This grow? You had said earlier that this was sort of just for kicks. Did you have a goal in mind as far as the final yeild, potency, or just to test techniques?
Sorry mate i had a bit of a baked blank haha. Yeah you're right, this one was just a bit of a hobby grow, i was intrigued by both the idea of a mini grow, and the use of cfls as i had never tried them before. I wanted to try to challenge myself to fit as many budsites at equal height as i could in the box, so i learnt quite a bit about topping and lst as ive never been this brutal with it before. After dad told me on my last attempt that id be lucky to get a 1/4oz from this setup i set anything above that weight as my ultimate goal, but after seeing how its all filling out im now really hoping it will yield up around the ounce mark. I hadnt really thought of any differences in potency from my outdoor and hps grows with this strain, but now that you mention it im interested to see if theres any difference between this one and the previous grows as ive noticed increased trichome production under the cfls. So i guess to answer your question, a bit of all of the above haha.

Bit of an update, shes become a bit thick to keep rotaing daily now, three sides are too bushy and push into the fan if theyre facing that direction so now shes staying put, and i swapped out the 6500k bulb for a 2700k bulb so it all receives 2700k evenly for the next few weeks until shes done. Other than that i think shes going pretty well :)

Anybody got any advice for figuring out harvest time when you have a lot of fox tailing going on? As it is the lower 2/3 - 3/4 of the buds are swelling nicely, with pistils receding and calyxes swelling, whist the tops of the buds are still quite thin and are constantly shooting off fresh pistils. I was planning on harvesting when the lower 2/3 - 3/4 are done, but does anybody have any other ideas?

Cheers :)

Hey all, nothing big to update except she now resides under a 250w hps for her remaining time as the tent was empty and i wanted to use the box to start some seedlings. Shes starting to smell pretty amazing now, especially before the fan and lights come on... pics will be added soon :)

Sorry guys, been a bit slack with it lately... shes been chopped now however and is currently drying due to a massive bug infestation that seemed to happen when we had some wild weather down here.... luckily the bugs seem to be evacuating as the buds dry. Will add some pics after work :) im definitely happy with the yeild of her

Yeah good ol tassie eh...

Jarred her up tonight, thankfully most of those little prick aphids and whatever the tinier white ones are have left the buds since theyve started drying, so she hopefully i can clean more out of the jar daily until theyre all more or less gone... Havent got a weight yet but heres a couple of pics until then :)

Hey guys and gals,

I just thought id throw up some progress shots of my first mini grow setup... In the past ive grown outdoors and dabbled in a 250w hps growbox i put together, but i decided this time i was keen for something smaller and more convenient for a hobby more than anything.

The plant in the box is a local outdoor strain we have had some decent luck with in the past, and was about a week old before i put it in the box on the 2nd of Feb. Since then i let it veg for 21 days and tipped and fimmed it with some LST thrown in to keep it low. Its growing in a 2 liter container in a 1:1 mix of topsoil and potting mix, and has been top dressed with shredded sheep manure and dynamic lifter plus. It also receives a dose of seasol, seasol: powerfeed and a little liquid potash every 2nd watering. The little lady (hopefully) is now on day 6 of flower and seems to be loving it. Anyway, enough chit chat, time for some pics :)
I really like it. I would put in 3 more mini cfls in the staggers arangement you have them in now. And stack the fans they work way better then side by side
