WaterFarm x 4 = $240 (comes with medium)
Sunlight Supply Yield Master II Classic Reflector = $80
600w HPS Bulb = $85
8-bulb 2' T5 Kit = $180
Vortex 4" fan = $160
Phresh 4"x8" = $90
HydroHut Silver 3'x3' = $235
So, approx = $1070 US (670 UK) plus a bunch of small items along the way. I probably would have spent less knowing what I know now, but I'm learning, so I will give myself a pass. I figure the savings I will gain by not needing to pay retail will make up for it soon enough.

Yeah, it pays to take care of the equipment, however much it costs. As close as one can get to nutrients and electricity, the better. I know they aren't quite there yet, but that is the reason I am personally excited about CFL and LED lighting. I wish there weren't so many haters, but I'm sure technology will take care of that eventually!
Plus, as a new grower, I suppose I can understand how some of the OGs don't necessarily like all the fresh faces when they have been growing before there was that MMJ legal barrier. I do the same thing with good music! Thanks for all the comments everyone! It's encouraging!

Buds are starting to fill out. I'm finding excuses to touch the buds! The trainwreck is almost citrus flavored, and the purple kush is very sweet and berry smelling. The hairs are really starting to turn orange as well. I was a little worried about my larger kush plant. It is taller than the others, and I think got a little burned out. I raised the light a couple of inches and changed some circulation around about 4 days ago, and it seems to be making all the difference. My PPMs are running about 1600 right now. They seem to be enjoying it, but I might taper it off before the flush.

I did this because I was having a hard time keeping the temps under 85. I think it may be where I am growing. I might need to get an A/C after this run.

Thanks! I will post an update tomorrow (Day 43). I am hoping to get some feedback about how close these buds are. My two purple kush plants look to be definitely finishing before my two trainwrecks. The difference is in the amount of orange/white hairs. Thanks for the the positive feedback!

Some update pics if anyone is still paying attention. My 2 purple kush plants are about 5 days away from chopping. They have been on plain ol' water with a little Technoflora Sugar Daddy for the last week. I flushed out the waterfarms by filling them up with water and completely draining them 2 times each before starting them on their pre-flush cycle. Tomorrow I will flush them and have them in just water for the last 5 days. They are the two in the front of the tent and the plants in the close ups. Seems to be a nice mix of clear and milky trichomes, just the way I like it!
One of my p. kush's looks relatively normal and smells fruity (the huge one.) The buds on the other aren't as tight and shapely, but they are lousy with crystals, and smell more like chemicals, although it seems to be sweetening up.
My two trainwrecks are looking good too. The buds are tight as all hell, and smell a little tangier. I figure that I can start flushing them after I chop the kush plants.

I just sat down and read every word, observed every image. Very impressive stuff for a first go around. Excellent camera work as well. It's important. You've got a bright future ahead of you and hopefully some lucky friends. I love it when I get to pass around that good stink after a harvest. Enjoy man. They're almost ready. I feel like you can never over flush.

Thank you for the kind words! I just bought my last bag before I will be using my own product, and it is especially bad. As soon as the lighter hits green, it's like the 4th of July with all the popping and crackling. Rice Krispies doesn't have shit on this stuff! Definitely looking forward to non-dealer weed!
Today is day 60, and seeing as the 2 kush's have been nuteless for the better part of 2 weeks, I am considering bringing at least one of these down tonight. Bud growth is long over, and water uptake has slowed a lot. The trichs are right about where I want them too, sans amber. I will definitely post some pics if I end up pulling the trigger tonight! Aight, just finished chopping the smaller of my 2 purple kush plants. Here is a picture of the buds I pulled off the thing. Needs some trimming, but these buds are heavy as hell. Totally resinous! It was a huge sticky mess, but it looks very interesting.
I will post the other kush when I get her chopped... Starting to run out of room to hang all these mothers. I forgot they needed to be dark, I was just going to hang them in the top of my tent!

Wow you weren't kidding when you said you had some trimming to do still. I'd recommend doing it wet. The buds will dry faster if all those leaves are gone. I saw this thing at I believe either Wal Fart or perhaps Lowes that would help you with drying. It's a 5 foot long 1 foot in diameter circular mesh hanging shelf type thing with several compartments. I swear this thing was meant for drying bud. I'm trying to find a picture online right now. It's basically a hanging shelving unit made entirely of mesh. You can lay the buds flat in it making sure nothing is overlapping and get much more bud drying in the same amount of space. I'll try find a picture. I know it was either wal fart or lowes that had it.

Thanks for the great comments! Good to know I am on the right path! It was a late one last night, but I got the other kush cut and mostly trimmed.
Can't wait to weight that mofro! The netting thing looks great! I have them on hangers right now in a closet. I figure that when I chop the trainwrecks in a few days I can transfer them into the tent. Thanks again for all the help and support.
