Nutfoot, looking very good, my friend.

I'd highly recommend taking that larger plant outta there - that's just begging for trouble and to fuck up your yield.

BTW, any chance that you could post a link for those zipper walls? I've been contemplating building a tent (already have two Sun Huts, but I need a "custom" size), and the only downside that I could think of was not being able to have those zippers.

Also, have you ever used a "real" tent? If so, any differences or anything like that you can think of?

Thanks.
Hey there, here is a link for the doors, http://www.homehardware.ca/Products/index/show/product/I2610320/name/entry_kit_zipper_door_7

Only other grow I've done was a little CFL closet grow, but I can tell you now that this Tent was sooo easy to make. Positives of it are that if you need to adjust it, (make it wider, change the ventilation setup, make a shelf for a fan, stick a nail into something so you can hang something, etc, etc) It is very simple, well if your like me and have a few extra 2 by 4s afterwords and extra poly.

At first I was considering grow tents, but it was too expensive for one that suited my needs, and making the tent of wood instead of pvc pipes (my originaly plan) was definetely a much better idea as the wood is much much more usable and cheaper then pvc pipes.

As far as the big plant goes (grows?) We are making sure to tie up all his branches so that they do not block light to any other plants and we keep him well trimmed so he's not bushing out over everything. I am considering hanging him again soon to give the others around him a bit more space/light to work with. But we did not have aenough clones to fill our 2nd table, so I'm worried the yield will be even less with him on that table.

Thanks for your interest though, I was worrried my thread had become invisible for a couple weeks there.

Thanks for the link, my friend - I actually found an 8x8 tent, so I'll probably go with that.

But I'm hanging around for your grow :bigjoint:

You are growing a MALE in there? Wouldn't it be safer to have him seperate and collect his ollen and make seeds as you like?

Nah He's a She, it just so happened I named my plants after people I thought they looked like. All my seeds were feminized for the Himalayan Gold, and the other strain in there I already grew/cloned/flowered a plant and sexed it, and its clones are in there.

Ahkay, so its update day. I'll let the pictures tell most of the story, they have all more than doubled in size in the past 10 days, and the nutrients have been comin on at 1600ppm every 2 hours for 10 mins. The temps have been hovering at 30C when it's all closed up and the humidity risen to 70, this is due to warm weather we're having recently. But if this is any indication we're gonna be needing an AC when spring comes.

You can see the little dwarf plant is comin along nicely with a total of 6-8 leaves on her now, and white hairs already comin in nicely :) im curious to see how much she will weigh in at, I am guessin 2g's dried max. The height difference is very apparent between the topped and untopped plants, but by the end I am hoping the topped ones will be at the height of the big plant in the corner so it will be even there, and then the untopped table will be higher then that.

This first run in this room is kind of an experiment to see what we plan on doing for the next one to maximize yield (untopped vs topped, large vs small). Currently we have 20 or so clones we took from the plants a few days ago to be mothers. I think we plan on putting about 80 in each table next run. But we'll see how this turns out first.

:leaf:Peace out.

Looks great! I really love seeing all the different ingenious ways people build their own gear.

I was really thrilled the first time I tried AN's 3 part nutes, how do you like them?

Interesting, I have never seen anyone run this strain before..... Looking forward to seeing what it's like, have u tried it/ smoked it before?
When you say 80 per table do u mean under the 2 x 1000w's?

Thanks, Advanced Nutrients are the only ones I have tried, but so far it has been hard to over feed these plants, I've been following the exact ppms/per week it says on the bottle at a 1:1:1 ratio, it was developed by PhD scientists testing on marijuana, so I figure they know best.

This is my first time running the strain and I have never seen it before. We chose it because it'll be a real heavy outdoor yielder for 2010, but indoors it gets massive colas too. As for potency, what I've heard is its about 15%THC which is pretty average, though I have seen some peoples plants that looked more like 19-20%.

And yea 81 per table per 1000w to be exact (9x9) - total of 162 plants an 2000w, we would use big rockwool cubes for that with a base of rockwool for the roots to grow into also.

Alright so keeping up with the slew of pics, actually my camera ran out of bat. today so not too many. You can see we put in a screen over the big ones, a lower screen over the topped ones and a vertical screen to keep the Big Plant contained to his corner nicely.

