Not paying for power at all, so i thought it would be better to go 24 straight till 12/12... I will find a digital timer tomorrow and make it 18/6. Will a bulb upgrade speed up veg time like spending 140$ on a bulb really worth it?
i find the 18/6 grow faster then the 24hr and stronger 2 but its up 2 u

Yeah, the hand test was made for your situation. With a 600W bulb you should be OK up to 12 inches from the bulb. Remember, metal halide bulbs burn hotter than HPS bulbs of the same wattage. Good luck, BigSteve.

Sun Blaster 53w HO's 4 tubes for every 6 plants. I also leave them for a week and throw in a 2700 with the 3 6500's at the start of 12/12. The seedlings do way better IMO than my 600 mh for reasons unknown lol.

Thinking 2" is pretty close but really dont know. I run wing reflectors that are ducted on top to act as room extraction as well as heat extraction.

I was thinking we will only ever have 5 plants being vegged so what size t5 would be best for them? Also these will be mainlined.

Some run them for the whole grow but I find the buds are a bit whispy. I have used them for flower as well but only once and it was really hot so they were a lot cooler than hids.

Hey guys I am currently Vegging a White Widow hybrid strain under 24 hours of light. I have the light roughly 30" from the tops of the plants which is 2 ft 6 inches. its 1 week in and they were stunted alittle from the transplant, they are about 6" tall now. I plan on main-lining these.

Temps for the day time is 25-27 degrees and never drop under 24 at night as i have a small space heater in the room.

Ok now for what i need help with under the 600w light am i too close? it seems the plants are growing towards the brightest part of the light... is this normal? I have them in 10gallon pots already and the soil is just PROMIX with some fish fert and chicken shit mixed in.

I will start feeding them 300 ppm with 6.3 ph asap

Thanks for reading.
Why I never transplant.
germ seed in paper tissue
Put in jiffy pellet when 1 cm root shows jiffy straight into pot no water for. 1 day then very little water never stunted a plant it's stupid lol ask any person who want to maximise veg during a auto grow why shouldn't this applie to any photo plant u wanna maximise veg speed no fck around with stunted plants due to root damage it's all about the watering and nuts for a seedling

I didn't read through everything, but I rate a 18/6 light schedule and moving the light a little closer will help. 30" is far away, My cool-tube canopy stays very cool, and i bring the 400w halide down to 4" above the tops.

My 0.02$

Good luck

Cant tell you much because you didn't post pictures of your whole setup.
Get a laser point thermostat and point at the leaf and see what temps are.
You shouldn't worry about light, because the plant is so small it dosent even need much light,
