You can do some amazing stuff w hempy buckets.........just don't plan on leaving them too long/ are you running a drip???
i second the watching them carefully. even with vermiculite mixed in, my hempy went from once every 2 days to now wanting water twice a day.

Mid week 9 update with some dry nuggs. I'm a little embarrassed about how the Sour Diesels are looking. Pretty sure I hit them too hard with the moab for their sizes. oh well, just going to ride it out now, they will still produce nicely just probably held them back some. Hopefully not too much longer on these girls, 2 weeks max I hope. 11 weeks is a long strain for me.

I've only sampled the Ken's Kush dry with zero cure time and it knocked my socks off right off my feet. The taste was very bold and consistent with the kush aroma. I am very tempted to get more of this strain for hoarding purposes. The Strawberry Cough has the sweetest aroma that I can't describe, I have a feeling it will be a dream to smoke that will take me away on fluffy clouds. I can't pinpoint the Northern Lights yet, it's smelly but not reeky like the kush or super sweet like the cough, it definitely smells good though, just not sure what's fitting. I'll check back in on that one after the smoke reports.

It sounds like Agent Orange is a forerunner, I was kind of leaning that way too. That and Afghani Woosh definitely sounds interesting...can't find any info online about it so I'll have to ask some questions when I get there. I am kind of feeling like doing a purple strain, it's been years and I haven't done one under leds yet. I might delay my trip for new clones another week, we'll see how my day plays out.

I guess I should get some strawberry cough in my mix,... I love tasty/smelly strains. I prefer the top notch high but my first joint in the morning better be tasty after the coffee.

Thanks for the comments guys. I really appreciate each and every one.

@Amaximus: I used about 1/3 tsp of moab and cut down the base nutes and supps by half. Same as I treated the other strains, sour d is just a bit more sensitive I suppose.

@psuagro: new journal should be up either this weekend or next. Putting in my order for a new tent. Bye bye little closet!

@endur0: definitely give the strawberry cough a whirl. The taste is so sweet and the high is a knockout, absolutely top notch. I remember reading a while back that the breeder who first came out with strawberry cough is also responsible for agent orange, not sure how accurate that is though.

Weigh in of dry kush, cough, and northern lights coming soon!

I missed the start of week 10 update. Sour d is still not done...hopefully they will be ready by end of next week...picking up either a 3x3 or 2x4 tent on saturday. Still haven't weighed anything. I have been super busy with work and family life the last couple weeks and have been neglecting my hobbies. And now football season has started, I'm going to have to take a close look at my priorities!

Hi! So all in all, after seeing you do so many great grows and post from you (which I tremendously enjoy and appreciate learning from by the way) and seeing that you have been trying all different LEDs......can you say you have a or a few personal favorites that would at least make me feel like I won't throw my money away on a bad choice? :)
So many choices and so many gimmick ads out there for a complete nube!!
Moving into a 2x2 and 4x4 tents set for rotation
Thanks!!!

Hey keepitquiet, thanks for the kind words and for checking out my grows! Glad you enjoyed them. So yeah, I do have some favorite lights at the moment based on the ones I've used. I'm really happy with the apache tech but I definitely had to pay a lot to get it. The xml from advanced is also a really great light and much more affordable than the apache. I also have a diamond series from advanced, but I think if I were to go with another panel from them it would be another xml, i just like the spectrum control knobs it has. I had a kessil h350 that was a great light too and uses very little wattage, only thing is that it won't be the right solution if you are looking to cover many plants. There's also a short list of other lights I'm very interested in trying out: lumigrow, california lightworks, illumitex, and area51 on the led side and then indagro induction lights are also piquing my interest. I think all of the lights and companies I just mentioned would treat you right. Hope that helps some, let me know if you have any more questions or needs some additional guidance about light specs.

Yeah the apache and xml are square designs, but my 200w diamond series is still rectangular. If I get the 3x3 I will be very tempted to put all three lights in there and see what happens...what size tent I end up going with ultimately depends on how much space I can clear out. I agree, Cowboys kind of got lucky..neither team was playing very well and really, Ogletree with 2 TDs?? Come on now!

Weigh in results, sorry for the late report.

Ken's Kush x3 came in about 60g, so roughly 20g per plant.
Strawberry Cough x2 came in about 45g, so just over 20g per plant.
Atomic Northern Lights x1 came in at 25g so just shy of an ounce.

That's about 130g (almost 5 ounces) from 5 plants in 2g pots ranging in height from 20-30"

I still have the two sour d's left in 1g jugs and the party cup. I'm expecting 1-1.5 ounces from those. Should be right around 6oz total for this round. Not bad for the wattage used, small closet, and no environmental control.

Weigh in pics, updated smoke report, and start of week 11 update coming next!

Here's a couple pics I snapped the other day of a few of the larger nugs.

2012-09-07_17-24-47_114.jpg2012-09-07_17-16-44_691.jpg2012-09-07_17-17-15_509.jpg

Updated Post Harvest Report:

Ken's Kush might be favorite. The aroma and taste have a very strong kush-like semi-dieselish thing going on and I am loving it. Opening the jar just sends a giant whiff of it through out the room. The smoke is smooth but will catch you by the booboo if hit too hard and not prepared for it. The effects are long lasting and felt in all aspects. This is an instant classic for me and I'm super tempted to grow more right away.

But I really like the Strawberry Cough. It has a much sweeter smell than the kush: it smells fruitier and more floral than the kush. It's equally as potent all around. The sweet smell is actually intimidating. I feel like it's delightfully scented to the point smelling it too much would make me sick to my stomach, belly ache written all over it. Just kind of makes my glands water and stomach quease up a bit, but it still smells like perfume and you can't help but want it.

And then there's the Atomic Northern Lights. There's just something about the way this one smells that makes me think of Christmas. There's something there, maybe a little spice flavor to it or something but it also has a hint of sweet similar to the strawberry coughs. Not quite as noticeable as the other two aromas or taste, but the subtleness of it is very appealing. Then there's the knockout effects of it. I know I've gone straight to sleep after all of them, but I noticed this one has worked itself into my night time medications more so than the others.

So with that little summary there, I still don't have a favorite. They all came out as dank as I hoped for and they each have their own unique qualities to them. If you're a kush lover, the it's a must that you try ken's. If you like sweet fruity stuff, strawberry cough all the way. If you either don't care one way or the other or just want some guaranteed fire, northern lights. Nothing like having a variety though.

Week 11 for Sour Diesel update coming next.
