Just got these Hash Plants in to solo cups a week ago. Under T5s today for first time. I will have Durban, Flo and Tang tomorrow. I'll have an update in a few weeks, but for now, here they are. 42 HP's in Happy Frog soil.

:leaf: Gotta love Hash Plant, flowers fast, loves to be topped, great fruity smell. This pheno is in the family. It comes from clone out of Fort Collins.

 FYI: I am a legal caregiver in Colorado. I have my red card, and about 10 years of growing experience. This is my first go at ALL ORGANIC growing. Starting everything in Happy Frog, and going to sunshine in 15 gallon smart pots for flower. Hope everyone enjoys this journey~!

Alright. I'm in for the duration. Looking good so far! Can't wait to see the Flo. Never run her before but definitely a strain I've been interested in.

Well, I'll put it like this: I asked Ed Rosenthal back when he was in Denver for the grower convention, "What is your favorite strain ever, as a grower?" He name dropped some bay area strain that is what he called 'A crowd pleaser!' I think Flo falls in that category. It is fruity, stinks through the bag, great trichome production, its purple, has red AND orange hairs and has a dark green color to it too. I have grown it for the past year in a half. This is a new pheno. Buddy of mine has loose connections with DJ Short through some of his connections in Cali. It's great for day walkers. You can still knock yourself out with it, if you know what I mean. The Hash Plant is the only thing I have grown before. Love it, it produces OK too. I have a lot of plants right now, but I will only flower so many. In other words, I'm stoked also!

So Hash Plant is starting week 3. I have fed once with Age Old Grow, love this shit! Slowly adding Durbans as they root. The Flo and Tang is mixed in right now. Nothing really to see there.

Just sprayed a week ago with AVID. Works very well. My HP's had spider mites and were covered in eggs. I used dawn dish soap, with zero dies and perfumes, in conjunction with the AVID. No eggs, no mites, nothing left. I'll maintain with Mighty Wash. I've been using this combo for a few years, but I'll switch the Miticides around from AVID, Floramite and Forbid. Mites adapt the the shit, they are fucking monsters. I haven't had a mite problem since I've used miticides. When I have sticky I'll use it, but dish soap works just fine.

Very clean set up. Looks great. Subbed.
Thank you, sir. This is temporary. I have a lot of space to work with, but I have to wait to build my flower room. I have some work being done to my new place. I can't start construction for a few weeks. I have plenty of space for veg. They will be under my hortilux blues very soon. I should be getting atleast 1 Gavita plasma in a couple weeks. That will go nicely with my hort blue in veg!

I picked up a gavita plasma @ waytogrow in Denver ...my plants are absolutely loving it, and for only 300w it's extremely bright...I almost have to cover my eyes walking into the garden lol...I'm curious, what are your thoughts on these lights?

I just bought 4 plasmas and 3 400V HPS 1000 Watters from Gavita. I'll post some pics soon, adding 6 5 footers to my garden right now. I'll have pics in a day or 2. 25 Hashplants, 2 OG Kush @ 5 ft, 1 Headband @ 5 ft, 1 Pot of Gold @ 5 ft, 1 Razzleberry @ 5 ft, and my favorite 1 Jack Herer @ 4.5 ft. Super stoked. I'll have some umbrellas up to fill in the missing space to get 7 lights. Gotta new can-lite filter, which is really well made IMHO...

OH! The best part, got some new nutrients that aren't available for purchase yet. Gonna blow the top off this bitch

Hey Nebulas, I have some questions about the Gavita HPS. It's difficult to find info on them and what's on their website is pretty bare bones. I hope you don't mind my asking because you're one of the only ones I could find who's using them.

What sets these lights apart from other HPS lights i.e. what's their angle?
They say that the lights are perfectly tailored for plant growing; have you had better results with these than with other HPS lights/ballasts e.g. Hortilux Quantum etc?
I've heard that their ballast is special which is why it's attached to the bulb, like they have it tuned to some perfect frequency for output so it can't be remote, but then how do you cool the light?
What's the coverage area with that 1000W light, because it seems the reflector is pretty small when you compare it to a MagnumXXXL for example? So how does it spread the light around?
Where do you get one? Gavita's website doesn't have any kind of shopping cart and I can't find the light listed on any hydro store website?

http://www.monstergardens.com/ you can order them herebut I found them locally...air cooled relfectors loose tons of light from them being behind the glass...a small intake fan into your room/tent should be all you need ...the gavita ballast is the only one on the market that uses a Phillips double ended bulb!! These bulbs only lose about 5% of their par rating a year or something like that theres a video somewhere and with it being 240v it saves a little money in the long run...

That being said I've never used any other ballast so I can't really say I've seen better results but...I got to look at them in the store next to a lumatek digi 1000 and the gavita was noticeably brighter...oh and you can dim it down to 600 660 750 825 1000 and even has an overdrive mode 1150

Awesome! Thanks farmerEd. I think I'm gonna try one. I guess the one with the attached ballast would give the least amount of acoustic resonance (whatever that means). They say that the light runs cooler than most which I suppose is a good thing. How have you found the heat with these lamps? Also, this might sound stupid, but if it's 240-270 Volts, how would you convert it to 120V for US usage?

As long as you have plenty of air flowing in your area and across the ballast you are fine...I can place my palm on my relfector at any time without burning it....

If you dim the ballast down from 1000W to say 600W, do you have to swap the bulb out for a lower wattage bulb, or can you leave the same 1000 watter in there? Somewhat analogous to a switchable desk lamp with different brightness settings?
