A Glenn Beck Thread

If you truly want to know what is REALLY happening, then read the financial papers. Of course you must first be able to understand economics.....but once you do, numbers will always tell you the action and let you disregard the words, on both sides.

The problem with the "news" is some people still consider it actual news. Bias is rampant on both sides. People get attached to their favorite station, news person or political party and because they sometimes identify the ideological problems with the other side whom they hate, they assume the one they like must be correct on all points. This type of self reinforcing back and forth works for who? Not us. It perpetuates the myth of their being only two points of view...right or left. It perpetuates the system. FOX or MSNBC what does it matter? Media blatantly cheerleads political points of view and people get caught up in it like their cheering for a fucking sports event. Why bother forming opinions when your favorite news station can do it for you?

Anyone that is a diehard Democrat or Republican, I say you play right into the hands of the system and don't even realize it. Let's face it both parties and their media sychophants (is that even a word?) believe they can run your life better than you can. Both are wrong. The argument shouldn't be right vs left. The argument should be truth and freedom vs lies and tyranny. The solutions the powers that be offer is always more government or if only "their" candidate were in power things would be better. The reality is until government shrinks in size exponentially it won't matter whether the red team or the blue team is in power...more and more evidence is presented every day, but many of you will continue to ignore this.

<puts on his tinfoil hat > "We now return you to our regularly scheduled broadcast where people argue the false merits of their favorite political party (enslavers). "

Glen Beck says some things that make sense, for instance throwing money away on stimulus is stupid, he gets it there.
His head is up his ass on the war and he cheerleads our being the world police, reasons enough for me to dislike him. To not question the 9/11 report and call truthers terrorists is another blind spot he has. People get an idea in their mind and do not accept any evidence that contradicts that belief. I am not saying I believe the United States government blew up the trade towers, but there is sufficient evidence to believe somebody did and it wasn't a fire caused by a plane. Why was building 7 not mentioned in the Official 9/11 commission report...anyone?

Just another media douche that makes money by creating division in America. Citing true American values to back up his rhetorical bull shit, he does nothing more than make a mockery of them.Do yourself a favor don't listen to the brainwashing. The same with that other station. I swear they're owned by the same company. Murdoch and GE are simply fronts. Fuck commentary. Read the print and try thinking for yourself.
I couldnt agree with you more. It is sad how our nation thinks that they can believe everything they hear because its on the news. All it really is is censorship at its best.

I don't know if it's the tits on your avatar that is brainwashing me into reading your posts, but you bring up an excellent point about reading the financial papers.

CNN is hardly centered....lawdy

Watch CNN, then switch to MSNBC and tell me you don't notice a liberal difference. Then compare with Fox. They all have their moments to make you cry out bias. But overall I still think CNN is the most centered.

But is there any such thing as centered in media? As soon as any media outlet reports a story where one ideology appears to be portrayed over another. Even if it is unintentional. The easiest thing to do is claim a bias so then any further reporting by said outlet can simply be dismissed and ignored. Unless of course they report a story that does favor your ideology. Then they were fair that one time.

I do agree with your point about many of the financial papers. You can learn a lot about what is happening in this country by what the money is doing.

I don't watch either frankly. What I do know from CNN is in print. It's the slant i can't stand. Any news outlet are word meisters. It's all in the way they print or speak it. The facial shots, expressions....a lot of the bias either way is subliminal. Fox is pretty OUT there with it...no sublimity there....one of the reasons for the vitriolic responses to them. They are in your face with it.
CNN and the others take a different tack......they slip it to you in small slices....seemingly objective, but really absolutely not.

I think I can see your point there. Bias in the media doesn't really bother me. I have to admit it's why I find it entertaining. I like to think I'm smart enough to read between the lines and learn the facts of a story I'm interested in. Never to assume Bill O'Reilly or Keith Olberman are going to give me the full story. I myself don't mind Fox being right wing bias. I only complain about them because they spend so much time trying to convince the viewer they aren't. I will never argue about MSNBC's liberal bias. But they don't spend half their time arguing that fact either.

I do have a problem with FOX turning the news into entertainment however. They are not the only ones and ABC got a huge head start in that regard, but FOX has taken it to a whole new level.

Quite frankly, I don't care what the "journalists" opinion is...just give me some FACTS, backed up by objective investigating, and I'll form my own opinion. That's not the way the news is anymore however.....and that is a disservice to the country.

you know I like glenn beck but I also know that glenn is a worst case scenario type guy. I think that we will restore balance in 2010 and the scare that we will be government dependent pinko's will pass. listening to glenn's show certainly opened my mind to the possibility that america is on the march to socialism, but I think that is a ways away. he does make some good points when it comes to our career politician's I am in agreement that those positions should have term limits and we really need to change them out a bit. but I don't see the complete destruction of our monetary system to the point that we trade on gold schillings

Anyone who attacks the FED is OK in my book.
As long as he does it for the right reasons.
Attacking the Federal Reserve so we can replace it with the IMF/World bank.
That would be a profoundly bad idea.

I think Glenn would be very happy with your post, Heneley ... because he's gotten you to think. Now all we need is for another 50,000,000 Americans to do the same. :)
