Hey everyone sorry the update hasnt come earlier, I ended up staying home for the holidays and have finally returned to my apt. The plants have definitely blown up since ive seen them last and I have actually pulled three of them after looking at the trichs. I cannot believe how good they smell, its almost like sugar and citrus (which is strange considering I expected a musky smell from cheese). Trimming the cheese has been a bitch though, I cant make it through a single bud without having to scrape off my scissors and my fingers are sticking to everything (including the keyboard, typing isnt easy right now not that im complaining:mrgreen:) The purple dragon has finished drying and is in the process of curing (only cured for a week so far). I have smoked some of it and was stuck on my couch for a good part of the day! Super strong and really tasty, almost like diesle or kush. Ill have some more pics of the remaining two soon, but heres a few harvest pics and some nug porn to hold you over! The first pics are of one plant before the fan leaves had been removed and after.

First off welcome back and I hope you enjoyed the holidays. Great job on the grow my friend. It's always nice to come home to a plant that's ready to be harvested. The nugs definitely look nice, sweet and sticky.

Peace.

Thanks a lot man! The plants seemed just as healthy as ever which is new to me, but I checked the trichomes and they're 50/50 so their time has come so to speak. The hard work has definitely payed off I can't wait to smoke it!

Well the cheese is finally finished and drying! Im not sure about total weight but I think ill be averaging 2 ounces per plant dry (not bad but I was hoping for closer to 3, oh well). The buds are beautiful though and the smell is out of this world! The pictures are of the last plant to finish and a few nug shots. Enjoy!

SMOKE REPORT: Cheese

I have a few nugs from the first plant harvested which are now dry and have been curing for just under a week. They're not at their prime yet but definitely smokable. This will be my last post on this thread as I have started my next grow journal (Granddaddy Blueberry). Check it out if you get a chance!

600w Granddaddy Blueberry SOG: pics

Appearance:
The buds are bright orange in color from the thick coating of golden trichomes and the orange hairs definitely living up to its reputation. The buds are fairly dense and nearly impossible to handle without coating your fingers in sticky resin. I would have trimmed them a little better but even the small amount I did trim off was completely covered in trichomes and to trim any more seemed like a waste.

Smell:
They dont have the musky cheesy smell I was expecting, they smell more like lemon candy rolled in sugar. The smell is even more intense when you squeeze a nug making me wonder if the strain was really cheese afterall (I did get the clones from the harborside dispensery but who knows where they got them from).

Taste:
This is where the strain really shines. After taking a massive hit out of my new glass (2 foot straight-shooter with a 9 arm tree perc and a honeycomb ash catcher) the first thing I noticed was how incredibly smooth the smoke was. It felt like hitting a vape more than a bong. The smoke tasted just like it smelled only much sweeter. At first all I could taste was sugar but after a few moments there was definitely a citris aftertaste that lingered a good while. Definitely one of the best tasting strains I have had in a while.

High:
The high comes on immediately and with force, one hit and you can feel it going to work. It has a nice steady body high and an intense cerebral high that left a smile plastered on my face for a good couple of hours. Despite the high being fairly strong, I found myself unable to stop talking (which rarely happens when im that baked). Me and a few friends wasted a good hour debating whether a joint was superior to a blunt or vice versa (joints always win in my opinion). This strain also gave me some pretty gnarly munchies which is always nice.

Overall:
Im stoked on the quality of the buds, they smell and look decent enough and the high is energetic and uplifting which is what I look for. Below are a few pics of the buds curing right now. Thanks to everyone who checked out this thread!

they really do look like awesome buds, I would love to have one of those sitting pretty in my jar right now .... its empty :(

Respect on the kind buds man. They look like they soaked up the 600 crossed with the cfl combination real well.

Question for you; I'm currently running a 5 x 5 x 6 tent w/ 1000 hps all duct outside, I'm digging the efficiency of using more wattage with a little more space, but it just a little to big and looking to replace with a 4 x 4. How do you like working with the 4 x 4?

Thanks for the comment crasta! Sick profile pic also, is that you? I love my 4x4, Its small enough to fit in my room but big enough to grow some good sized plants. I LST all my plants so they never really get over 24" tall but there was enough room in my tent to easily fit 5 plants in five gallon buckets with room to spare. Ive got 16 one gallon buckets in there right now and I could easily fit another 10-15 but I dont know much about the strain so im leaving extra room in case they bush out. If youre only trying to grow a max of 9 plants in 5 gallon buckets I would switch to the 4x4. Check out my next grow to see how much space I have with the 16 plants in there right now. What type of grow are you trying to do?

Thanks a lot man, definitely appreciate the compliment! Im not sure on the total yield yet, only the popcorn nugs are dry enough to start curing, but the bigger nugs all weighed between 18-30 grams a piece wet so about 4-7 grams dry. Im thinking I pulled just over 10 ounces from 5 plants which is kinda low but there were some temp problems (dropped to 68*F) during the last 10 days of flowering when my friend was watching the girls for me so I think I lost a bit of weight because of that. Haha I would fill your jar if I could dude, I just suffered through a month of empty jars waiting for this to be finished so I feel your pain. Come check out my next grow, its Granddaddy Blueberry should be good stuff!
