a/c question

Buddy needs to figure out what wire is needed between both units.
Need a new 30amp breaker for panel. My spares are 20s & 50s.
Also need to figure out how to install the head control unit, and mount that in spare box.
For those that have or are thinking about getting the head control unit for colder temps, that fucker works up to 3 units.
I had bought an outside weather box big enough to hold a few of them, then saw later that single box is fine.
First trip I bought the 3 1/2" hole saw, and didn't get the arbor for it. The arbors I had were not big enough.
I do not want anyone to think I am saving any money at all, the way I am doing this. Every trip to the store and all my help costs money.
All this time, it's all money. Months ago, when I had the cash I should have just had a company buy it and install it and hand me the fucking remote.
I would have made all that money back and some. I have so many issues going on, to try to hustle with this shit is stressful. It must be done though.
We didn't cut and flare the lines (obviously, from pics). There is no heat tape of heat pan on this unit. Not sure how to do it. I am closer that I was a
few days ago.

Why not just get a used central air conditioner, you can get a 48,000 btu one pretty decent even used they aren't too bad plus they normally run less energy and cool a lot more.

Why get raptor hoods and then take the glass out? It makes no sense the entire point of the hood is the feature to cool it down, If you could get them all hooked together and get a fan to push the heat outside you will drop the room temp a good 10-20 degrees in the long run you will save money because you might not even need cooling, or you can save from getting a large unit and not needing it.. I was running 3,200 watt's only 2 were being vented one raptor hood along with cool tube, I was using a 12,000 a/c unit and it was getting too cold in the room, I got a floor a/c 10,000 and it was perfect I could keep my room at 68 degrees no problem, so if you can you should look into venting.

central a/c use alot more electricity than mini splits

glad are you hooking it up 120 or 240?

240 I believe. We are running 10/2 wire from 30amp breaker to the outside 30amp disconnect/fuse box. That is all I know about the power.

thats right, and the small wire to run between units is available at lowes or hd. will having the loops in the lines do anything as far as the coolant or oil is concerned? lowes has a good flare set i got for installing mine.

Thank you superstoner. I will see what they came up with on their day of research. What is the wire exactly? I hope the loops don't fuck up unit. I wanted it cut and flared, they said they had flare kit, not a good cutter. I bought a new cutter first trip. Obviously they were not very confident making the cut. I don't give a shit, as long as it works like that, but I am not convinced it is supposed to be ran like that. What few videos I found said cut it to fit, none said unroll what you need and fuck the rest. lmao. I simply don't know enough about it to say that if it's bled right everything will work fine.

Operation: Make snow during a blizzard resumes today. The last few months haven't rolled as smoothely as the rest of the year has, hopefully today will rock n' roll.

To a point, if your using multiple one's when you could use one central a/c unit then I think you could be wrong, but I guess it depends on many factors.

Not to mention they are hell of a lot cooler, normally they go 24/48k btu and if you find one on craig's list you can get a good deal.

That thinking has drove me crazy all year. My house has baseboard heating and in-floor heating. I do not have any duct work in my house, and on the addition part it would get really crazy. If I could have done central air without having to have everything done, I probably would have. I don't have the money, and I don't know which is even better.

Either way, I think you have a legitimate question. Basically my limited money and limited knowledge limited my cooling to one room, for now.

Nice Job installing that!!guess at some point this winter I should get to unpacking those AC boxes as well. So then I'll be few months early for summer (2013) or posse a few mo's late for '12. all depends on how ya look at er. time fries when yer havin' sum. Oh shit it's snowing..

if i was to build another house soon, i would use a multi room minisplit system instead of central air and ducting. 30-40% loss in ducting alone.
