Not real sure what im going to do yet. Just Rolling with it i guess. Im sure the Cfl's arent going to be able to handle these much longer and im also sure that the lighting is not going to be able to handle the food if i continue to let them eat the way they want to eat.
Ive got a 150 freed up and a 400 to flower with.
Ive also got a 150 MH i could hook up to finish veg with and i think they are going to need this soon if i decide to continue to veg.
Im thinking about a couple trees like GB has but on a much smaller scale.
I dont want to waste my time with the 150 in flower.
To many decissions.
Im all out of ideas.
So its open for discussion i guess.

Well onthedl, you convinced me. I am setting up a couple of 3 1/2 gal buckets for my 3x3x6' grow room. The only real question I have right now is, how do you know the water is just below the net pot? noob question, but with the cover on, I'm not sure how to get a "mark" on the water level. I don't want it to high. Nice thread, thanks for helping the noobs.

Next take ur lid with the pot in it place it on the bucket and continue to fill the bucket so the water level ends up at the bottom of the pot.
Put a little hydroton in the pot so it looks like this..



he fills the water up with a couple of the pots already in the lid and the lid sitting on top of the bucket. looking through the hole left in the bucket he can fill the water to where it needs to be. hope that helped.

these are 2 moms i decided to bend and widen and flower after i seen gypsy's attempt. just saying, it's easy.

those plants are looking good man. i have sooooo much extra shit laying around i could actually do this.i just might have to. i think you have inspired me......dammit

no offense taken. I have seen the pics when it was set up. I was wondering how you check it during the grow. Now that you mention the hole, it is obvious. Hence the term "noob" question. LOL I did this and several other threads. Thanks for the help man. I will have a couple of these ready by tonight. I have a few sick plants from my first grow(ph issues) that need to get moved a.s.a.p.

Also, if you have lots of bubbles you don't really need the water level right up to the bottom of the netpots. I had mine a good inch below and I had roots in the water the 6th day. Unfortunately, the evil cat Ernie ate them on their 21st day birthday and now I'm starting over. This time 4 OG Kush in a 15 gallon tote with 4 12 inch airstones and a robust air pump.

If u notice at the beggining of the thread i had 4 slots in the lid and only 2 of them have plants in um.
Always cut urself an extra spot or "Work" hole so u can access the reservoir simply man. It just makes life that much more easy.And if ur lazy like me u will understand that haha.
Also,I use a small submersible pump with a piece of 1/2 inch tubing connected to it that i can set right down in the extra slots and pump the water out during res changes

no i didnt top them, just bent em'. the side branching on all sides of the branches i bent shot upward within days. all becoming tops. tooooooo fuckin easy.

and i wont blow you too hard, but wow man......really, your a very well put together grower. i joke way too much but i live off dank buds so i really dont fuck around when it comes to my garden. constantly learning and evolving into the hydroponicist that i am today. ....ok now i'm blowin ,myself.....can you blame me?

Gotta say to anyone watching that im pretty much kinda just as surprised this is going as well as it has.
Everytime i approach the VEG cab im expecting the plants to show signs of major stress considering how hard im feeding as well as the fact im only Vegging these with 52 watts of 65K cfl lighting.
2X26 watt cfls on a y splitter so one over each plant.About 2 inches away.
Checked the PPM @ 1453.
PH solid 5.76 ...Dropped a little but so has my water Level which probably raised the PPM as well but im not worried. I let my water levels vary either way. The pro's say that the top 3rd of the root mass need air. This is something ive always tried to do i guess. Is only allow the bottom two 3rds of the root mass to be submerged in water to feed. Plus im completely paranoid about getting this root rot thing which i havent never had a problem with either. Knock on WOOD.
Havent topped off once.
And i havent done a res change either.Nothing actually.
Nothings broken so im not going to bother with trying to fix it.

ok,again...not blowin you here but...when you can "throw together" a "shitty"dwc set up and neglect it from day 1 under cfl's and it fuckin thrives. you just might have it together like that.

Im going to have to see how this plays out. I dont think my little veg cab is going to be able to handle 4-5 weeks more veg on these things the way its going but im going to give it a shot.

omg why the heck are you tryin to veg in a cab for that long man?

this is what happened in 5 weeks and 4 days in a "light leak" veg. and dwc growth rates are similar if not better. i had to topp these twice and trim 3 times....and i just thinned them out yesterday.
in summation....dont do it man. just mho.

Yea i dont want to top these. Im gonna let them go 2 more weeks then flower them i guess.Its going to be a good 4 weeks i think until i have room under the 400. Ill have to use the 150 for a couple weeks.

Well let the games begin! Hung the 150. Moved um to the flower side and tied them down. So much for my tree attempt. But im sure these things are still going to end up being beastly. Im going to use the 150 until my 400 gets freed up i guess.
