. The brightest light ? If you saw it in person you would see it is green spectrum.

Not to mention the fact that in this particular lamp you get a 3rd option were you can boost up the wattage a bit so a win win.

What is off the charts according to you?

How much gram, how much watt?
I see that panel does have some Cree chips in it.

Bit overpriced though.

You must be stoned , clearly yo didn't read wen I said the YIELD.

Lol jk

The price is a bit high about 500 for the one I got free shipping and a 5 year no questions asked warranty, you can make up the money on the light bill .

As far as grams ? I am a beginner so with that in mind I probably got about 50 grams per plant maybe .

buy a good led/cob setup [not that one] or stay with hps

Productivity is literally a definition of yield. (to be fruitful or productive)

So yes, gram per watt is a valid question.

My bad bro using my phone so I didn't get to see the entire question before I answerd but I did edited my response to a dress your question

Any light will grow.

Your light is over priced and sold by a company ripping off another companies name.

It is old tech and cheap parts. A diy cob light will be just as cheap and far superior.

I never said stole. They are ripping off the advance name. Why not just call the light platinum? That's right, to confuse people.

Go ahead and call names. It shows your lack of actual intelligence.

You are using old tech.

For the money you spent I could have more actual watts of more efficient cob led.

Who is retarded? Some will never learn. You got ripped off.

I can get more yield out of a t5 than that shitty light.

For just a little bit more, you can get this piece from Timber Grow Lights:

http://timbergrowlights.com/250-watt-cree-cxb3590-square-framework/

That runs FAR more efficient than ANYTHING Platinum LED sells. I have owned a P450 and now run COB lighting (DIY). There is no comparison. My SE HPS produced the same as a PlatinumLED light did. DE HPS is more efficient than PLED.

Do not buy any of these multi-colored LED lamps as they are garbage and a scam. Everyone talks about using less electricity but just because its LED does not mean its anymore efficient. You can run LED that are less efficient than HPS and that is what you are getting with PLED. Ever notice why these companies make no claims as to PPF or PAR wattage? Ever notice they do not release any details about their drivers or actual chips used? Its because they are cheap garbage that is overpriced.

Will PLED grow good quality stuff? Hell yes, but you are overpaying for the light and getting something not nearly as good as the next. For the cost of a P450, you can get a Gavita 600w DE and save $140 while yielding so much more and being more efficient (yes, you are over doubling your wattage but you wont be wasting as much energy and yields will sky rocket). Just so you know, 600w of efficient LED is needed for a 4x4 to produce 1000w HPS results. That P450 runs at 250w @ maybe 30-35% efficiency (if you are LUCKY!) which means you will likely need 1000w to equal a 1000w HPS.

If you go with that light above that I linked, get 2 of those in a 4x4 and you will see VERY good results that will damn near equal a 1000w HPS. If you are strictly growing for yourself, go with that 250w and keep a cycle. Not sure how much you smoke, but with that light and just an average yielding strain, you can produce 8-10 ounces without an issue. Get a higher yielding strain and even more. Some people are pulling 1.5g/w (I know, shitty unit of measure) but it gives you an idea at least.

Your light is using a 6 inch distance to measure par. I guarantee you are not growing at 6 inches from the canopy. Its all bullshit and marketing hype.

they may have removed advance from the names on the panel but it doesn't change the fact they used it to get where they are.
Capture.PNG
Measure at 6 inches all you want but you cant grow at that distance.

Continue with the name calling. I never called you anything and have always supported people growing with what they want. If you are happy with what you got then fine but don't sit here and act like its the best light out there. Its not.
