6 Weeks(ish) Plant, Need Experienced Eyes

the fact that the plant is 6 weeks old, from seed. I'd have thought by now it would have shown sex. Since my males always show later then my females, I wouldn't bet you on that and would assume it will be a male also.

another reason why i said it could be male is cause of the way its branching..there are no branches really lol just fan leaves and that is a male tendency also but yea i agree with most of the things u said and would never say im 100% sure cuz u never know especially since its a window grow and there's no other plants next to it to comapare

I'm actually glad you bring that up. I would have just attributed it to being in a window with poor lighting.

i personally have never done a window grow but i just might do one with a freebie auto flower just for the hell of it..i have a boy doing a window grow with a female clone right now and its skinny but branched out decently for a window grow and i've seen lots of window grows online that actually were pretty nice looking

Males will tend to grow more rapidly and stronger then females. Generally you cant tell by looking at a plant what the sex is. But there are times when males will grow mainly fan leaves and no branches. But as far as male plants being tall and females being short, theres no distinction. The height and width of your plants has more to do with the way you grow it, especially indoors.

Thanks for all the replies.

If it's likely to turn out male, then I think I'll be a little more patient and wait until it shows it's gender for sure. I'd rather not waste the batteries until then. Also, despite the advice of getting a bigger pot. I don't really have the room for it. And as I said, max yield isn't too much of a priority. I just want to get one successful grow under my belt. From what I understand, it'll possibly double in size during flower as long as I keep her (fingers still crossed) fed. So the estimated size is more than what I hoped for, for now.

I do have a couple of other plants on the go, but they're still in seedling phase atm. This week's weather has been a little colder and overcast, so the poor little mites aren't growing as fast, but it might be the strain. I bought 10 Skunk #1 seeds from Attitude and I hope they turn out better. Summer's here, but with the back and forth weather, I may just build a stealth nursery from an old PC case with fans, some CFLs and some mylar I have knocking around. If that goes well, I may have an all year pipeline with reasonable (80-90 day, perhaps faster) turnaround from seed.

One thing's for sure, I prefer the 'fire and forget' nature of soil grow.

Again, thanks for the help.

I don't have any grows under my belt personally, but I have witnessed about 5. From bagseeds that were FROM THE SAME BAG, I've noticed, like mentioned earlier in this thread, that the males do typically grow taller faster and can even be more smelly than the females prior to budding. Funny thing is, all the best looking and smelling plants always seemed to turn out male!

With these pictures, I would say though, that the lankiness and lack of good vegetation is due to the poor lighting conditions. Just my opinion.

THAT is a male, after 40 days HE was no taller then 12" and was ALL bush and NO stretch.

This could be strain dependent....but I just pointing out that males arnt always tall and lanky
You know thats short and bushy cos you topped it, right? And 45 days to show sex is WAY too long, they should be showing after the 8th-10th node, if it takes you 45 days to get to there...well then you shouldn't be giving out advice IMO.

Generally speaking, normal untopped plants will have tall skinny males and shorter bushier females. This is a fact, dont try contradict it cos your one topped male was short and bushy (exactly what happens when you top)

Oh and saying "the female looked EXACTLY the same, just slightly more squat and bushy"...just *facepalm* Were they EXACTLY the same or not?

if males were tall and lanky....
i would have culled all my LSD females then.
and that would have sucked.
wait till flower..... or cut a clone, root it, and force flower it as soon as it roots and you will know the sex.

No offense hazeforlife, but those plants all look the same because they're still only babies, they havnt even started branching properly yet...thats how all young (untopped) plants look before they "grow up".

Read Jorge Cervante's book, it says clearly that males will generally display more vigor and growth initially than female plants. Alot of times on here you'll see that the plants people are happiest with in veg for being strong, fast growers compared to the rest are more likely to be male.

But what the hell, believe the other guys on the forum, arguing that because their topped male plants arnt taller and lankier than their female topped plants (but they are a little taller and lankier apparently, even tho they're exactly the same apparently) that they're correct and all the rest of us go to hell.

i have some outdoor plants growing and it has pistols but at the same time it has seed saks poping out? any tips on wut i should do? keep it or jus cut it????
