2nd Grow/Early Misty/No Plan

Just got a 150 watt. I'm so excited because I can put it up close to my plants and it doesn't burn them. Well, with the homebox and the light, I think the "no plan" has turned into the "great plan".

The hose actually fell tonight while I was situating the tent and broke off the very top of one of my plants. TOtally sucks. We'll see how that goes, but as for the big picture, I'm happy.

I transplanted them into 2gal. pots the other day and threw them into flower (12/12). This is day #2 of rest for them. I keep the light on from 9pm - 9am to keep it cool. Gets a little warm during the day and I need a better exaust fan.

The plant in the back right corner, and the one in the front right corner are both girls! YAAAAY!!!! I found the one in the back to be a girl this morning actually so I'm having a great start to my week. Stooooooked! I know that you should always wait 'til the pre-flowers come before putting them into 12/12, but since one showed, I said fuck it. The rest aren't too far off.

I have my light about 13 inches off the top of the canopy. It was just getting too warm. I know how the lumens disperse past a foot a way too. Oh well. Hopefully my ladies will get used to it 'cuz I barely have anymore vertical room left for the light. They're kind of too thick to be training at this point. Well, I guess you could always bend 'em but I'm just gonna let them grow straight. See what I get.

Well hello hello.

I am having so much fun. Just look at these. I can't believe how far they have come.

There were 7. Two got pulled tonight. They weren't preflowering and showing me the goodies. They weren't as tall, and, since I should only be growing 4 at a time in this tent, I pulled 'em. That means...

4 GIRLS! Out of 7 plants. I'm stoked.

I have a 9v computer fan vented into the bottom closer corner blowing fresh air up into that bitch. Then I sat the ducting of the exaust up in the corner, right on the glass bulb cover of the 150w HPS. It's steady at 80 degrees and everyone's happy.

I've given them their first and only feeding so far of Tiger Bloom. They're getting a little pale. I'm assuming it's because they don't get as much nitrogen now. I water every other day.

Enjoy the pics.

...I am.

New pics. It's a little warm in the tent (84) but they seem to be doing just fine. I just hope my 150w HPS will give me decent buds. First timer with flowering females. I don't know what I'm looking at but I can tell for sure that they're well on their way. No crystals or anything yet. I WANNA SEE CRYSTALS!!!! Anyways...

I water ever 3 days. The soil takes forever to dry. Please, please, please..... Experienced growers, tell me if I'm doing ok. Do they look like they'll provide a fair yield?? Kind of stressin' about it, but it's just because I'm excited and I've put so much time and effort.

I need some experienced comments.

Ok, nevermind then about the experienced advise... I see what's goin' on here. Mr. Miyagi shit. You think I'll learn better if I find out on my own and you know what? I did and it's' something I'll never forget.

HAIRS!!! I can even see some crystals forming! FUCK YES!!!!!!!

I've trimmed off a couple of the bottom branches that were turning yellow cuz' Jorge Cervantes told me it would send more energy to the top of the plant. They look very happy. I actually put 4 branches to clone today. I'll probably give them away if they root. We'll see what happens.

I go off and on with the Fertilizer, I think I might be getting a hint of burn so I backed off a bit. I definitely want more light on the next grow but as you can see these bitches basically outgrew my tent. Kind of worried they won't stop growing vertically in time cuz' if they do, I'm back to having NO PLAN! Wish me luck. SMOKE WEED!

These are some clippings I just took off of one of my girls. It looks like a lot but they were at the very bottom and they weren't getting enough light so they're out. Now I'm hoping the plant focuses more energy on the higher areas of the plant where the buds are coming in.

I also added more soil to my healthiest girl. I actually pulled the root ball our of the pot and added more to the bottom of the pot before putting her back in. I hope I didn't cause too much stress. She's well into flowering and I'm smooth as fuck so I'm sure she actually enjoyed it.

Yeah look sweet so far, nice work on the journal - good to see people keeping them up to date :)
The homeboxes work well from what i've seen from other growers, but yeah LST is worthwile if youre using the small HB.
go steady..
Frosty.

Did I just miss that? I don't know what you meant by LST. I love my homebox. It's just that the small seems as though it's a little too small. I hear from some people that earlier flower induction makes for smaller plants, but I also hear that they'll flower whenever they do it regardless of the time cycle. I'm definitely gonna induce flowering earlier on my next grow in this homebox. That'll be a nice little eperiment.

Thanx for checkin' out my grow!!

LST is where you use wire or string to tie the plants over or out to the side as they grow, which ultimately gives you more room to work with.
I've vegged plants and use Low Stress Training to trail them around the pots edge then allowed them to grow up from the centre, kinda like a corkscrew.
LST works well esp when you have limited height...

Let it grow a few days...tie it over...Let it grow ...tie it over..etc...
You can go 12/12 from seed if you wish, or wait til the 6/7 node then induce flowering, or just wait til the preflowers show then flip to 12/12 ,but bare in mind that some strains can triple in height during flowering.. ie if you have 4 ft height to work with, you should prolly flower sativa dominant plants at around 18" if you dont use LST.
I just go 12/12 from seed and plants barely go past 3-4ft, and implement a lil tieing down if they do get a lil too big.
The Homebox small is great but yup its real easy to out grow it.
good luck.

Gotcha. I trained my first plant and it grew into a fucking enormous bush. I chose not to do it on this grow to see them grow straight and tall. I had also heard that there's no better cola than the main one and that when you tie down, you get many different smaller ones. From the looks of it, however, I wish I had tied these down as well. The bush looked a lot more appetizing, but these are comin' along really nice I think.

if you LST you will still get the main cola to a good size, but the lower colas get more light so they get a fair bit bigger than they otherwise would without adding side lighting.

Very nice grow so far man, I've been reading through the journal and there is decent info added there so cheers for that.

btw: Is it me or does that last pic posted look like the light is scorching the top cola area?

peace and best of luck

edit: also there is a pic of you a couple of pages back (i presume it's you anyway lol) would it not be wiser to remove that photo as it is easily recognisable imo, just a thought ;)

Anyone else think the cola in the last pic is getting too much light?? I'm kind of worried now, but I can't really do anything about it cuz' I've completely run out of vertical space. They seemed to have stop growing vertically, I just hope they fill out a little more. :wall: I just have to wait and see.

You could try an bend it over slightly towards the side or anywhere really just try moving it away from that bulb man ;-)

EDIT:
Not sure if this would work, but you could put a clear food bag thing over the top cola and tie it off to let the moisture build up inside, So the bud and leaves would be moist again??? there is the problem of the bag melting but i never done it so i dont know if it would melt, but anyway there ya go lol ...

Hope it gets better man, peace bongsmilie
