You did what I told you. Must not have used the anchors or didn't screw into a stud. My 6" fans are hanging and are pretty much silent.
I'm goods now lol got it rigged up..u think I should exhaust inside instead of out like above bro ?

lol I've got about 15 holes in my celing from failed attempts to hang things. Finally found these plastic threaded screw anchors that can hold 50 pounds each. And I think exausting to a different room will be fine. I don't think having a heat sig blowing out your window is a good idea. I was going to but decided against it.

It might make your ac run more. If I understand right your exausting through duct across the celing between the joists and into a different room? The only thing is is that will be humid warm air blowing right onto your electric panel. Run it past there so it's not blowing right on it. Prob wouldn't be a problem but moisture and electrical no good

Should have it all in the mail tm hopefully but work tm night. So Tuesday fosho..

Back onto my exhaust I need clarification..
Right now room is 81.. Outside room two feet is 71..
Here is hallway to growroom. Along with room next to it..with panel in corner .

I want to make a hole in the wall and run out on the outside up there across cieling of other room that leads to panel..u can see there's 8dt distance from wall to panel .

All the ducting on my 8" fan will pretty Much be 6".. From fan to hood reduced to 6 and then through hood through wall as 6 and just let 5 extra feet hang in the joists so its blowing more towards the panel ( away from my fresh air intake )

Thanks for the replies bro..let me know if this is a good idea..I don't think it would cause my ac to run THAT much more

There will be no harm in blowing hot air at electrical and insulation and drywall correct ?

Any questions please ask..it would be a lot less heatscore to just have it exhaust inside.. It won't smell right? Brand new 8" carbon filter

Okay I think I get it. I don't think you'll have a problem Man. Looks good. The reduced couplings will just make the fan work a little harder maybe a little louder than if it was breathing more open 8". Don't think it'll be significant. And yea I ditched my Exaust to outdoors cause it's just an obvious sign of what your doing blowing hot air out a window. I think you'll be surprised at how much other room heats up. Might need to add an ac vent if it gets to that point. My LED lights really make the next room over very warm. I had an extra ac duct going to my bathroom I didn't need so I just added that one to my grow room

I have a 6" x 12" phresh carbon fikter and I think it would keep the smell away for 4 plants no problem. I don't think you'll have any scent issues man!

So the exhaust blowing at drywall insulation and wires won't be hot enough to harm ? It comes out here
don't foresee a problem with that, it ain't hot enough to melt the wires. hopefully some of our friends hereon in RIU can chime in....

I can't tell where your Exaust is compared to the electrical panel. I'm sure heat won't be an issue just that having moist warm air blowing right on it might not be best for long term. I try to think of my whole setup for years to come. 5 years of blowing air that was very hot and humid and quickly cooling down will make more condensation. Never know. I'm jealous of your designated room! I wish I had a cellar or basement.

If u look at the pic I'm standing between the wall of each room..above white cupboard is where I wanna put the exhaust and u see on the other side the white cieling it would be running across to the panel at the far left.

Would putting a 6" hole in concrete wall do any structural damage ? Its the front wall to the house

What I'm saying is the ducting will run on top of the drywall of basement and underneath living room floor between them a couple feet and have a 1.5ft wide x 1 ft tall by 6ft long to exhaust into..and at the end would be here

Ok. So are you making another hole where the panel is for the Exaust? Or just letting it blow out whatever opening is there? I think I get it. And no I doubt a 6" hole will cause any strucural issues. Maybe take out a square hole or a rectangle hole and re enforce around a 6" round hole if your worried about it.

Is there no way to just run all of your duct through the void between the celing and upstsirs floor? And just have your fan in your grow area and straight up and through the ceiling to the panel area(which I reccomend attaching elbow and blowing air down in front of the panel area or anywhere in that room. It will look like a normal vent.

I wanna make hole on at top inside of room

IMAG1028.jpg

And go through on the outside above cupboard
HereIMAG1042.jpg

Then up top left of the ccupboard between the joists

IMAG1039.jpg

And have 3-4 ft ducting sitting there ontop of drywall blowing on top of the cieling i n this room

Understand ?..the ducting isn't in this room..but runnin on top of the drywall in the picture.. And blowing across. In between upstairs floor and downstairs cieling.. U can see elect panel too

The temps of the room your pulling air from should keep that room under 82 no prob once you get the 8" fan. Once you get real good and everything then you could do a sealed environment with those cooled hoods keeping some heat out. And running co2 the heat can get higher. I plan to try it once I get everything else down.

Yes I got it. What I'm sayin is could do away with going through the wall there. And go stright up through celing of grow room and across joists to the other room. Seems simpler. Less cutting

Does the joist space connect between the two rooms? If so just hang the fan and filter in grow room and go straight up through drywall and iver to ther room. If it was me I would cut a rectangle vent hole in that Exaust room ceiling as soon as the duct enters that room. Don't see the need to run the duct the extra feet across the room only to blow it out of what hole?

I understand your setup good. i just don't see a hole where the Exaust will come out except for whatever cracks are around the electrical panel and the area around the joists. It's not good to have that moist air blowing in between your walls. Could cause a mold problem. I know cause on my home inspection one of my bathroom Exaust fans was just blowing into the dead space between floors. It was a mold concern and was noted before I bought the home.
