dont listen to the nay sayers man ur doing great keep it up
Who's a naysayer? I think his plants look great, I just think he's not being efficient. The only setups that I've ever typically seen where they use 1000W lights from basically seedling are larger grow operations. My opinion is not that he shouldn't use a big light(s), only that he could/should be growing more of them and utilizing all the wasted lumens. If he's going to keep the grow relatively small, I and many others, have gotten extremely good results more efficiently.

nice grow bro. Correct me if I'm wrong but 5' x5' is 25 sq ft and you have 2000 watts which equals less than 100watts per sq ft. So how is this such a high light output to space as you mentioned in the first post as many people in this forum have about 100watt per sq ft...
i disagree. most people use 1000 watt for an 8x8 area. when i look in the forms i see a lot more plants in a lot higher area will alot less watts. idk maybe others disagree?

So how many plants are you growing in that 5 X 5 space again? Whatever it is, you don't need 2000W of HPS. There is such thing as too much light believe it or not, just ask some of my former plants I got a little too aggressive with a long time ago lol. With the light so high up, it just wasting unnecessary wattage. Trade in your other 1000W and get a 400MH instead. That's what I'd suggest, unless you're purposely trying to drive the temperature up in order to utilize Co2.
i do keep my temp high to utilize the co2, and it is a 1000 watt mh and a 1000 hps, although i have done 2000 watts hps. as far as too much light, i dont think you really can have such a thing, indoor lighting will never come close to the power of the sun. ill post some pictures of my 2000 watt hps yield. i believe the more light you give a plant it will adjust and yield higher as long as root size, nutrietns, and co2 are not limiting factors plus or minus the yeild capability of a strain,

Sorry about that a girl just pushed my enter button. Go to other thread and check out other peoples grows then tell them to check out yours. It will bring more people onto your thread trust me. I am also doing the same with more plants. 2000W about 10 plants. Hoping to yield about 30 oz. Think that is a decent guess? I wonder how big I will have to veg them before flower to get my goal amount. Well let me know what you think. Your grow should be pretty amazing. Good Job man. Keep the thread and pics coming. Love seeing plants mature day by day.

veg them while fiming (this is not topping, its when you cut off 80% of the terminal shoot, unlike topping you cut the top part of the plant off) the plants to keep them low with alot of shoots. you want the plants to cover a 6x6 area well. so it should look like you only have one fat plant with a 6x6 canopy but in all reality its 10 plants. if you wait tell then to start flowering ( its gay cause it takes like 1.5 to 2 months veg time) you will yeild 2 pounds bad conditions 4 pounds good conditions and 5 pounds with excelelnt conditions and co2.. . . . . it took me along time to master this. but being medical i'm not alloweed high plant numbers but need alot of medicin

great lookin grow oregon..

My friend is about to start a 2000 watt grow in a 8x8x8ft walk in closet. I just read ur comment above and he only wishes to grow about 6-10 plants but utilize the space used. He plans on vegging longer and producing 6-10 very large plants. How long do you recommend vegging, and also could you explain your method of fiming. Thanks and any input is greatly appreciated

Keep with the good updates on this one and good luck!

well how long to veg really depends on how you grow. if he is doing soil he is only going to want 6 plants cause you are going to need to but them in ATLEAST 10 gallon pots, id go bigger. and in that situation maybe 8 weeks veg from clone. hydro is the best for monster plants because you can get such a large root balls in such a small area. if you are doing hydro 6 weeks vegs will do it. an okay rule of thumb is that your plant size before flower and multiply it by 1.5. again this is not a for sure thing but it will get you close. this link has some good pics pf fiming http://www.420magazine.com/forums/vegetative-cycle/80889-fiming.html hope this helps let me know if you need me to clarify anything
