Hey tanker what do you think ill pull out of my tent weight wise? What are you expecting??
I expect over and ounce but past that I hate to guess :) to afraid of jinxing myself.

Remember that organics will consistently yield 30-40% less than a strong chemical fertilizer line-up. A pro going hydro can yield a lb off a 600. We're using soil so I would subtract 5% for that, 5+% for not being a pro, and 35% for organic. So maybe around 8.8 oz? I would be happy with a half pound of quality meds. On the other hand I pulled >.55g/w with CFLs so if I repeat that I could technically hit 12oz. Oh, I pull my plants early too - I don't like any amber trichs so who knows.

Thank the lord I'm just growing for myself and don't really need to worry about yield - regardless growing will be much cheaper than buying the stuff, right?

What is technically peak ripeness?? Is it milky with some amber and clear heads?? And if I wanna get em to give me the more indica stone, that's what it felt like to me when I smoked em. I felt high but stoned. So I'm thinking a mix but how much amber is too much amber?

Can't say I agree with this statement at all...30-40% seems pretty arbitrary. Under appropriate conditions I think the yields are comparable between organic soil and synthetic soil grows. Hydro may yield more than soil, but I think hydro just grows more rapidly than soil.

I see a couple ounces easy from the tops in this pic...

I grow in a 6x6 tent with roughly 16 plants (4 rows of 4) under a 600w and yield about 1.5 ounces per plant on average using 100% organics.

Feed properly, provide adequate airflow/ventilation, don't over/under water, maintain reasonable temps...these things will influence yield to a greater degree than nutrient selection in my opinion. :peace:

i had no idea of the loss of product using organics. kinda frustrating. i want my patients to have quality and no chemical meds but i need the extra to pay my expenses.

DID YOU READ MY POST?

There isn't a loss of 30-40%. I'm not sure where that number originated but it flat out IS NOT ACCURATE.

I am not saying you are guaranteed a 30-40% loss but if you compare large scale organic farming and large scale non organic farming there is a roughly a 40% drop in yield. These are professional growers whose lives depend on making money which means their lives depend on upping yield as well. Luckily there is a 40% markup on organic produce.

Now growing marijuana organically is slightly different as we tend to spend much much much more money to slight increase yield which large scale would not be economically feasible to produce farmers.

You may not see a 40% decline but there will be a decline. If you compare a full organic grow done perfectly and then compare a chem nute schedule done perfectly where will be a discrepancy in favor of the chem line. I couldn't give you specifics on the decline in small scale indoor grows but ask any large outdoor organic grower if yields compare and they will tell you that they surely do not.

Jerry is a great grower though so if he says you can hit over a pound indoors organically under a 600w I would go study his tech and replicate it identically - I might have to do that next go around.

Peak ripeness is all up to the consumer. I like my bud picked early aiming for all cloudy but no amber. I smoke most all day long and don't like to be tired or out of it so medically is just works better for me. I think people generally prefer a 70% cloudy and 30% amber - often they will ask for a higher % amber but generally I find they enjoy a lower %.

Thanks everyone, little update, built a veg cab out of a large box today, it works but ill be gettin something different in the next couple weeks that's more roomy and light tight. They can prob get to 1 foot a piece in the little one I have. At the moments its powered by a 18w 6500k cfl but ill be getting larger ones fri as well as some other shit I need.

Question! I was thinking about adding seabird guano to bump up my yield, do you guys think its necessary with my current lineup or would it just give me the same results. I don't have any problems with the general organics line but I just wonder if they'd get bigger if I added it... thanks guys.

I completely disagree with this statement. I do feel that you are grossly mistaken, and in my experience I have had considerable yields in both organics and synthetics.

For me, organics wins every time, hands down, as to my preferred smoke.

edit: mrorganics--- feed em if they need em.

u dont want to use it for flowering but it is doing a great job in my veg plants. i have some with sbg and flora grow and imo it is out growing the flor grow. im gonna start just using that my next set of clones.

My bottle nutes already contain molassas, do you reccomend I add more? If so how much and what kind of molassas?

Organic blackstrap molasses, brands dont really matter, imo.

It cant hurt to supplement. I feed molasses once a week or so. Some people say do less, others more. Once a week works well for me.

My belief is that the microorganisms need the sugar to feed themselves, which in turns allows them to work to break down the nutes in the soil in order to feed my plants.

In my experience, I notice increased growth almost immediately after(1-3 days) I feed with molasses. The growth then tails off at about the 4-6 day mark, so I feed more molasses on the 7th day. However, I always make sure I have atleast one plain-water watering between my molasses feeds. Works well for me.

If it's already in there I guess you are set. If you decide to add more generally it's a spoonful per gallon of water. I'm using brier rabbit atm but if you plan on growing in the future you might as well get a couple gallons for real cheap at a garden store or livestock feed store.

I think I might be covered on my living soil. I've been noticeing hard soil on the top of my containers and they look weird and I'm like wtf is that and I poke it its nothing but roots. Overall I'm pleased with this line so far, I might try the molasses next time or soon if I have issues but so far I think what is in the bottles I use take care of the roots. That myco maddness has also been whoopin ass. I transplanted a week into flower and within days I had roots poppin all out the side of my smartpots. Now I don't even pick em up cuz all the roots coming out the bottom.
