Sorry it's been a while lads, so im gonna spoil you with many pics. Check out this pic with my dog, I managed to take right when he was licking his nose! :mrgreen: You may have noticed I put the other 125w blue in there, but its out side coz the temps were 30c + with it under da hood. Its lighting up the lower foliage and they're loving it. Going to keep it like this for another 2 weeks then put in the red. Oh yeah and pistils are already out on top nodes (this is week 1 of 12/12).

Now I have to go to bed for work tomorrow, to smoke or not to smoke, that is the question.

Sweet, can't wait to see how you get along. So are you going to be using a blue 125w and a blue 200w for veg, and then replace the 125 with a red? If so sounds good, except it would be ideal to have the 200w red and the 125w blue, because you always want more red than blue during flowering. Oh and you must keep them compact with these lights, if you've got more space great, but don't just let them get all lanky. The secret to using these lights is keeping your plants compact so the light doesn't weaken as much when reaching the lower foliage, ppl don't have that prob with HID coz the light has so much penetrating power:hump:. 40cm sounds good, if all goes well you should be getting at least 1/2 ounce per plant. And yes my bill is staying low after all it's just 125w, not much more than your average bulb in a room, I just turn lights of around the house, turn the T.V off stand by, only put enough water in kettle ect. and it tends to balance it out.
loving the avatars on this journal. yeah im switching to a 200w red and a 125 blue for flowering.
going to use the 200 blue to get more seedlings going. mine arent nearly as compact as yours but im keeping them much lower now the lights right on them.
re the costs - not everyone knows elec is cheaper after 11pm and before 7am so if you didnt know now you do(that wasnt advice for titan)

your plants look great. im having watering issues, i overdid my first grow and now im paranoid so im not going too hard on em. i'll get a pic up soon but im ruinin your journal by gabbin. sorry la, just showin praise!

Sorry it's been a while folks. My 2 snow whites are now 2 weeks into flowering, and have pistils coming out all over the place, although I'm disappointed at how small they still are, I should of vegged longer but oh well.
So the 200w red is now on top, with the blue 125w at the side vertically to brighten up the dingy orange and lil bit of extra light is always good. I can almost hear my plants going... ummmmmm, mixed spectrum.:blsmoke:

Only 6 more weeks to go!...:hump:

still looking good! you're using CFLs, right? doesn't using CFLs kind of force you to flower early so you can continue to get decent light penetration?

Yes using cfl's, a horticultural one with 100% PAR. You're quite right, the principle with these lights is to keep them short so the lower foliage can have some decent light intensity. Of course that doesn't really matter with HID systems, but with cfl you'll be amazed how quickly the intensity goes down with increasing distance, I always remind myself of the square index rule: Twice the distance, four times the intensity. The thing is I'm now running 325 watts! But I'd be far better off with a 250w HPS, it's just the heat that's stopping me.

Thanks for watching and thanks again Email.:blsmoke:

those HIDs do get hot. i use that dual-spectrum and have to keep it VERY far away from the little rooted seedlings! like 3-4 feet away!

you're welcome - i'm enjoying the thread. i'd like to do a soil/CFL grow but it just seems like a waste when i have the HIDs and hydro system. So I grow vicariously through the grow journals!

Hi.
Been reading through this thread with interest. Subscribed to this, gonna stick with it to the end. Love your plants, looking real good. Good to see another UK grower!! I planted some Skunk#1 a few days ago and they are just coming through the soil now. I am also using a 125(Blue) Envirolight for veg. Anywho, I'm not gonna dominate your tread with my situation. Iv got one of those journal things if your ever interested.

Good Luck!!!

Can I recommend adding your grow journal link to your signature (or posting the link)?

Cheers mzn, I'll look your grow up. So your in the U.K, tell me, have you had any trouble scoring weed lately? I'm in the south west and it's getting dry a lot more frequently, I'm sure it's because lately the cops have cranked up the bust on large scale growers. Good luck anyway!:blsmoke:

HEHE I envy you with that monster of a light you've got. It's MH right? with a little bit of red or something?? If I had your setup I wouldn't bother with cfl's, unless you like to experiment.
