I grew in plain coco a few years back and LOVED it! Takes a little getting use to but you can get some great results.
Yea I've read a lot of success stories. I support the "start a coco section" thread.

Why don't u use it anymore?

Well I quit growing for awhile due to legal issues in Iowa. I just recently moved back to Oregon in May and am now a legal grower so no more legal issues. LOL Going to get back into growing with coco in the near future, I just started back up with soil because it is simple and I wanted to get a few crops done. Thinking after this harvest or the next I will start transitioning back to coco. :)

Harvested yesterday. Wet weight around 200 grams. So I'll be shy of 2 zips. I'm just glad I got 2 more at 20 days flower and I just put my number 1 in there last night (that's what she said). Otherwise a harvest of not even 2 ounces is a fail in my book. I took a few pics. Can't upload with my phone right now

Don't feel bad bro, my last harvest(4 plants) totaled just under 4Oz. I was less than thrilled but then again conditions were not ideal, but still I thought that was pretty damn lame under 1,000w. Have produced far better crops under a 400w light in the past. Doesn't help that i had to take an almost 2 year long break from growing either, gotta clean out the cobwebs and get back in the groove!!!! LOL

i started growing about 2 years ago. my first crop i harvested 3 plants for 2.5 Oz

my second crop was indoor bagseed, throughout the winter i upgraded here and there and ended up harvesting 4 Oz off a monster scrog and a reg scrog (had to harvest a bit early due to smell issues.

my third crop was outdoor, harvested a QP off 1 plant that i actually got to chop, the rest got jacked.

on my third crop now and should be great!! its time and methods, trial and error man, your plants look great!! just need to train to increase yeild for the amount of space you have. I seen a thread where a dude harvested 1 Lb out of a fucking stealth wardrobe and 1 plant.......like i said its all trial and error, you should try out the ScROG tech its really good. May require longer veg times but worth it in the long run to veg for an additional 4 weeks and harvest 5x the bud.

its beenawhile!!!! busy times eh? anyway all is well. got 3 in flower right now. 2 are 30days flaower the other is only like 8-9 days flower. i took pics but my usb cable is MIA. if ive learned anything from this harvest i think its veg longer and LST harder. my 2 girls that are 30 days in flower are LST's and i did abetter job. its a somewhat even canopy. smaller plants tho. dont worry ill get pics up. what else.......hmm....been thinking of starting a DWC bucket.......

so lets see if ive figured this uploader out

heres what i harvested

about an ounce dry. good stuff. happy about quality.

ive got 3 in flower right now. here are 2 that are on day 35 since flip. my first attempts at LST as well.
20121230_221511(0).jpg20121230_221321.jpg

this one is 15 days since flip. the flowers show about 10 days in. shes a little bigger. shes also got some sort of shit goin on with the lower leaves. im not gonna cry yet because i think its a ph issue and will use distilled ph'd water next time she needs it.
20121230_220910.jpg20121230_220941.jpg

heres what i got in veg. alot to explain here so here it goes. first picture; the 2A marked plant is the bagseed strain. this is a clone from a clone from the seed mother. anyway this run will determine whether or not i keep it goin because the last harvest the weed was kinda shitty but i blame it on grower error and not genetics....quite yet. so ok, first picture still but the bucket behind it. this is my reliable strain and she has some lst goin on. the plan is to train her around the bucket and keep a low even canopy. im going for the effects of a scrog, without the screen. on to the 2nd picture. the plant in the clay pot is.....that stunted clone ive had for months now. read some of the old posts and youll find her. the ganja plant on the right is a clone that is growing well. ill put her in something bigger soon and maybe she will be a mother plant. then an aloe vera plant that was poorly kept and now i adopted it.

i started the one on the right, the same way i started the one on the left. but the one on the left i threw into flower befor i could really manipulate where to go. i dont really have any idea what im doing. ;-).

ordered my 1k watt light kit last night so ill be able to ditch the CFL's for veg and use my 600w MH for veg and the 1k HPS for flower.
Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, i'm new to this. Why do you need to have separate lights for Veg and Flowering? you can't use the same for both?

Loving the plants man! Your girls at 35 days are about a week and a half (+/-) ahead of my girls, which are slowly but surely starting to fatten up! Will be interesting to see how the two of our grows compare at the end.

You can use the same lights for both veg and flower, but using an MH for veg and a HPS for flower is supposed to be the most beneficial way to grow. That and the spectrum of light given off by each is WAY different, the MH mimicing the summer and longer days(12 hours or more of light) and the HPS mimics the Winter and shorter days(12 hours or less of light). I personally veg my clones and seedlings under a T5 until the HPS becomes avaliable then I will veg then under the 1,000 watt HPS for a month or so before turning back the lights. I quit using a MH when I switched to a 1,000w ballast due to no being able to afford a MH and kind of liking the results of veg under the HPS. Honestly I think it is just a matter of experience and grower preference as to what you want to do. Hope this helps out. :-)

thanks man! the bud IS really good. i even had a friend tell me " its the best in the world" lol. granted i dont live in a medical state and the way we classify our weed is either regs or dank. 30s or 60s. seeds or no seeds. ya get the idea i hope. im down to half a gram as of today which sucks balls.

speaking of fattening up, i added mollasses to one of the girls and it seems her buds are fatter. same strain same age. im not experienced enough to pinpoint it to that tho....

yeah i have friends that wait patiently for my harvests and tell me i grow the best shit in the state. and they have other friends that grow and i am in a medical state. so i take that compliment verry well. pat myself on the back and remind myself that im still not fully happy with the results. I am getting there though. this fruity chronic juice im growing out now is going to be so killer. its really hard to keep waiting at this point as the buds are fully developed and would offer exceptional smoke. but they still have about 10 days left if not more to fatten up so i dont want to kill my yeild of being a bit impatient. This will actually be the first plant out of 3 previous grows that i have been able to harvest when ripe and not have something fuck me up and make me chop early so im pretty excited about that.

in all fairness you really have to be using 2 clones from the same mother to do any kind of comparison with the effects of feeding anything. the reason i say this is with a true scientific experiment there cant really be any variables in play like genetic differences, and yes even though they are the same strain they will not have the same genetic makeup.

you also have to have a controll plant that is fed nothing but plain water.

so to do legit side by side you need 1-2 controll plants being fed nothing but water in the same soil.

then your variable plants that are being fed the different things your trying to experiment with. see where im going with this, i know its kinda irrelivent as you arent really stating any scientific finds just your perceptions.

anyways. the plants dont even really eat the molasses, the microbes in your soil do and it gives them a huge carb boost which allows them to reproduce at verry fast rates, which in turn gives more life to your soil and that means more organics are broken down and more nutrients are avaialable for the plant to uptake. (hope that makes sense)

Yes it makes sence. And im not trying to conclude anything just kinda trial and error still. But they r both from the same mother plant. In the same soil as well. From what ive read there is nothing bad abput using molasses so its like y not. I would assume tho if the grow was not toally organic the miceobes would not be present therefor the molasses wouldnt do shit. Am I on the right track?

Side note im totally stoked my buddy had ordered some feminised white widow and said he would give me a seed. They were not cheap like 120 for 10 seeds or some shit. But anyway he got them today in the mail. Woot

Sry for all the spelling errors. My phone keyboard is tiny and its hard to fix them all.

He got his from sensible seeds.

Side note on that mollasses. I did read that it is acidic so too much could possibly throw ph outa whack?
