A Fool and a Hermie Seed

9 weeks, it's gotten a little more complicated
got around to doing a close check, and i see a few roosters have come to the party
that got me sweating, but it looks like a few solitary bananas at the tips of a few buds
and don't seem to have much life to them, no sign of damage
not like the hermies that produce bloom after bloom
with not much time left to flower, i'm still calling it hermie free, maybe

10 weeks of the flower, now i'm seeing some changes
leaves lost a ton of pigment over the week, side buds fattening up
and the roosters, that's a new kind of rooster for me
they appear singly at fringes of the buds, very weak hermie expression
and they seem to throw no pollen at all, they just kind of yellow and dry up
so is this a hermie? i'd say no, bud inspection will be the final judgement

a sudden jump in the trichomes, ambers started to appear
so the cut was made at 74 days, last picture out of chamber, and not a bad yielder
it continued to throw the single roosters, but if they had any effect i can't see it
looks completely seedless after the trimming, calling it a pure female
and seems to be the best tasting weed i've had yet, at least based on vaping sugar leaf

I like the title of the thread, I hold the Wonderjacks cutting, it's from hermitized stock also,... cool plant you have there ;)
thank you, it's the kind of thread you'll either like or hate
wonderjack, sounds like williams wonder in there? maybe blackjack too?
one thing i have picked up from watching the experienced, they often find some nice genetics but border on the stable/instable, and they keep them
and they must have kept them for a reason

time for a quick summary
yield - still drying so no weigh in yet
seeds - very few if any, not a hermie in the usual sense
effect - very sweet taste and effect - dreamy/stoney with some sativa
more sativa would have been better, but it can always be better

i will call my results so far as 3/5, 3 perfectly good females, the other 2 not so useful
but i've been holding out, had another in my small grow chamber, a LST setup
looks beautiful, but roosters have sprouted, the fertile kind, under control at the moment, this is 3 1/2 weeks of flower

i thought about ending this grow early, wasn't sure i wanted to do another round of rooster hunting
however, not seeing the heavy rooster production with this plant
interesting, the inter-sex trait is present, but seems to have been throttled down to 1/4 speed or so
it looks pretty good, for a micro grow that is

5 1/2 weeks flower
not as many male flowers, but they're sneaky, had a couple chuck pollen in the last few days
shit, thought i had it under control
still, if you count fertilized/unfertilized calyxes, the ratio has to be 100 to 1 for the good kind
which does make it worth it

7 1/2 weeks, not bad buds at all
had to watch it close, just enough roosters to keep it interesting
but definitely a lower rate of male blooms than the parent
a little wary of what the final result will be
the 1st 'hard' hermie S1 had a nasty smoke, but looked/smelled OK otherwise
hoping there's no family resemblence in the smoke

^^^ thank you sir, always appreciate visitors looking in
which brings me to week 8.5 of flower, i will say it's looking good picture wise
but the roosters have me by the balls
been popping out from deep in the bud, not a huge number of roosters
yanking them is a chore, and the worry about seed damage
mist as you yank, it helps kill the pollen, but nothing is ever easy

cut her down a week ago, 9 1/2 weeks of flower, time for a mini report
not many seeds, mostly seedless, but not a big yielder for the grow setup
less than 1 oz, more than 1/2, maybe 3/4 tops
looked indica(partly from the lst-ing), but had a sativa suprise inside
wouldn't confuse it for a landrace sativa effect wise, but closest so far

this may be the final chapter for me in this seed line
i got good stuff, but time to move forward, genetics more stoney than wanted
4 of the 6 plants grown were what i would call good, 3 of those straight females
the other 2 were a male and a hermie with a very bad effect
how does that compare with reg seeds from many breeders? i'd say not bad

a new grow of the dreaded hermie genetics, what could go wrong?
my excuse is the same, i need a femme bad, so there you go
a tardy update, veg is done, went 6 weeks, low grow chamber temps!
as luck would have it, a more sativa looking plant
higher temps in the chamber are a priority

been a nasty winter in the northeast this year, that's my excuse anyways the grow room just hasn't been getting anough heat, slow grow on the other hand, this is a sativa dominant which i've been waiting for but 7 weeks of flower and it's just getting started, that's a stiff price still, looking pretty good for a f'd up grow

Holy shit, you're still growing in that crazy white tube??? LOL You're the first person i'd spoken to before who is still around on this site. And I see you've been using the same thread for 3 years. Impressive.

No, exact same handle now as I had then. I just recently came back to the same account as i've found a renewed desire to grow. STILL having heat issues. Shit don't change, lol.
But really cool to see you're still growing, I think i'll read back a few pages and see what you've learned and how you've progressed. ;) :D Great to see you're still around.

the memory gets a litle balky, what can you do, great to hear from someone who was around when my growing bug started
this grow is kind of a killer, been wanting a sativa dominant, but this thing will probably go 20 weeks easy!

it does cross my mind from time to time, partly it's about NY, one small plant isn't too bad if the worst case should arise
so it's mostly about security
