40cm (1'4") x 40cm SOG?

Hi, everyone.

I have a tiny tent, 1200mm (4ft) tall with a base of 400(1'4") x 400mm.

Would it be a better use of space to grow a few main buds from a few small plants, or to train a single plant to use the space?

I'd rather stick to one plant but if SOG is is more productive (or possible) in such a tiny area, maybe I'll have a crack at it.

I have about 500mm (1'8") of height from pot to light.

Thanks for any help.

That is a really small space in both the square footage and allowable plant height. Are you going from seed or do you have clones?

I grow in about 18-30"...grow my plants to around 12" and now I scrog it.
I just made my own scrog nets and this is my first attempt at scrog-ing and even trying a net that is supported by the plant itself...well so far so good.
As its growing in veg and being tied down (I brought it all up from the center and tied it on top of net).
Hoping this will help some when its chop day and need to remove the branches off the net...when you weave it in and out I'm sure that can be a problem on harvest day ?
GG#4-1 ~ 10 days into 12:12 cycle.

24" x 24" x 40" space. -6 for res, - 12" down for light = grow area left ~22" and plant is 10" I think, so total of 12" to flower in, but can expand up to 8" more.
Scrog nets are 21" x 21"...left some extra space on the edges for 24" x 24" space.

I'd do a scrog if its limited space...other wise I'd tie it down and open it up that way...isn't it when the light gets to more places = more product ?

Thanks, Mak'er Grow. I reckon I'll be using that method, too.
Now mind you when the scrog net first goes in the plant is still kind of small and cant really hold the net very well so i just pop some PVC tubes on the edges (with slots cut into them around 8", but can be any height) and once the plant can hold up the net I pop the supports off and presto...lol

As you can see I use chop sticks to hold the PVC on...if it keeps popping off or something...wedged/tight fit and it stays until you want it off.
The edges are coat hangers cut to 25" and then 2" bends (gives me 21" x 21" nets).
Changed tape to air line tubes now but 2 on each corner.
The cross sections are dollar store cheapo plant wire...small gauge and easy to work with...loop it around any other wires you cross.
Measure so the center has an open square and not the crossed wire...another change (I use chalk on my floor...lol)
I didn't take a pic of the newer one before I put it in.

Thanks, Mak'er Grow. I think that I'll be using that design. I love the quick-release legs and the 'measure from the middle' sounds like a pretty good tip, as well. Thanks. The chopsticks, I only have good ones. I think I'll have to call for some Chinese food, right away.

That is part of the process of harvesting from a SCROG. You most likely will have to sacrifice some of the mesh to get the branches out. Spools of string and new nets are not expensive so if you have to, hack that net to reap that bud.

I preferred something sturdier to keep the mesh taut during the veg and weave. Also preferred it to be "cost effective".

SCROG Net.jpg

A 1" x 1" wood trim frame cut to 22" x 22" with screws every 2.5". I have two of these in my flower tent which helps me cover the 2 x 4 area. Constructing 4 of these nets ran me less than $20. The frame stays solid and the mesh stays tight throughout the grow. I cut the existing string when harvesting and can restring the frame in just a couple of minutes.

looks like one cut will loosen the lot. Nice.
You got it. One 250' roll of that nylon parcel twine (technically, it's not sold as "string" ...) runs $5 and a 250' roll can last for 6 grows. Less than $1 per grow to yield me 12 - 14 oz. Yeah, I'm good with cutting it.
