Hey fellow RIUer's, this will be my first grow journal that I plan on finishing it from start to finish.
My greenhouse is setup and all my soil is ready and in the pots and garden bed.

I germinated the seeds paper towel method 2 days ago now and am expecting some tap roots when I go to check on them a little later.

Strains:
7x AutoUltimate
4x AutoMazar
4x Fantasmo Expresso

Below is some pictures of the greenhouse and my little garden bed I set up which fits about 40-45 gallons of soil that only cost me 15$ to construct.

Good luck this year guys and enjoy this grow season! I know I will be!

I hope you get enough light penetration but it looks like u are under 50% with that plastic. There're translucent plastics that u can't see what's inside but still offers 80%+ lighting efficiency. But 45 gallons of a good soil mixture that's aerated, has cal-mag, silica, other essential nutrients and you're running good for cheap, huh? If you're keeping that plastic u might consider some CFL or HO fluro's for sidelighting on cloudy and low light early morning and evenings.

I'm in the high desert of Southern California so sunlight is never a problem, it's always shinin in my side of the woods haha.. I honestly think the transparency is quite weak compared to other greenhouses I have used in the past.

For the garden bed, I have about 2"-3" of chunky perlite at the bottom then about 15-18 gallons of super soil with 20-25 of just regular roots organic on top. Both the super soil and roots organic have added perlite, no exact measures but around 10%-20%.

I have this thread locked in so hopefully in 70 days or so you'll have some results to show how the grow went. I'm curious about how that plastic will perform. Good luck. Btw, when r u thinking they'll be done?

Thanks bro! Day 1 for me is as soon as they break through the soil and show their cotyledon leaves so I'm thinking that will be this upcoming Monday. The AutoUltimate and the AutoMazar is 10 weeks from seed, so that would be right around 4/20 actually haha. The Fantasamo Express is also 10 weeks from seed.

I always give my autos the suggested time from seed and almost always give them an extra week just depends on how they look at their finish mark.

Cool man I'll be doing auto purple mazar this season as well. Excited to see yours. I won't be planting until beginning of april.

Yeah I was thinkin about trying some auto's but I read if I put some non-auto's in 12/12 light for two weeks(to get fully locked into flower-mode) then outside in a greenhouse, then even if there's 13 or 14 hrs sunlight they wouldn't recede back into veg. Those autoflowering strains seemed to have reduced yields by half or less. So apparently the ruderalis inclusion fux up their yield potential. I wonder if a side-by-side strain, I.E. Mazar & automazar both started late summer so ten weeks would be typically finish time, would their yields be equal?

Id like to see some serious auto growers do some dark devils by sweet seeds bud is great and tasty but i couldnt get yeild but i know i didnt grow in optimum conditions.
Purple bud phenos seem to be 3-1 in favour.

From what I've heard and read online, no personal experience, that a photo strain vegged for the same amount of time and induced into flowering to give it the same 10 week grow time that the photo strain would yield better then autos. Can't say that it would be too big of a yield difference.

Good stuff man I'm along for the ride, stoked more people are rocking autos now.
There easy and quick.
Glad to have you bro, and yeah I don't understand the hatred for them, I've been growing with them for a lil over a year now and they're great, you just have to find good genetics as a lot of auto genetics aren't very good.

Unfortunately, I may be moving towards the end of the year and don't want to invest all my time into real crop and is why I'm doing autos all year round. I plan on atleast getting 2 or 3 more auto grows going after this one, I could try out a couple of dark devils, pretty sure I read some good things about that strain in the auto section here.

I think if u end up throwing a few dark devils in u will be pleasantly surprised with the taste and quality..there is a greener bud one with dark leaves then there is the purple one with almost black leaves
Quite tasty actually

That's some scary lookin bud haha! Definitely something that would be pretty cool to grow, thanks for the suggestion. I'm definitely gonna throw it on the list for next time (the purple one)! I already got 15 seeds germin and my space is already all used up, only need 13 seeds.

What did she yield dry?

Thats my whole point i grew in winter in the tent for half then end of winter for half only half oz tops but if it was grown by more exp ppl like yourself im sure it could yield 5 times that much :)
I popped 4 seeds and 3 had purple in them ..finished product on one was like black buds almost with grey

Hi I'm doing pretty much the same set up except I'm in Ireland, I was wondering what's the best thing to do in a greenhouse should I plant into the ground or use pots? And should I start my plants off in the greenhouse or should I use a light for a couple of weeks first sorry this is my first outdoor grow so I'm a beginner really.

Well thank you, it's always nice to hear from someone that I'm "experienced"! How long have you been growing for and since it was in the winter, I think that's the exact reason why the yield was a bit small.

IMHO, in a greenhouse I prefer them to be in pots so if I need to I can maneuver the plants around if I have to. Personally, I always use seeds outdoors and I have always went with the paper towel method and dropped a tap root in the soil outdoors in the greenhouse. Starting indoors your going to have to harden them off, I can imagine that having to harden off an auto can have a major effect on yield due to possible stress and the lack of growth during the hardening off stage

Little update guys, I had a 100% germination success rate on all 15 seeds!!

I would say it's been about two days since i popped them into their homes.
Checked on them this morning and one little baby had already broken through the soil!

I'll update with some pictures as soon as they all pop through, thanks to everyone following along my journal, appreciate it!