We fixed the high temperature problem by changing our vent setup, so now it much more efficiently sucks cold air from our heatless house, and vents hot air back into our house (our house has been like 11C as low as 5C this winter INDOORS, but with our new vent setup ambient temps have raised to 19C-20C... who needs a furnace? ;)

Let's see, we herbud 420'd them, have been spraying neem every few days, spidermites are all gone pretty much by the look of it. Reservoirs are around 1600ppm, but I have no clue what level the nutrients are really at as the Rez is getting pretty dirty, time to change it really soon. Ph has been sittin at 5.8-5.9 now too.

Heh, looking back at day 1, an comparing it to now, you can see how the clones looked exactly like their Moms, all the tall plants are just like Adam, the tallass mother on the first page. And all the short topped ones resemble the shortass mother, and the middle sized mother resembles itself in its pot... shit im stoned, peace out RIU:leaf:

note: you can see how awesome the cooltubes work by how close I have it to the tops of the tall ones, Id put it even closer, but then the outside plants would suffer. But that 1000w hortilux bulb is 5 inches from the tops of the plants, so it's pretty safe to say it's already raping their green asses photosynthetic style

I'll be getting pictures up pretty soon, cameras just dead on batteries, shitty dollar store ones only last a max of 1 minute in my camera, guess i need to invest in some of those lithium photon ion ones.. you know the ones.

Pictures pictures pictures. buds forming, clones taken to be mothers all rooted, close ups, wide shots, check it out. :-o

I thought there would be some smell by now, but the tent itself has no smell at all, and the room the tent is in only has small smell, because it is not ventilated and some seeps through from the tent it must.

I'm hoping to reach 2 and 3/4 pounds and I think it'll be possible the way our conditions are all dialed in now, humidity, fresh air(co2), air temps, reservoir temps, oxygenated water, nutrient ratios have been worked out as well, so minus having artificial co2 in the room I think we're set up for a nice harvest. Free green supply :)

Thanks.

Here are some more pictures, you can see how TALL these things are getting untopped holy shit. They are over 3.5 feet tall and growing, i flowered them when they were about 7-10 inches tall. I can tell already that these are gonna be MASSIVE colas too, Himalaya Gold is known for it's huge colas, and it's ability to grow well under cold night temps as it originates from the Himalayans, it grows very well at high altitudes too, so I think it'll be the perfect outdoor strain for the rocky mountains here.

We found spidermites today on most of the plants, the seem to have just snuck in there. since we are a month into flowering we are sketch about treating them at all, but we made the decision to spray them with neem today to at least try an weaken them a bit. As soon as we get our CO2 in (we are trying to find a cheap tank) we plan on runnin 10000ppm of co2 for an hour to kill all the lil fuckers.

You can also see our inline 3 bulb ozone generator there. We are carbon filtering the tent's exhaust already and it doesnt smell, but the rest of our basement/ stairs/top of stairs was gettin smellily suspicious, so we picked this up with a 6 inch inline fan for it to solve that issue.

And for the record, I estimate it gets rid of the weed smell about 20x better then the carbon filter, which only filters air the fan can suck into it, while the ozone seems to permeate and diffuse throughout the basement and stairwell very well , it smells a bit like ozone when it's on for 15 minutes, but then it is off for 2 hours and just smells pure, a tiny bit like ozone in the grow room but its better then the smell before.

Nice work with the chicken wire but remember to tie them to it, its dosnt do anything with them just growing through it.

I would consider going crazy with the sterilized sissors and cable ties to get some more buds.

No mylar?

Sweet grow room sweet plants so I recon you will get some sweet smoke :)

Hey, been waiting for a reply before I posted new pics so i'l l get those up soon.

We tied them back about a week an a half ago now with zipties/rope so we're better in the height department now, but now theres alot of previous unknowns i know now about growing, so my next run will be alot cleaner and better. This harvest is gonna be iffy, the plants either have heat stress from lights being too close for a while, stressed from the lights accidently going back to 18/6 for 3 days, or a combination of the 2... so those stressed plants are really slow growing their buds and have started growing height more alot... but the plants that are good, are GOOD, so Im happy with the results, just needs a lil fine tuning.

Hey NUtfoot,
First off damn nice grow buddy! I just want to tell you to be carfull with the ozone gen in your room! Its not good for you to have it on when your in there and Ive hered from people on here that it can damage your plants. Just lookin out for ya bro.
Maybe you can add it to your exaust system. Thats how I have mine hooked up. Another thing you could move your filter to the side so you can move your light over and get a nice even canopy. Or you could turn your light around so the end of the buld is out and the socket is in the middle. Just my two cents. Best of luck!!
